PTE Writing Tips
For writing essay I used E2 language format and applying what I learned from Ielts. Sa intro, sa 1st sentence ni restate ko lang yung question using my own words. Then sa 2nd sentence if one sided lang yung question, I give summary of the reasons ( 2 reasons only). Example, if ang essay is about importance of computers (one sided), eto 2nd sentence ko. Computers are valuable resources as they (1st reason) aid in learning and are (2nd reason) used to communicate with others. Then sa 3rd sentence sasabihin ko para pampahaba-- In this essay, I shall discuss my point of view by giving points and examples about the topic.
Then sa 2nd paragraph, elaborate ko na ang 1St reason. Mga 2 sentences na magsupport sa 1st reason, like if yung 1st reason ko is aid in learning, expand ko ang topic by answering how computers aid in learning,etc. Usually yung reason mo convert mo by asking how, what, when, or who. Tapos sa 3rd sentence, I state examples. Pwede ka din mag add pa ng 4th sentence parang isummarize mo lang ang 2nd paragraph.
Sa 3rd paragraph discuss naman ang 3rd reason same sa ginawa sa 2nd par.
4Th paragraph 1st sentence conclusion, then 2nd sentence recommendation.
If 2 sided naman yung intro pwede mo gamitin yung nasa template like kina Heprex na samples. Then yung 2nd par yung kabilang side, then yung 3rd paragraph yung other side. Tapos same last paragraph.
If medyo nahihirapan ka sa mga ideas, research ka dito sa forum ng mga recent topics. Tapos based dun sa topic reasearch ka anong pwedeng maging points and reasons para may idea ka na ano ilalagay mo sa essay.
Ang key talaga sa writing is dapat marami ka ideas. If nahihirapan ka mag construct ng idea try to research as much as possible. Google mo yung mga common or recent topics on pte writing tapos may mga sample questions dun,, then research mo ano possible answers para sa actual exam may idea kana ano isasagot. Tapos dpat familiarize mo mga connectors (like moreover, therefore, for instance, etc) kasi mas mataas ang grade kapag medyo complex ang sentence na ginagamit mo kesa simple sentences lang.
For summarize written text strategy ko is to first get ano main topic. Then analyze what important points were given, may nangyari ba? If meron ano ang nangyari, kelan nangyari? ano at para kanino ang purpose? Usually kasi sa mga paragraphs naka detail lang pero yung point lang naman dun is parang dinedescribe lang yung main topic. If you can answer who/what, when, how and why about the topic pwede mo na pagdugtungin yung ideas mo thru connectors and form a sentence. If you will have multiple paragraphs, summarize mo muna per paragraph then summarize mo ulit lahat in one sentence

PTE Writing Tips
For writing essay I used E2 language format and applying what I learned from Ielts. Sa intro, sa 1st sentence ni restate ko lang yung question using my own words. Then sa 2nd sentence if one sided lang yung question, I give summary of the reasons ( 2 reasons only). Example, if ang essay is about importance of computers (one sided), eto 2nd sentence ko. Computers are valuable resources as they (1st reason) aid in learning and are (2nd reason) used to communicate with others. Then sa 3rd sentence sasabihin ko para pampahaba-- In this essay, I shall discuss my point of view by giving points and examples about the topic.
Then sa 2nd paragraph, elaborate ko na ang 1St reason. Mga 2 sentences na magsupport sa 1st reason, like if yung 1st reason ko is aid in learning, expand ko ang topic by answering how computers aid in learning,etc. Usually yung reason mo convert mo by asking how, what, when, or who. Tapos sa 3rd sentence, I state examples. Pwede ka din mag add pa ng 4th sentence parang isummarize mo lang ang 2nd paragraph.
Sa 3rd paragraph discuss naman ang 3rd reason same sa ginawa sa 2nd par.
4Th paragraph 1st sentence conclusion, then 2nd sentence recommendation.
If 2 sided naman yung intro pwede mo gamitin yung nasa template like kina Heprex na samples. Then yung 2nd par yung kabilang side, then yung 3rd paragraph yung other side. Tapos same last paragraph.
If medyo nahihirapan ka sa mga ideas, research ka dito sa forum ng mga recent topics. Tapos based dun sa topic reasearch ka anong pwedeng maging points and reasons para may idea ka na ano ilalagay mo sa essay.
Ang key talaga sa writing is dapat marami ka ideas. If nahihirapan ka mag construct ng idea try to research as much as possible. Google mo yung mga common or recent topics on pte writing tapos may mga sample questions dun,, then research mo ano possible answers para sa actual exam may idea kana ano isasagot. Tapos dpat familiarize mo mga connectors (like moreover, therefore, for instance, etc) kasi mas mataas ang grade kapag medyo complex ang sentence na ginagamit mo kesa simple sentences lang.
For summarize written text strategy ko is to first get ano main topic. Then analyze what important points were given, may nangyari ba? If meron ano ang nangyari, kelan nangyari? ano at para kanino ang purpose? Usually kasi sa mga paragraphs naka detail lang pero yung point lang naman dun is parang dinedescribe lang yung main topic. If you can answer who/what, when, how and why about the topic pwede mo na pagdugtungin yung ideas mo thru connectors and form a sentence. If you will have multiple paragraphs, summarize mo muna per paragraph then summarize mo ulit lahat in one sentence

To pay it forward, eto na po yung tips na maibibigay ko.
SPEAKING- dapat confident kayo dito. Big help talaga if master nyo ang template. The key here is to speak fluently na walang hesitation. Practice lang need dito.
Read aloud-practice speaking na parang nagrereport, with changes sa tone ng voice. Sure ako mas mataas score pag ganun.
Repeat sentence- nag work sa akin ang writing 1st letter of the word sa mock test, pero sa actual exam ang bilis ng recording magsalita kaya dapat balance din na nakikinig ka at ngsusulat. Di na ako tumitingin sa note while jotting the 1st letter of each word, I still pay close attention sa sinasabi para di ako mawala.
Describe Image- Again, speak confidently. Kahit lesser content na, just say the obvious based on the picture. Pili lang kayo 2 or 3 points then speak using the template tapos pwede na yung naka template na conclusion, kasi ganun lahat sinabi ko and nakuha ko highest score both mock and actual test. Hehehe..
Answer short question - madali lang ito so mas mainam if makuha nyo lahat, it helps if you read a lot, try searching for General info questions na rin to add to your stored knowledge.
WRITING - practice din katapat nito.
Summarize written text - my technique here is, if multiple paragraphs, summarize 1st each paragraph then yung na summarize mo, paiksiin mo ulit into one sentence. Another tip, alamin kung ano ang topic, about who or what ang sinasabi sa paragraph. Meron akong topic about comparison ng animals at humans in their decision making, parang ganun nakalimutan ko na exactly. So pwede mong sabihin 1st ano yung sinasabi sa animals, then use connectors, I used "in comparison", then sinabi ko ano naman sinasabi about humans. Or if one main topic lang example about fair trade, alamin ano sinasabi about fair trade. State what, where, when, how or why? Use connectors para makabuo ng one sentence.
Write essay - I had 2 expired IELTS results kaya medyo familiar na ako dito. If di ka ganun ka confident sa essay, okay din ang templates but make sure na nasasagot nya yung topic. Most of the templates are for 2 sided approach. Yung essay ko was about Television as something helpful and removes loneliness, then need ko idiscuss state facts and examples to justify the claim, parang ganun I forgot the exact question. So one sided lang sya, walang sinabi na magdiscuss about negative effects of TV. For one sided lang na topic, what I do is sa intro, restate ko ang question then add sa 2nd sentence ng 2 reasons. Eto sample ng intro ko.

2nd sentence- how does tv give entertainment, kahit one point lang then give example.

Also, take advantage ng mga shared notes dito about recent essays na lumabas, nandun yung akin about TV. Based on those topics, make research on the possible points you will need to reason para di na mahirap mag isip if yun din makuha mong topic sa actual exam.
READING - dito ako nahirapan. Na confuse ako sa mga questions promise!! Parang di ko matugma ano dpat sagot esp sa multiple choice and fill in the blanks. Wla akong masyadong tip dito but to practice hard talaga. Use macmillan and other online resources, sa YouTube madami din practice tests. If I have to compare, mas mahirap pa ang actual reading ko than sa mock test. Akala ko magiging mas madali na ang reading sa actual. Kaya anything could be possible, dapat all areas need natin magprepare. Also, it helps if you take note of your time, dpat 2 minutes lang talaga per problem para di maubusan ng time at masagutan til last number.
LISTENING
Summarize spoken text- take notes, list down at least 3 or 4 topics. Identify ano ang topic. Start with saying.. The lecture was about... The speaker discussed... Then he/ she cited.. Moreover, he/she mentioned.. Finally, he/she concluded that...
Choose last word with a beep - importante dito alam mo ang buong thought ng last sentence para mapili ang correct answer.
Multiple choice/ highlight correct summary- take down notes, but importantly understand the entire passage/ lecture.
Write from dictation/ fill in the blanks- madali lang mga to so dapat makinig maigi para masagutan ng tama.
Medyo mahaba na to, basta read and practice talaga ang secret to success. We have a lot of success stories already kaya anyone can do it!! Last tip and the most important, pray, pray and pray. Ask God for guidance, claim it because God will always hear us if we fervently pray. God bless us all!

Mga 2 sentences na magsupport sa 1st reason, like if yung 1st reason ko is aid in learning, expand ko ang topic by answering how computers aid in learning,etc. Usually yung reason mo convert mo by asking how, what, when, or who. Tapos sa 3rd sentence, I state examples. Pwede ka din mag add pa ng 4th sentence parang isummarize mo lang ang 2nd paragraph.
Sa 3rd paragraph discuss naman ang 3rd reason same sa ginawa sa 2nd par.
4Th paragraph 1st sentence conclusion, then 2nd sentence recommendation.
If 2 sided naman yung intro pwede mo gamitin yung nasa template like kina Heprex na samples. Then yung 2nd par yung kabilang side, then yung 3rd paragraph yung other side. Tapos same last paragraph.
If medyo nahihirapan ka sa mga ideas, research ka dito sa forum ng mga recent topics. Tapos based dun sa topic reasearch ka anong pwedeng maging points and reasons para may idea ka na ano ilalagay mo sa essay.
Ang key talaga sa writing is dapat marami ka ideas. If nahihirapan ka mag construct ng idea try to research as much as possible. Google mo yung mga common or recent topics on pte writing tapos may mga sample questions dun,, then research mo ano possible answers para sa actual exam may idea kana ano isasagot. Tapos dpat familiarize mo mga connectors (like moreover, therefore, for instance, etc) kasi mas mataas ang grade kapag medyo complex ang sentence na ginagamit mo kesa simple sentences lang.
For summarize written text strategy ko is to first get ano main topic. Then analyze what important points were given, may nangyari ba? If meron ano ang nangyari, kelan nangyari? ano at para kanino ang purpose? Usually kasi sa mga paragraphs naka detail lang pero yung point lang naman dun is parang dinedescribe lang yung main topic. If you can answer who/what, when, how and why about the topic pwede mo na pagdugtungin yung ideas mo thru connectors and form a sentence. If you will have multiple paragraphs, summarize mo muna per paragraph then summarize mo ulit lahat in one sentence
Another tip also in writing as much as possible do not repeat the same words. If you dont have much stored knowledge about synonyms okay lang. Practice and Research is the key. Kaya malaki ang help sa akin yung pag research sa mga common or recent topics kasi while practicing pwede akong mghanap ng synonyms then mas madali ko syang ma recall sa actual exam kasi nagawa ko na sya before. Tapos if meron kayong word na ma encounter na parang hirap kayo mag elaborate, google nyo din anong synonym or phrases na pwedeng same meaning ng word. Share ko yung nilista kong mga synonyms na possible na magagamit sa mga essay kasi minsan these are the topics commonly asked.
