Question sa pagplay ng recording, pag ba walang nakalagay na "u will hear the recording only once" pwed mo ulitin ang pagplay ng recording (sample is yung sa summarize spoken text)? Sensya na di ko pa kc natry mock test, this weekend pa lang hehe

Hello everyone good morning from SG! Silent reader lang ako dito at nagbabasa ng mga tips. Nag exam na ako last feb 6 at nakuha ko ang desired points para makapag submit na ng EOI. I would like to express my gratitude sa lahat ng nagbigay ng tips lalong lalo na speaking. Speaking "template" here is legit!!! yan lang masasabi ko.

Nais ko rin i-post lahat ng na-collate kong tips dito to pay it forward.

sa lahat ng gustong sumubok ng PTE, tingin ko need muna talaga malaman at isaisip ang format ng exam kasi ibang iba sya sa IELTS. Madami lang syang tignan pero pag alam mo na ang format, swabe lang ang magiging takbo exam. Eto po ang PTE format:

Speaking & Writing:
Read Aloud - 6 to 7 items
Repeat Sentence - 10 to 12 items
Describe Image - 6 to 7 items
Re-tell Lecure - 3 to 4 items
Answer Short Question - 10 to 12 items
Summarize Written Text - 10 minutes
Write Essay - 20 minutes (200-300 words)

Reading:
MC-CSA - 2 to 3 items
MC-CMA - 2 to 3 items
Reorder Paragraphs - 2 to 3 items
Fill in the blanks - 4 to 5 items
Reading & Writing Fill in the blanks - 5 to 6 items

Listening:
Summarize Spoken Text - 2 to 3 items
MC-CMA - 2 to 3 items
Fill in the blanks - 2 to 3 items
Highlight Correct Summary - 2 to 3 items
MC-CSA - 2 to 3 items

Nung una nahirapan ako kung saan at paano ako magsimula kaya hinanap ko yung PTE format para may masundan ako sa practice. Nagsimula ako magpractice from reading to listening at hinuli ko ang speaking and writing kasi di naman ako fluent speaker at alam kong mahaba habang practice ang kailangan ko sa module ng speaking. Eto po ang template na sinasabi ko at hindi ko po pag aari ito, nakuha ko lang dito sa forum at gusto kong magpasalamat. Bilang pasasalamat, nais ko syang i-share para sa mga nahihirapan sa speaking. Here it is:

"Read Aloud: Nung first take ko natatapos ko ung isang item in 35 secs. Kasi binibigkas ko ng maayos yung mga words. Nung second take ko in 20-25 secs tapos na ko. Important na tuloy tuloy lang. Like ng sabi ng iba short pause for comma and long pause for period. Pero wag yung super tagal na pause. Pagdating sa intonation, pababa lang ako lagi after each sentence. Try to emphasize yung mga important words in each sentence. Dito ako nahirapan kaya ang ginawa ko nagbasa ako ng short passages. Yung nasa scored practice test ok yun gawing practice. Inulit ulit ko lang yun hanggang sa nasaulo ko na. Nung nasaulo ko na siya napractice ko kung paano iemphasize ung mga academic words.

Repeat Sentence: Ginamit ko yung mga video sa youtube na repeat sentence. Dapat intindihin yung thought ng sinabi nung speaker. Pag kasi naintindihan mo na yung sinabi mauulit mo siya. Hindi lahat ng words na repeat ko. Siguro 5 lang yung sure ako na tama yung iba kung ano ano yung nasabi ko pero andun yung thought ng kung ano yung sinabi nung speaker.

Describe Image: Gumamit ako ng template. Hindi ko na matandaan kung kanino ko nakuha to. Pero super thank you sayo. Ang laking tulong.

PROCESS/DIAGRAMS: The process/diagram projected on the screen describes how ________. Dito wala ako template na ginamit. Yung mga words na nasa picture binasa ko lang para makabuo ako ng sentences.

TABLE: The table projected on the screen is the presentation of variables from research entitled ________. It is subdivided into ________columns and ________ rows. The highest sector is ________ with ________ while the lowest sector is ________ with ________. It is surprising to see that ________ is the second highest sector with ________. Overall, this graph seems accurate and concise and can be used as a reference for future studies.

Abot ng 40 secs yung template pag nilagay mo yung mga data from the table or graph. May times na stop na pala yung recording nagsasalita pa ako. Tuloy tuloy lang kayo magsalita. Kung nagkamali kayo ng pagpronounce wag niyo na ulitin. Basta tuloy tuloy lang."

Pagmakabisado mo yang template, i'm sure mataas score mo. i-add mo nalang yung mga data. Regarding naman sa mic, nasa gitna ng nose at lips ko nakaposition ang mic. Ang ginawa ko, mga 3-2 seconds before magrecording, hingang malalim na ako para tuloy tuloy lang salita. Sa "read aloud" mind nyo ang comma at period, it took me 27-32 seconds per paragraph. Sa reading naman, lagi ako natatagalan sa reorder paragraph kahit sa mock test. Speaking of mock test, if may extra money kayo, iavail nyo po ito kahit yung 1 test lang para ma-gauge nyo sarili nyo at maging comfortable sa format ng exam. Sa listening need lang talaga focus at bilis ng pagsulat. Sa writing naman, pwede nyo isearch sa google si Dylan Aung kasi meron syang blog regarding sa mga essay na lumabas na sa exam. Yung sakin ay regarding sa climate change. Kinapos ako sa writing at listening kaya wala ako masyadong tips. Nagbabalak akong magretake for 79 points sa lahat ng module para tumaas ang score ko sa EOI. Good luck and GOD bless sa lahat ng mga kukuha.

@xiaolico oo alam ko marami nahihirapan sa speaking ganun din feeling ko nung nagstart ako magpraktis. nung nakuha ko score ko sa mock test, dun ako naging confident kaya ok din kumuha ng mock test talaga. saka kabisaduhin lang yung template. Yes, sana nga masama ako sa feb 15

hi @eynah_gee sakin nagsulat lang ako ng 2-3 sentences ng narinig ko at since kabisado ko yung template ko sa retell lecture, yun ang ginamit ko. make sure wag kang lalagpas sa 70 ha. pag may template kasi maiksi lang yang 70 words.

@albertus1982 actually naisip ko na din gamitin ung template sa retell lecture since na memorize konma sya. Since nabanggit mo, I think gagamitin ko na sya.

@ajbxxx @Skye24 hi! i took my PTE as well the other day, I feel confident na mas better scores ko kase d ako ng tutter, or false starts or what so ever, but still my OF and pronunciation scores are still the same. Di ko na din alam ggwin ko 3x na ko ngttake.. nauubos na pera ko dito.. at nkkapgod ng mag review. pero I want na tlaga mag punta sa OZ. hais.. nkakadepress.. ;(

@eynah_gee I'm currently preparing for my next pte din. I agree with @albertus1982 pagdating sa Summarize spoken text. Ginagamit ko din yung template sa retell lecture. Malaking tulong ang template talaga. Parang 2in1 na sya, magagamit mo sya sa retell tsaka sa summ spoken txt. Malaking tipid din ng time sa pagrereview. You'll have more time to focus on other sections ng exam like essay, etc.

@xiaolico Tingin ko di din sya aabot next round. medyo mabagal ang kilos ng 263111, halos 2 months na ang back log.
last feb 1, ang mga na-invite within 65 pts is yung EOI before 07/12/2016 11:47 pm. And with only 194 invites left sa 263111.

@albertus1982 tingin ko, mas malaki chance for 190, sponsorship with NSW. since makaka 70 pts ka dun.

kung kaya mo mag wait until July for 189, then sure ka na dun sa invite.

To summarize his/her analysis, he/she pointed out that ________. (sinabi ko yung 3-4 sentences na sinulat ko, wala akong conclusion)

yung akin 2-3 sentences lang nasusulat ko.
