@missabgl Hi, yes your understanding of the process is correct. As for your questions:

    1. I believe one application is sufficient and simpler to manage, and yes, kung sino ang may mataas na points siya nalang ang primary applicant. The results of your English exam might help you decide which one should be the primary applicant; whoever gets the higher score gets more points so aim to get Superior (20 pts din yun). Yung dependent just has to have at least Competent English and positive skills assessment to claim points for partner skills. If both of you have Proficient English, your overseas work experience could be the deciding factor.

Are you planning to migrate to Australia soon (like lodging your EOI in less than a year)? If not, I would recommend you and your fiance stay in your jobs at least a year more so when you do your skills assessment and they deduct a year off the work experience, your fiance can claim at least 5 years of relevant work experience (they usually consider the first year as rookie year and therefore does not count as a "skilled" work experience). That's only if they deduct one year (some cases they might deduct more years from work exp). If you apply for skills assessment as you are now, you might not get any work experience points if they deduct a year from your exp (3.5 - 1 = 2.5 years exp = no points), while your fiance can probably get some points (5 - 1 = 4 years exp = 5 points).

    2. Maybe you can backread the EA assessment thread to see what other forumers have done.

    3. There's a PTE thread in this forum, they provide tips and review materials there.

@athelene @missabgl hi there, please see my comments below:

    3. EOI
    4. Wait for ITA

Q1. Yes, since both occupations are in MLTSSL, 189 subclass may apply but still premature to decide what type of visa to apply until you have the exact points on hand. With EOI stage these days being more challenging and competitive, best not to be fixated with just 189 subclass. One application for both will suffice.

Q2. CDR with skilled employment assessment. If you have the budget, both of you should apply to gain partner points. Best to do skills assessment as soon as possible. It really doesn't matter if work experience will be deducted, no need to wait another year to apply for skills assessment. You've got decent points as it is anyway. That additional year (and points) can still be gained whilst your EOI is on queue.

Q3. PTE vs IELTS, that's an individual choice. I suggest to read and compare these two as they differ in delivery. Find which of these 2 you'll be comfortable with. I find a lot of my clients (even English speakers) get better results in PTE but it can't be assumed that it's easier as I have some who score higher in IELTS than in PTE.

    All the best!

@RheaMARN1171933 @missabgl Thanks for the correction. I read/understood #3 as submitting the EOI, but you're right. Then the 189/190 visa application comes after getting the ITA, then submitting documents. Regarding the skills assessment, won't the points advice be based only on the work experience assessed at the time of assessment application? Kailangan pa po ba ipa-reassess yung work experience gained after the full skills assessment (experience gained while waiting for ITA)?

@athelene the outcome letter will state the start date skilled employment is recognised. The purpose of re-assessment is when you want to update your employment or anything in your circumstance which has changed since the assessment outcome.

@vcab101 my knowledge is just limited to Australian immigration law and process. I'm not a medical expert so can't answer your question unfortunately :) though I have not experienced any visa application refused due to body tattoos.

@RheaMARN1171933 sir, curious lang, baka may idea ka or familiar, or natanong na before, since medyo mabagal na processing for 189, nagsubmit ako ng EOI last Feb specific for 189 lang, may impact ba pag inedit ko ngayon yung EOI para sama ko na rin yung application for 190 na rin? TIA.

@RheaMARN1171933 You mean if I change jobs or get promoted and I want my new situation recognized, I need an re-assessment? But if I just continue with the last job listed in the full skills assessment (meaning I've gained additional years of experience), I don't need a re-assessment?

    Hello!
I just received my ACS assessment and I was assessed NOT closely related to my nominated ANZCSO. I applied to Systems Analyst and they're recommending me for ICT Support Engineer. The problem is I am really hoping to apply for visa 189 and I have confirmed with 2 agencies (Pre-assessment) that I am suitable for Systems Analyst. I am at a lost and not sure how to proceed. Can someone advise please? I believe the process is I will need a state sponsorship before I can apply for EOI? how can I check which states are open to seek sponsorship?

@Ellabelle You'll have to weigh your options on this one--either you appeal to ACS for reassessment (maybe check the ACS thread if someone had modified their COE to list skills oriented more to the nominated occupation), or consider applying as ICT Support Engineer under 190. If your qualifications and skills are really more fitting to the ICT Support Engineer occupation, you might have better chances of getting a positive assessment that way.

You can lodge two EOIs at the same time, one for 189 and another for 190 if you are qualified for both. If a state wishes to sponsor you, they will send you a pre-invite and then you'll have to submit your documents to them for approval. Once they approve your application for state sponsorship, you'll get your ITA.

Please check anzscosearch or delta immigration websites to see the states that can sponsor you based on your occupation.

@athelene thank you so much for you quick response! i am at a lost talga. I actually laid out my ACS application to match skills for Systems Analyst but they still recommended me for ICT Support Engineer. The problem is parang ACT and Tasmania na lang ata ang open for visa 190. So If I have my ACS assessment na for ICT Support Engineer and PTE results derecho na to apply for 190 visa EOI tama po? again thank you for your reply really appreciate it :)

@Ellabelle Maybe you can backread the posts in the ACS thread, baka meron similar case sa iyo and you can follow their strategy to get a positive assessment. Which state/territory do you plan to go? Have you looked at job opportunities in ACT and Tasmania that you might be interested in? Sayang din kasi yung opportunity for sponsorship, and 2 years isn't that long naman.

If you get your positive skills assessment, PTE results and other requirements for 190 visa, yes you can lodge your EOI na and wait for pre-invite (190)/ITA (189).

@athelene hi, thank you for answering my queries. i have questions though with regards to EA assessment. what kind of assessment should we get:

    Competency Demonstration Report +
Relevant Skilled Employment Assessment (+$320 Excl. GST) OR Australian Engineering Qualification Assessment?

on which report are we gonna get the score for our education?

    thank you.

@athelene if you were my client, I would advice you that you will be able to claim points as long as your employment circumstance has not changed. And if in case you've got a new employment and by having this recognised it will have a positive impact on your points, I will then suggest to have your new employment recognised by applying for skilled work assessment.

Just curious, which stage are you in your visa application or have you been granted a visa already?

@missabgl you will need to apply for CDR + skilled employment assessment. FYI, EA does not award you with points. You actually need a positive outcome from the assessment so you can claim points when you're in the EOI stage.

@RheaMARN1171933 I see. Thank you for the information and advice, I really appreciate it! I have not lodged my EOI nor applied for skills assessment, as I am still considering whether to get it done right away or to wait until I get more work experience (from a new job) before applying for skills assessment so I can claim more points.

@athelene I don't know your circumstance but I always advice aspiring migrants to get things started now rather than later. Waiting longer usually increases the chances of missing out on opportunities more than anything else. Rules and policies change frequently to a point where keeping up becomes a challenge so best to get things under way now.

@RheaMARN1171933 Hmm, I haven't really thought of it that way. And yeah, I've heard that Australia does change their laws very often. Then I'll get started on my skills assessment; hopefully I can get a positive assessment~ *fingers crossed* Thank you po uli sa advice!

Hi Good day to everyone. Makikitanong lang po sana ako. Newbie here sa pinoyau.

Right now meron akong positive skills assessment, 60 pts for 189 or 65 pts for 190. Yung positive assessment ko sa VETASSESS medyo matagal na Aug 2016 (3 years valid, until Aug 2019) pero nitong Dec 2017 lang ako nag lodge (nag aral ako abroad for 2016-2017 kaya napatigil process). Yung ielts ko naman is 7 all bands lang, May 2016 (up to 3 years valid nirerecognize daw for australia visa purposes).

I am considering to take the PTE-Academic test para kung sakaling superior, magawang 70 /75 points ko. Pero hingi lang sana ako advise sainyo kung sulit pa ba gastusan kung asa "regional difficulty" yung occupation.

Pasensiya na po at wala akong ibang mapagtanungan. Sana matulungan niyo ako. Thank you ulit and have a nice day everyone!

Hi sorry for interrupting the thread, kapag buong family yung tumira sa US, kailangan ba pati yung wife and kids ikuha ng fbi clearance? I lived in the US for almost 3 years with my family (wife and 2 kids) and I'm planning to go thru the fbi process para umaandar na bago pa ako magkaroon ng ITA. I have just lodged my EOI last Feb.

@timbangers police clearance is time sensitive as it's only valid for 12 months. I always advice my clients to submit this once the case officer requests for it. For some reason, amongst my clients (Brits and Filipinos), I notice how Filipinos prefer to submit this document along with the medical clearance prior to the case officer's request despite the advice. Nothing wrong with submitting them sooner though but it just means the possibility of re-doing these clearances should the decision timeline of the visa application takes longer. Anyway, should you wish to prepare this sooner, just be prepared with the possibility that you might re-do it.

Common mistake in KSA. you can attach the bank statement too. amount in payslip should match with the amount reflected in your bank statement for salary received for that month.
