@rj09 Ang Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) po is like the PRC sa Pinas. All medical professionals dumadaan po diyan. Kailangan po munang maregister sa AHPRA bago makapagpractice dito sa Australia, ang Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) naman po is the assessing body here in Australia for Nurses and Midwifes. For migration purposes po ito. Pre-requisite po ng ANMAC is registration with AHPRA.

@rj09 So in summary po, for your sister to work and migrate in Australia, she should be first registered with AHPRA and have her skills assessed by ANMAC.

Step 1: Correct, she should first sit in and achieve the minimum requirements for the IELTS/PTE or OET exam. For AHPRA, the english test is valid for 2 years, for Immigration purposes, its 3.

Step 2: After she achieves the English exam required by AHPRA, she needs to apply registration by submitting the necessary documents to AHPRA. Her application will be rejected and she will be referred to a bridging program. After the bridging program, she needs to reapply once again and she will then be registered with AHPRA.

Step 3: After registering with AHPRA, she needs her skills to be assessed by ANMAC. After the assessment, she can now apply for EOI and then later on lodge for PR.

    08/11/15 - IELTS
    16/12/15 - AHPRA registration application
14/01/16 - AHPRA refusal and referral to BP

    03/12/16 - AHPRA registered
04/12/16 - Job offered and accepted (457 Sponsorship)

@rj09 Hindi po. Kasi pag mag apply ka ng PR, kailanganan munang ma assess ni ANMAC yung skills nya for the nominated occupation which means kailangan muna syang maging RN sa Australia and registered with AHPRA. And bago ka maregister sa AHPRA, kailangan mong mag bridging or mag conversion course.

So even before looking at that migration stuff, sa IELTS nalang po muna sya mag concentrate. Encourage and let her try to achieve a higher score, hindi lang 7 in all bands. Kasi magagamit din niya yung points later on pag magapply na sya ng residency.

Oo nga! I think I have to start working on getting more points, kasi as of now minimum lang ako for 189 and 190. Baka matapos na lang ang fiscal year, wala pa ding invite na makuha.

@nancypereyra You need 65+ for all subtests sa PTE. Not sure what comes next kasi through reciprocity ko nakuha yung AuRN ko.. but marami namang sites and forums dyan. Sa mismong website ng AHPRA, I'm sure may mahahanap ka doon.

@nancypereyra I was working in Abu Dhabi not long ago. Yep, requirement ng AHPRA ang lahat ng registration mo (COGS), sa lahat ng bansa kang nagwork as an RN. Di mo na kailangan ng payslip sa employer mo since PR na kayo, di kn dadaan sa ANMAC or DIBP for verification. Employment certificate is fine, hindi sila masyado nagbabase jan dito. They look more into your character references. They will call, email or whatever they can to try and contact your references. Doon po sila talaga nag babase.

@dy3p salamat po sa reply.. may tanong pa po ako. I have COE na from my previous employer dated last year (2016) pwede pa kaya yun or hihingi ako ng bago? and I have a gap of 1year from 2015 feb- 2016april... bale 2012 to present ako nag work dto sa AUH pero yun may gap ako. u think makaka affect sya sa app ko sa AHPRA? but before 2012 I have 6 years hosp exp in Phils... OPD ka dto sa AUH dati? (sorry po daming tanong)

@nancypereyra hindi mo need ng recent coe pwedi parin magamit yong previous coe na on hand sayo as long it is stated there na full staff nurse ka at ilang hours per week ang duty mo. Gap experience will matter but it will depend how you sell yourself sa employer. Besides working in UAE will be an additional factor to consider by the employer.

Better pass the PTE soonest possible and process your ahpra kasi madali ma ubos ang slot sa mga school na nag offer ng bridging course for 2018.

@nancypereyra try to obtain superior marks narin sa PTE mo para dual purpose narin sya if you are planning to apply for permanent residency.

@nancypereyra A recent COE is not really needed or required but of course, a much recent and updated (especially if you changed areas of duty) is recommended. Why not take one if you can right?. Gap of work is alright as long as i-include mo sya sa CV mo and why you had GAP in that. Doesn't matter kung anong reason, just declare it. I had a gap aswell, about 3 months lang. No problems naman with AHPRA. As with the employer, they will not really dwell on that detail as long as I reckon maybe if its more than 3-5 years of gap. Your previous experience and your character reference will matter most. I worked in the CVICU of SKMC for almost 8 years.

@nancypereyra oo naman, madalil ka naman makakahanap ng work. I'm sure. Marami nursing jobs dito, all around Australia. Maraming fresh grad din and yet they land a job. Mas maganda salary package jan, pero mas maganda naman lifestyle and values dito and hindi mo nabibili yun kahit gano pa kalaki ang sahod :)
