@DonaP I would be thankful if you answer my question :) If we passed the exam and got the positive assessment. When we go to australia we can directly look for a job in our field(lab) and no need for extra courses or classes?

@sh09122985518 Hi! I am actually still here in the Phils, waiting for the Sept exam result to be released. :) Passing the exam would mean we are qualified to work as a MLS, same level as their MLS. But we still need to apply for a visa. Hope this helps. Or is there anybody else here who can enlighten us more about the next step after passing the exam?

@RejNaix11 yung problem na lang is finding work na magha-hire sayo sa designation na gusto mo... I think common problem na mahirap makahanap ng work in this field kasi hindi need ng occupational registration sa Australia ng medical lab workers... and pwedeng kahit ibang course (biotech etc) makapasok sa medical diagnostic lab...

@RejNaix11 Hi.. hindi pwedeng magwork as MLT or MLS dito sa Australia kung walang AIMS assessment kahit may PR Visa na. Isa sa requirement ng employers ung AIMS for Pinoy MTs (and other overseas trained MLS) pag naghahanap ng work dito. However, you can still work in other roles sa Lab kung wala kang AIMS Assessment, like Data Entry or Pathology Collector (but you need a certificate course for this one).

@Mia hindi pwedeng magwork as MLT or MLS ang ibang science courses.

Kse you're not working in our profession. You're a nurse and based in New Zealand. So don't hijack our thread, as if you know everything. Maybe you can do that sa thread ng nurses.

At hindi dahil walang registration kaya mahirap humanap ng work. It's because konti lang ang opening. One or two MLS job opening per month in the whole of Australia. Hundreds of applicants ang kalaban mo sa isang job opening.

Also, automation lessen the need for more MLS or MLT. Pati pagreview ng blood film automated na. Although ngsisimula pa lang mag-explore ang hospitals dito to automate reviewing of blood films, may machines na on the market na dine-demo sa ibang hospitals.

@mccontre It is very competitive. Ganon kahirap maghanap.

Although hindi imposible, with perseverance and a little bit of luck pwede ka makahanap in 1 month. Wag ka lang mapili sa work at kung saang State or Suburb. Kung aapplyan mo lahat (like what I did), mkakahanap ka din.

@raspberry0707 sorry but I know of one person na hindi naman kinailangan ng AIMS assessment to be hired as lab technician pero Permanent Resident na prior to becoming an employee in the industry... that might be just one isolated case and it might have been possible only to that person so I'm sorry everyone for generalising... better leave the employment related questions to persons like you who know more. Di rin pala ako nurse...

If you feel na misleading lahat ng mga na post ko sa thread na to, please feel free to correct anything. If anything it is my fault for not providing context with my answers and will try to do my better from now on. And if what I'm hearing or reading from them isn't really the real picture, then I am happy to be corrected and guided since I shared before it is in my best interests to know what's going in on the industry because I have a partner working in this industry so wala akong masamang intentions on keeping a positive outlook and sharing what I know from asking people who's there. I just hope you didn't have to be so combative.
