@rai102302, happy new year, sorry po late response. Ang ma advice ko lng po sa inyo if budget permits and if you are batting for superior mark, try nyo po bili ulit ng mock exam, ako po nakarami akong bili ng mock exam para lang mag trial and error sa speaking and writing to get the best strategy and worth it nman po since identical machines ang gnagamit ng mock and actual.

Sa speaking kpag nka 70+ po kayo more likely you can get superior sa actual since maganda tlga headset nila unlike sa mock exam na gumagamit tyo ng cheap headsets.

Sa writing po, kpg maganda po yung scores nyo sa Grammar, WD, Vocab, it means maganda na po yung Essay, SWT and SST nyo, try to focus na lng sa iba pang nag attribute ng scores sa writing.

Tips for would-be takers:
1. SPEAKING:

In general, speak slowly/normal pace and try to observe proper enunciation, intonation, pauses, etc...Pag sobrang bilis kasi baka di macapture ng software yung sinasabi mo...

Kahit di related ang content mo at least you can score high in Fluency...Try to practice speaking in public or lead aloud some short texts...Try to finish up to 35 secs...After that, count to 3 then you can immediately press NEXT

Retell Lecture: NOTE TAKING is the key...try to write as much key points as you can...It helps if you develop the habit of reading some essays to familiarize yourself with a variety of topics...Sa start pa lang ng lecture, close your eyes and focus to get the main topic.This is VERY IMPORTANT...Once na identify mo na ang topic ng lecture, kahit i-paraphrase mo na lang ang remaining points mo, try to form simple sentences using your written words...

Repeat sentence: PIKIT MATA tapos i-visualize mo na tina-type sa harap mo yung first few words...Nakakatulong din yung iintindihin mo yung actual context or meaning...

Nakatulong po sakin ang Cambridge IELTS na listening materials...At least na familiarize ako sa iba ibang accent..

Sa bahay namin, ni-request ko rin yung mga chikiting dito na mag-ingay at minsan sa maingay na location ako nag ppractice para masanay...

Describe Image: Always START WITH "The bar graph/line chart/pie chart/picture/diagram,etc shows/illustrates/depicts (note observe correct grammar lalo na subject-verb agreement)...+ TITLE of GRAPH + X-AXIS"

Sa title ng graph, do not always read outright, may cases na mas may sense if i-paraphrase mo lang
Try to skip the values on the Y-axis...it is your enemy hehe...Pero pag simple lang yung graph, try to estimate actual values, filler din yun para umabot ka sa 35 secs..

Key Point 1: Mention the lowest-hightest, max-min, etc...
Key Point 2: state any stand-out feature like trends, outlier, etc...
Pag complex yung graph, simplehan lang...ignore other aspects

CONCLUSION: Very important...Dapat related sa content ng graph...Dito sa forum na mention yung template like "Overall, the graph is clear and concise..." Uhhmmm., I don't advise using this...Dapat po kasi yung may kinalaman sa content mismo ng graph like prediction sa growth rate or restatement ng key points basta mag start ka lang sa "Overall/In general/to conclude/To summarize"

Una sa lahat gusto ko magpasalamat kay Lord at sa lahat ng mga nagpost dito sa forum.. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng tulong nyo... sa wakas nakuha ko na din ang superior mark.

Initially, I was only aiming for proficient score.. pero tumaas na kasi ung bracket ng points ng skills ko para makakuha ng invitation.. kaya no choice ako kundi makuha ung superior.

PREPARATION TIPS

SPEAKING
Ito ang weakness ko.. nahirapan ako hanapin kung ano ung tamang technique kaya ung score ko dito is inde rin consistent.. haha Ang ginawa ko practice dito is magbasa ng malakas ng 2 articles araw araw. Nag-practice din ako sa youtube (PTE GOLD) para sa describe image and re-tell lecture.

WRITING
Sa lahat ng part, ito ung consistent na mataas ako.. Inaral ko muna ung paggawa ng Essay.

Once naaral ko na un, saka ko kinabisado ung ibang part ng essay template ni Steve Fernandez na napost din dito..

Mahalaga na alam nyo ung essay structure kaysa sa template kasi kung makalimutan nyo ung template at least makakaproceed pa rin based on your knowledge on the essay structure.

LISTENING

Kelangan masanay ung tenga natin makarinig ng english as much as possible. Kaya ang ginagawa ko nakikinig ako lagi ng TED Talk at BBC.. Di rin ako masyado nanonood ng American series.. Pero since kelangan ko ma-expose sa English.. natuto ako manood ng american series.. haha tinigil ko na din muna ung panonood ng tagalog movies at korean drama.. haha

READING
Nagbabasa ako everyday ng 2 articles from ScienceDaily website and editorial from Philippine Daily Inquirer. Beneficial din sa writing ang pagbabasa ng mga english articles kasi magkaka-idea kayo on how to write a good essay.

OTHER TIPS
Learn more collocation words. For this, I listed all the english words na nabasa ko at narinig ko na inde familiar sa kin sa isang notebook. Ito rin ung ginawa ko ever since nag-IELTS ako.. If may time, lagi ko binabasa un.. makakatulong un sa reading at writing..

Aside from that, very helpful din ang tips and tricks ng E2 Language sa youtube.

EXAM TIPS

SPEAKING
Observe a moderate and consistent pacing for higher oral fluency and stress the words to achieve a higher pronunciation score. Bukod dun, kelangan din mag-stop sa mga punctuation marks pag nagbabasa..

Ginamit ko din dito ung describe Image and Re-tell lecture na template napost na din dito sa forum.. Un lang din ginamit ko sa lahat ng exam attempts ko..

Wag titigil sa pagsasalita pag inde alam ang sasabihin.. basahin mo na lang kung ano ung mga nakikita mo.. hehe

Sa repeat sentence, mas effective sa kin ung pakinggan wholeheartedly with all your might hahaha ung nagsasalita kesa nagsusulat ng first letter of every word.. di ko nakuha lahat ng items sa part na toh.. Ang ginawa ko lang is sinabi ko lang ung narinig ko basta wag lang titigil..

WRITING
Template lang din ang ginamit ko dito na nashare na rin sa forum and I use collocation words a lot as in.. Eto cguro din ung dahilan kung bakit mataas ung writing ko.. Time management din and kelangan dito.. for Essay part, pag alam ko kukulangin ako sa oras.. dumidiretso na ako agad sa conclusion.. remaining time ina-allot ko sa pag-ayos ng grammar at pagcheck ng spelling and pag-singit ng iba pang sentences.. I always target 270+ words essay.

READING
Mahirap ang reading at limited din ang oras.. kaya I allot more time on re-order paragraph and Fill in the blanks kasi mas maraming items tong part na toh..

For multiple choice part, I always read and understand the question first before reading the article.

Iniintindi ko din mabuti ung binabasa ko para masagutan ko din sya agad.. If lagi kayo nagbabasa ng english articles.. tingin ko madali na lang sa inyo ang reading...

LISTENING
Limited din and time dito.. Kung ano marinig mo un na un.. di mo na pde ulitin ung recording.. kaya kelangan mo makinig ng maigi at sumagot agad..

LIFE TIPS
Never Give Up on your Dreams! Ung last take ko umay na umay na ko haha.. di na rin ako masyado nag-aral haha.. Pinaubaya ko na lang kay Lord lahat at di naman nya ako pinabayaan dahil binigay na din nya sa kin in his perfect time..

"God answers when you least expect it."

Sa mga ilang beses na nag-take, wag kayo mawalan ng pag-asa.. imposible na wlang papupuntahan lang ng effort nyo.. trust me

Better review the PTE scoring guide sa pearson site para kuha mo kung ano ang mataas magbigay na question type. Sa pronunciation mo naman, I believe it has something to do with the quality of mic mo during exam. or the clarity.

Sa lahat po nang nakaka-experience ng low scores sa pronunciation and oral fluency on Mock exams, nadiscover ko na pag naka-charge ung laptop, nagpproduce sya ng static or long beep sounds during recording, which I think nakakaapekto sa scoring. Try to remove the charger and record yourself again, you'll see a big difference. Hopefully, makatulong sa iba.

*Not sure though sa desktop computers. Can someone confirm this for us?

During actual exams, we need to check kung may static/beep sounds, just to make sure.

Hello po! Newbie here, nag exam ako kahapon Jan 2, 2018 at nakuha ko na ang result ng PTE scores ko, and I must say na sobrang helpful talaga ng thread na to, pati na din ang sa pagmomotivate.

Twice ako nag exam, etong pangalawa nakuha ko na ang target scores ko. above 65 lahat.

first take : L- 67, R- 65, S- 41, W- 69
second take : L- 68, R- 75, S- 67, W - 72

Share ko lang din ginawa ko.

Speaking

Read Aloud: Binigkas ko xa ng mabilis this time ng walang arte arte sa pagpronounce unlike nung una ko, inaarte ko pa at medyo mabagal. take note ambaba pa ng pronounciation score ko nung una.

Describe image: totoo yung cnsbe nila na wala sa content ang grade, dahil nung una kong exam conscious ako sa content, this time sa sobrang wala na kong masabi pati mga kulay ng image sinabi ko na, kunwari the tree is brown, the leaves are green. basta kailangan lang talga, tuloy tuloy ang salita. Sabay gamit din ako ng mga format na mga sinuggest dto.

Repeat Sentence: Hindi ko naman to naperfect pero kung ano ung pagkakaintindi ko yun ang sinsbe ko.

Writing: minaximize ko lang ung word count kahit hindi na maxado connected sinsabe ko, basta ang mahalaga correct grammar.

Sabi nya try daw po nya but ng trial exam bka sakali. Anu po sa tingin nio sir ok po ba mag trial exam at sa ika 4th nya before sya exam mag lalaan talaga sya time mag aral at review po. thanks po godbless

Pano po study habit ni hubby mo? San po ba sya nahihirapan? Pano po pacing nya sa speaking, kase read aloud affects reading scores din. I suggest you review the scoring guide ni PTE tapos guide mo sya kung san malaki impact na scoring, at dapat yung mga items na yun is maperfect nya in his way. Sa time management po, kamusta? lage po ba syang nag mamadali? Natry na po ba nya yung offline mock exam, since wala yung time, try nya lagyan ng limit. Let me know po kung san.

@Heprex hello po sir di p po na try ung offline mock exam suggest ko po sa kanya tapos sa reading at speaking po sya hirap sa pte pero gulat sya this 3rd take speaking nkapasa pte at reading lng sablay. Sundan ko po ung forum na send mo po then papa aral ko sa kanya po lahat. Saka sabi ko po araw2 kahit 4hrs a day kc sobra din po kc parang 1 oras lng ng aaral araw2 eto nkaraan dec kc nghahabol po sa work. Pero yun po na realize din nya kailangan mag gugol ng time 3-4hrs a day para pag sasabak n sya ready na. Bale sir ask ko sya sabi nya sa 4th cguro maipapasa n nya kc medyo gamay n daw po nya kahinaan nya sa time lng po saka more practice n rin. Salamat sir ha next take nya balitaan po kita. Waaaahh, I'm sooooo happy guys! Nakagraduate na din. Maraming sa lahat sainyo, sa tulong, sa encouragement at sa mga tips lalo na kila @Supersaiyan @jerm_au16 @albertus1982 at sa lahat. I took it yesterday sa RELC at kaning 3pm lumabas result. Eto ata ang best advise na mabibigay ko sa mga magtake ➡️ focus and have faith at makukuha nyo ang gusto nyo. @Pandabelle0405, I suggest po na magbasa sya ng kahit 2-3 articles lang sa sciencedaily.com kahit wag na mag hourly basis para di sya maburn out kasi kapag sinabing 1-3 hours daily sa isang tao parang nakakasawa at nakakatamad gawin basta 2-3 articles lang doon araw - araw.

Noong una tinatamad ako gawin to at alam ko may shortcut para maka kuha agad ng mataas na grade sa reading pero walang shortcut pala at habang tumatagal na ginagawa ko yung routine na yun nagulat ako ksi may big improvement at tumaas scores ko nung nag mock exam ako.

Eto lang nman yung mga skills na nadevelop sken:

1. Improved concentration and focus - since mas mahaba yung articles sa sciencedaily at kapag nasanay sya doon, no match na yung mga items sa actual PTE. Trust me! Dati isang paragraph lang basahin ko inaantok na ko at wala na ko sa concentration kaya nag reresult na di ko maintindihan.
2. Improved comprehension - in limited time, yaka nyang maintindihan ng isang basa yung mga items sa actual PTE since gaya ng sabi ko mas mahahaba yung articles sa sciencedaily. Di sya magka problem sa Time Management
3. Improved scores - Trust me! Effective yun sa lahat since matagal ng adviced dito sa forum yan
