Guys I wanted to bring this thread up lang. I've been looking for work for almost 2.5 months na and still no luck on my field. Under Supply Chain ako - focus on Planning and Procurement. I had 5 face to face interviews so far and >10 phone interviews so far. Pero wala pa rin. Minsan nakakainip na if sanay ka na nagwowork right after graduation pero I know God will provide.

Any tips po na pwede nyong ibigay? Sobrang dami ba talaga competitors sa market or sadyang hindi ok ang English ko. Wuah! Lalo na coming from Singlish country. huhuhu. Any tips please? Meron bang mga training na free for new migrants in looking for work? Kararamihan ng kasabay ko dati na dumating ditto meron ng mga work na kapwa ko IE. BTW nasa Melbourne po kami. Thanks for your replies.

@bait0211 balita ko nga din na factor ang English skills, palagi ko nababasa ang "broaden your network".. may iba na nag odd job pansamantala to earn some & practice their communication with locals..

@bait0211 sis try mo kya different industry na sa tingin mo transferrable ang skills mo..or take some certificates to learn new skills..sa english..somewhat adapted ko na singlish pro when it comes to interview..relax..be yourself and be confident..khit barok ako magenglish during interviews hndi nmn naging hindrance to land a job

@Captain_A: hi there! Network wise ok naman kami. May nakapagsabi nga na be friendly sa mga agents for if naging kampante ka na sa kanila they will help you for sure. Kaso sa ngayon puro direct from the company ang tumatawag sa akin. Ayaw ako pansinin ng mga agents. Hahaha. I've tried applying na din for oodjobs kaso parang walang interested, 'parang mas gusto nila guys. Konting kapit lang talaga. Thanks! Thanks!

mg bro and sis, dun po sa mga nagrequest ng sample CV and cover letter copies nasend ko na po sa personal mails nyo. Yung pong mga nakreceive pashare na lang sa iba..

Cyencya na po kung ngayun lang ako nakareply, busy po at di na masyado nakakadalaw sa forums natin...

advise lang po sa iba (no offense :-) napansin ko po yung email address na ginagamit nga iba is either funny or offensive, like "petitie", sexy, hacker..etc if I were you I would create a new one na mas professional and simple like your [email protected]. This also impacts the way a prospective employee see you and in a first glance they may turn you down...so advise lang po.

by the way, may mga openings na may Criteria Response required, if there is, simply follow these guidelines, they filter candidates by these responses.

Sorry for confusion sir, normally big heads and government vacancies may strict application requirements on how candidates follow their instructions. This is also an strategy by recruiters/HR to see if a candidate can follow basic instruction, for example:

Applicants must submit these documents in these order:
Cover Letter
Criteria Response
CV

Limit "All" of docs into 4 pages in Times New Roman 11 in Word Format

If you fail one of these, medyo tagilid ka na, for example, nauna sa order mo CV or lumampas ka ng 4 pages

In terms of Criteria Response, bale similar this to an interview, in most case:

Question

1. Please state a pressing situation where all stakeholders gave deadlines, how do you handle this

Response.

2. (Give Real-World Scenario from your previous work but not bashing any negative issues, and how do you solve it, your action and response, and feedback or effect of your actions. Also ensure this must be a bit related to the job role your applying for) If you have several work experience na magkakaiba ang "career" type make sure yung response mo is yung magagamit nila for their team.

also I want to ask is how many referals/ contact person is ideal for new migrants looking for a job. currently I have 3 referals that confirm will answer any email/ call, the rest of my referals I myself can't contact them anymore.

Hi @Anino78, standard number of References (not Referral sir) are three dito sa Aus, mostly prefer nila based in Australia, must have position (whats relation to your previous work), company name, email address and contact number, if International ones, make sure you add the country code...they only contact them though by email and also if significant sa previous experience mo at related sa inaaplyan mo...and important din na in chronological order din ang references format, meaning yung pinakauna yung reference sa most recent work mo, most case yun lang ang kinokontak nila

Give heads up to your references too na some companies use "no caller id" or unknown id

you can tailor fit your CV / cover letter based on the job posting.
halimbawa yung post is related sa external audit make sure yung job descriptions mo sa resume mo for your external audit experience ay exact or close sa requirement ng job post.

kong accountant naman ang opening make sure ang mga description sa cv mo is exact or close dun sa post as accountant na hanap nila.

syempre dapat totoo hindi fabricated lang mga job description.
