@chaisan siguro try mo magsearch sa subjects ng masters in law or business admin ng mga local schools dito kung di available sa undergrad. Mas mura. Pero CPA lang magsasabi kung irerecognize nila un pag natapos mo.

@psychoboy That's new info to me. I've been directly mailing my papers to Victoria aus.

foundation level kasi is divided into 2 categories (4mandatory and 5optional subjects). It differs from every ANZSCO occupations (accountant general, mngmt acct, corp treasurer). Baka ung nominated occupation ng wife mo na meet na agad ung 4 mandatory subjects, meaning na take na nya sa undergrad; ung 3 subjects is optional lang just in case she decided to be fully become a CPAA member. This is my opinion only on their labelling between mandatory and optional for migration:

" A. You will be required to complete mandatory core knowledge areas depending on the Australian and New Zealand standard classification of occupations (ANZSCO) code you have nominated. In addition, you must also complete at least a further five optional core knowledge areas. "

Actually, im not hoping na irerecognize pa nila work experience ko. Habol ko lang is 65 pts.

    Age: 30 pts
IELTS: 20 pts (started preparing for this already since I need an 8 for all subtest).
    Educational qualification:??
This where my dilemma is since I need to nominate an Occupation in SOL 1 which is mgmt accountant nga. Since magkahiwalay naman ang awarding of points/assessment for education qualification and skilled employment, i think, i just need to make my qualification as close to my nominated occupation as possible since hindi ako cpa. Kaya I've applied for membership muna.
@Jeebs - is this a skills assessment ba? Mejo naguguluhan ako eh. What my wife took (and passed) was the skills assessment, not the membership per se. This skills assessment is the requirement before you can lodge your expression of intent.

Ang skills assessment is very much straight forward - (1) you take IELTS Academic Module (get a score of at least for all 4 parts), (2) prepare your academic papers (including University Diploma and syllabus of all relevant subjects) and (3) if you wish to have your work experience assessment, submit ka ng employment documents.

Are you in the Philippines currently?

@psychoboy yep still in the phils. Sorry bout the confusion. I still have to take the IELTs before I can have my migration assessment (qualification and skills). Maybe i'll take the exam on dec. While reviewing for the IELts I applied first for membership assessment. You're right na mgkaiba ang membership vs migration assessment nila. When you apply for migration assessment, you dont need to be a member. You only need to become a member if there's gap in your foundation skills and you want to complete it through their program.

What I did is parang preparation for the migration qualifications assessment through their membership pathways para after ko makuha ung IElts results, dire-direcho na pati skills assessment. Mas mabilis na kumbaga sila makakapagdecide kasi they can refer to my educ qualifications in the foundation level.

Does your wife applied for a migration assessment first before applying for membership? Bakit magkaiba ung office ng CPAA na nag assess ng migration vs membership application nya?

Okey, I got you now... Thanks for explaining! :)

Yes, my wife applied for migration assessment first before applying for membership... 3wks after she submitted her migration assessment, that was the time she decided to apply for membership na rin. Unfortunately, di na tinanggap ng Melbourne ang application nya and they suggestion to call the local office here in Singapore.

The rest is history... Offhand right, I felt we were cheated on the membership assessments. The results came in less than 48 hours! ahahhaah... :)

Bahala na muna for now regarding membership said my wife, the important thing is to get the visa first...

    Goodluck in your IELTS

@psychoboy Swerte nyo sir. Nakalagay kasi sa site ng CPAA na they would only consider skills assessment if and only if upon completion of an equivalent bachelors degree covering the all foundation levels. Galing! This would justify na I only need to finish the mandatory subjects for skills assessment (well hopefully). Na excite tuloy ako mag IELTS para makapag pa assess na.

Youre such a big help sir. Goodluck too with regards to your visa and migration.
I'll keep you posted on my status.

Will be lurking in IELTs discussion muna. I must kill it in the exam. Hahaha

    Many Thanks! :)

guys, may nagpasa ba sa inyo ng mga training/seminar certificates? hindi naman naka-list dun sa mga requirements for assessment but im just thinking if it will matter esp sa skills assessment.

another thing, nag mba ako sa Pinas unfortunately half-way lang kc napunta ako Singapore at ala ng chance para ituloy. should i still declare this?

    appreciate your insights:)

    salamat!

training certs di na cguro kailangan pre... we just submitted the CPA certs apart from the scholastic records.

MBA sa pinas, suggest you don't declare it na as it was not finished din naman... no added value sa application mo as far as I can see... :)

Thats normal... We have to accept that Australian standards are higher.
To obtain the job that we had oversea, we need to exert extra effort and study again.
Majority samin rto nag-aaral regardless of age...
It's up to you... Just my two cents worth...
@psychoboy sir pwede po malaman kung anung subjects ng wife mo ung hindi ni-recognize ng CPAA for membership assessment?
Jeebs, pede naman mag study si Mrs, on subjects which wasn't recognized by CPAA.
Let's say, she takes one subject per sem, 2 sem per year. tyaga lang brod. With patience, you will reach your dreams.

    yeah, pwede naman...

but after this, professional level will just have started... :) so it will take a LOT of time and effort!

Thanks for the 2 cents @Sushigurl - appreciate it.

What is puzzling lang is that sa migration assessment pasado lahat ng subjects - sa same subject in the foundation level, hindi napasa when done using membership assessment.

Different standards? I dunno... But it should not be I think :)

@psychoboy, agree. In my case, migration assessment results were same as my membership one.

@psychoboy, when ur wife did membership assessment, did she submit another set of syllabus details? or can they just dig those submitted during the migration assessment?

@viannej08 - We submitted a new set but it was totally an exact copy of what was submitted for the skills/migration assessment. The only difference was skills/migration assessment was done in Melbourne while membership assessment was done locally here in Singapore.

The results came out within 48hrs, which makes it a bit dubious... ehehehe!! :)
