Student Visa (Step by step)

I'm gonna update my OSHC for July 2017 intake and my question is..

If my intake is on July 31, 2017.. My OSHC needs to start a week before which is July 24, 2017 and it should last until 2 months after end date of the program.

What if I want to go to Australia on June 24, 2017 and place my start date on June 24, 2017 instead of July 24, 2017 and the end date is still 2 months after my program..

Will immigration refuse my application just because my OSHC starts 1 month before my intake?

@hello1029 Hi, that will not be a problem. My intake will be on July 11 but I'll be in Australia by June 22 and I got my visa granted.

@hello1029 Yes of course, since you have your visa. I haven't heard anyone who were not allowed to enter Aus because of problems with their OSHC.

Be aware of visa condition 8501 as it states:

Your visa has been granted with condition 8501 which means that you must maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance (generally Overseas Student Health Cover) while you are in Australia on this visa. You must not enter Australia before your Overseas Student Health Cover has begun. You must not remain in Australia on this visa after your Overseas Student Health Cover has expired.

Students from Norway, Belgium or Sweden may not need to maintain Overseas Student Health Cover. More information is available on our website at www.border.gov.au/Trav/Stud/More/Health-Insurance-for-Students

*To avoid breaching this condition, have your OSHC extended to an earlier date.

VISA GRANT NA PO AKO!!! GOD IS GOOD!! IN HIS PERFECT TIME TALAGA. ANSWERED PRAYERS!!!

Very rare case po yung akin.

Timeline:

February 11, 2017 - lodged application thru immi account (IDP manila helped)
February 11, 2017 - Acknowledgement of application received
March 16, 2017 - REFUSED due to GTE

Reasons (screenshot attached)
The explanation for reasons #:
#1 - I'm an entrepreneurship graduate and my proposed course is Accounting (there is a greater benefit for our family business)
#3 AND #4 - I did not overstay. I applied on shore for another tourist visa for the extra 2 months (December-February) I got my bridging visa right after the paying the application and my visa grant on December 22 after medical examination.

End of March until April I looked for an agency that can help me apply again for another visa. I talked to 4 agencies (AUG, AMS, FORTRUST, and KOKOS) I opted for KOKOS. They were VERY knowledgeable of what to do with regards to my case. SIR MJ IS THE BEST.

April 21, 2017 - I got a letter from immigration saying that there may have been irregularities on the decision made on my application. We should wait for further information regarding the matter (SAME APPLICATION THAT WAS REFUSED MARCH 16, 2017)

May 9, 2017 - Immigration asked for more information. Updated COE and OSHC.

May 16, 2017 - Attached COE and OSHC to immi account and also emailed immigration officer that sent us the request for more information.

TODAY MARCH 17, 2017 I GOT MY VISA GRANT!!!

@hello1029 congratulations on your approval! tanong ko lang, ibig sabihin ba mali yung refusal mo nung March 16 kaya nagemail sila sau nung April 21 uli? and ano kinalaman ni sir mj ng kokos dun po kung si immigration nagemail po?

@IntApp yes. mali daw decision nila. nagtanong siya sa immigration kung bakit ganun yung decision nila e hindi naman ako nag overstay. So siguro kaya nalaman ng immigration.

@bumbleaidz Hi, thank you for this information. Though I forgot to mention, my travel insurance would be covering the time my OSHC cannot. In short, I would still be under a certain health insurance since travel insurance will also cover any medical expenses. I did my research on this awhile back. But for those who are still in doubt, adjust your OSHC.

Take note guys: You can't enter Australia without any kind of health insurance, more specifically when you're on a student visa.

question po. ano po visa subclass pag dependent ng student visa pag gumagawa ng hap id?
and pano po kung nakagawa na nag hap id tapos di pa nakapagpamedical tapos nauna pa yung paglodge kesa magpamedical ka kahit may hap id ka na. hindi po ba magkakaron ng problem dun? thanks po

Guys pa help naman po. High chance po ba na ma refused ang visa kpag Diploma of nursing ang knuha ko? Ofw po ako sa middle east pero hnd ako nurse dto kasi kakapasa ko lang ng board exam. Sa hosp ako nag wowork ngayon as insurance coordinator.

Ask ko din kung 1 and half years ang course ko need ba ang proof of funds ko ay 19k AUD plus 8,500 aud? Plus need paba ung remaining balance ng 2 semester pa?

hi po.. mamaya na visa lodgement ko thru idp Ortigas, wala po kc ako sponsor so i will independently support my studies through my biz. waiting nalang ako kc mamaya ko na submit final docs sa idp. will study sa TAFE NSW po for July intake.
