    @vangie @raspberry0707

Kasama 'yung MLS and MLT diyan under ng Medical Science Council of NZ. Meron ding ganyan ang Australia surely, unsure ako sa tawag (kaya may AHPRA et al for nurses, physios, midwives, etc), pero hindi kasama ang MLS and MLT diyan... kaya kung mapapansin niyo minsan iba iba ang tawag sa job titles diyan. Scientific Officer karamihan ata. Sa NZ 'di pwedeng may variations sa tawag sa'yo kasi regulated profession 'yun. Pwede mo lang kabitan ng specialisation mo...

Sabi rin mismo sa guidelines ng AIMS sa page 2, https://www.aims.org.au/documents/item/88 - "There is no statutory registration of Medical Laboratory Scientists in Australia." AIMS is not a regulatory body, it's a professional body---parang PAMET lang.

Kung pwedeng mag claim ng equivalence sa TTMRA dapat may standard qualifications to be in the profession and regulatory body for occupational registration 'yung both countries... :D

Kaya kung nasa field kang ito at gusto mong lumipat sa NZ... panibagong assessment na naman =) Although kung from NZ to OZ, may strong bearing yung registration ng NZ kase legit eh, may reg cert and practising cert (renewable annually)! :D

Regulatory bodies have the right to suspend your fitness to practise if may nagawa kang grave offence. They also can require CPDs (ahem PRC) :D Australia doesn't have that for medical science professionals...

And one year lang (full time) 'yung graduate degree to become an MLS sa NZ. Baka umabot ng 2 years if part-time. Walang exam. Kailangan mo lang i-prove na at least 2 years ka na practising as MLT in an ISO 15189 accredited diagnostic medical laboratory in NZ post-enrollment ng degree.

Thanks for all the clarifications @Mia

So for MLT and MLS in NZ.. kelangan nio pa bang mgpa-register sa AIMS dito sa Aus?

@Mia i thought dahil ANZSCO ang title they share equal standards in assessing and registering foreign educated lab professionals.

@Mia I see.. so since regulated ang profession natin sa NZ.. pwede na kaung mgwork dito sa Aus kahit walang AIMS exam?

@raspberry0707 As MLT I suppose and kung may work rights. Wala namang nakalagay na hindi mag-qualify. To be fair dahil nga walang registration, and if kung NZ citizen ako and MLT ako, I can just go and apply for work sa Australia without registration and impediment kasi may credentials and work exp naman ako from NZ... depende na sa employer kung kunin niya ako but he or she doesn't need to look for Aussie registration for there is none. Accreditation lang ang pwede niyang hingin hehe but even that may or may not be required.

Although I think mas lugi ang Australian MLS and MLTs kung lilipat sila kasi walang 'reciprocity' so walang hiwalay na info page for people with Australian degrees (like with other professions) or AIMS accreditation... nakalagay lang overseas-trained, so pantay pantay kayo lahat. =)

Dahil curious ako, I sent them an email if kung Australian-trained kailangan pa rin ba ng IELTS kasi 'yun 'yung nakakaiyak kung kailangan pa rin haha.

Although I think you @raspberry0707 are in a better position to ask kasi Aussie PR ka may work rights ka sa NZ.... if ever lang magpahaging ka na gusto mo lumipat, ano kaya ang dapat mong gawin?

Anyway dagdag na naman dahil lagi kong naaalala haha, basta registered ka your names and qualifications are easily searchable sa mscouncil website: http://www.mscouncil.org.nz/assets_mlsb/Uploads/MSC-Register7-April-17.PDF I think I have an idea kung alin ka rito @raspberry0707 :D

I was checking that register list and basta inaral mo 'yung core competencies mare-register ka...

@raspberry0707 I added more info sa edit ko haha. Trigger happy kasi mag-post... :D

Yeah point is I don't think NZ grads and registered people have to sit the AIMS exam. While may TTMRA, meron pa ring informal 'qualifications' kasi like being an NZ citizen having work rights in Aussie... since walang registration sa Aussie kung sobrang good ng qualifications ni MLS Kiwi person I am confident na hindi yan ma-require ng employer niya na mag-exam pa sa AIMS.

Ang tanong ay kung yung OZ MLS ba kailangan pa rin bang mag-aral sa NZ kasi kahit sa NZ grads doon sa listahan (For some) meron pa rin nung grad diploma!

Kung migration purposes naman like what we are doing here... definitely mas fulfulling sa Aussie ma-assess kasi diretso PR at walang kailangan na job offer.

@raspberry0707 @Mia siguru the best to do is email natin ang aims sa kanila natin clarify, they are the most qualified to answer, aside from what you know both.

Registration, certification, accreditation... it is the discretion of the recruiting company anu hihingin para mashortlist ang isang applicant then maemploy.

@Mia curious saan? lumipat jan?

American standard pati ung aral sa atin.. sa NZ at Aus British standard.. kaya nga hanggang Technician lang initial assessment for Pinoys kahit more than 10 years pa experience mo or kahit ngwork ka pa outside Phils.

I think may chance ako ma-assess as Scientist.. kse MS MLS plus work experience as Scientist in Aus.. pero hindi ako sure..
