hi po. plan po namin mag apply ng husband ko ng PR sa Aus.ako po yung entry kasi nasa medical field po ako.yung husband ko po, Nasa bank po sya nagtatrabaho ngayon dito sa pinas with 5 years experience.. may idea po ba kayo if ok ang hiring sa Aus sa mga ganong trabaho for my husband? thanks po sa sasagot.

@jennyC nasa medical field din ako, nursing specifically. hindi ako masyadong familiar sa hiring sa bank pero maraming work dito as long as you have working rights. Ang kung PR ung target niyo, lalong mas ok. Naghintay din ako nang matagal after taking my bridging course sa Pinas habang nagpprocess ng PR visa. Wala ako work non kaya wala akong ginawa araw araw kundi mag-apply for work. Sad to say hindi talaga ko nakakuha ng work without PR. Pero after ko makuha ung PR visa ko, wala pang 10 days kami sa Australia, nagkaron na ko agad ng interview then nakapagstart na ko sa work the next month.

For others na wala pang PR, makakakuha din kayo ng work basta may working rights. Yun nga lang sana ready din kayong magtake ng work kahit hindi masyadong related sa profession niyo for the mean time.

Baka makarelate din kayo sa story ko. You can check out my blog:

@mhej Yep. This isn't like SG where you can do it on the side while visiting the country then "come back" once the employer sorts out your pass.

Most above-board jobs ask for your work rights and do a background check first before you get to sign the contract. You'll also need to declare your TFN to a new employer.

The govt systems are also integrated and everything is online. Your visa details and driver licences are used to validate your mobile plan or your identity when opening bank accounts for example.

@brucedenz congrats! May i ask ano profession mo. Btw i recently received my PR visa confirmation. Job hunting ang focus ko ngayon. Do you know any engineering professional working sa telecoms industry? Medyo torn kase ako kung lipad ako sa OZ and dyan mag-apply or should i secure a job first by applying overseas.

it took me 300++ offshore applications - 1 year after ng PR Grant

it took me 10++ skype interviews but not hired.

it got 2 face to face interviews when we landed here.

Then I was blessed with a job related to my skills and field a month after we arrived here (during winter). Stress free compared to where we came from.

    Takot, nasa isip lang yan.

@DreamerA ako nasa 50km din layo ng work ko, ginagawa ko is drive papuntang station (10 mins) at iiwan ang car sa commuter's car park tapos sakay nalang ng train papuntang CBD. Approximately nasa 1.5hrs total commute time ko, which is ok lang para sakin kasi pwede ko ituloy ang tulog ko sa train.

@DreamerA basta sa field mo yan at gusto mo, i go mo lang. Mahirap kasi minsan makakuha kaagad ng work sa field tlga natin. Kailangan ng local experience, etc. Tyagain mo yan for maybe a year, or kaya hanap ka ng room lang na malapit dun.

Mahirap din naman commute sa pinas, kaya tiis lang muna sa simula. :) Good luck sa yo.

if this is your first job here in Au at medyo challenging ang job hunting s field mo, go for it basta worth it ang pay at work experience na makukuha mo..
check mo lng paano ka mag commute if wala ka pa car.

may 50KM kasi na accessible s public transport.

    @DreamerA

Mine was 48KM travel though 1 transfer s train plus bus sya and takes me 40 mins s umaga and around 1hr sa pag uwe.. ok nmn..

after ilang months, i moved to a closer location.

I chose that way kasi it took me almost 3 months to have a job here so hndi ko na pinakawalan.

@DreamerA don't worry bago k p lng pla dito, u will eventually get use to public transport,
try using google map app or if you're in VIC download PTV app (public transport Victoria)

helpful yan about planning your trip, para sa timetable ng bus, trams at trains.. all the best
