@DreamerA you are lucky n may sideline ka agad.

oo concern nila tlga ang transport if medyo may kalayuan ang work place.. in my case, sinasabi ko na, i am willing to move somewhere closer to work if i get hired, during interview.

having a car and license to drive dito is a plus tlga, if driving k na s pinas madali na mag aral dito mag drive konting adjustment n lng s habits..

pasa p din ng pasa, you'll never know alin ang pwede sayu.. tyagain mo lng yan.. all the best

If you don't mind me asking bro, how did you sustain your living during those 8 months? With your experience what can you advise po pra sa mga aspiring migrants po (me one of them) with regards sa pocket money na babaonin. Sapat na kaya yang 600k-800k php na baon for lets say to the extreme of 18 months job hunting.

@Captain_A ah ganun po ba. cge po salamat po sa advise.

One more thing, I had a conversation with a US based guy before, i just couldn't remember san ko sya nakausap basta its all about migrating to US ang ininquire ko tapos he shed some input. Him knowing my background and on how much I make annually, sabi pa nya I'd be on the lowest level of the food chain if I settle for 90,000 usd in that particular state (can't remember exactly if it was NY, florida, or illinois he was talking about basta andyan sa tatlo)..I'm a bit worried lng kc sa mga nakikita kong mga job post at seek.com.au yung mga roles na nakikita ko offering the same package 90k aud annual in average eh im not sure lang kung enough package na ba yun since may tax deductable na in AU dba po..eh sa dubai where I had my experience getting a solid $8100 usd a month for the past 2 years of my employment without tax that goes straight to my bank account every middle of the 4th week before the end of month. Kaya medyo nakakaworry lang din. I'm trying to weigh my options kasi if to push studying in AU and be recognized/certified with my desired occupation na pina assess ko with vetassess...or kahit yung actual profession ko but I have a lesser hope in achieving it.

I'd be glad to know some input about my concern. Thanks in advance.

@Pinoy_Imphotep I'm not sure what a Building Inspector earns here, but if you are earning $8.1K USD tax-free, that's too LIT! Director level na yan sa global bank that I work for LESS tax pa.

@mhej like i've said i can see some job posting in seek.com.au seeking for building inspectors offering 80k-90k aud annually or 150 aud per inspection (4 inspections per day)...but i dont know yet whats it like to live in a developed country where there is tax. My salary is just a quarter or maybe 1/3 of what my line director is getting. I'm just a project based employee, so once the project gets finished im done if wala ng ibang project malilipatan.

@DreamerA wla naman naging problema husband ko on GAPS with his employment. He was doing odds jobs for almost 2 years dahil ang hirap makahanap ng work inline to his previous experience dahil temp visa lang kami that time. Ang important may local experience ka kahit odd jobs dahil may work references ka na maprovide.

@Captain_A As much as i wanted to stay but sad to say dubai only lives in hype and that'ts the truth. Its recession time right there at the moment. Expats or most of the non local residents are being sent home. Only the affordable expats gets retained and stays ofcourse with the locals. Iba iba ang salary appetite ng mga expats doon. No one is guaranteed with a brighter future but only temporary. Even the undergrad students are greatly affected not just the professionals. Primary/secondary schools are being shut down, expenses are now doubled since 2014..including the accommodation and real estate. Its so funny how these real estate gurus make up with their losses in their trade by jacking up more of their prices while everyone are leaving and no one is no longer interested in buying their assets. So they end up leasing it to 3rd world origin expats. lol

@DreamerA wala naman negative impact yung gaps sa work experience. tulad ko parang may gap ako nung 2014 kaya ni explain ko lang anong reason ng gap at yung latest is dahil nga matindi competition sa field ko kaya medyo nahihirapan makahanap ng work pero all in all wala naman silang pake basta ma explain mo lang ng maayos yung situation mo at qualified ka for sure hihire ka nila.. sa totoo lang swertihan lang talaga makakuha ng work in line kasi maski swak sayo yung qualifications pero kapag hindi para sayo hindi talaga mapipili e.. siguro may kanya kanyang time talaga tayo at for sure darating din yung time mo at makwekwento mo din dito.

@Pinoy_Imphotep what is your main reason in migrating to AU? most of the pinoys who migrated here usually had good-paying jobs before coming to AU but due to reasons like family, job stability, etc. had decided to live here.

I work in the construction industry and I can say that this salary sounds about right. It's not impossible to earn a 6 digit salary in construction but you have to build your network. Let me add as well that most of the 6 digit salaried people i know are always first in the chopping block pag slow down ang construction. Napaka volatile ng construction dito. When the demand is high you can transfer to other company and earn 6 digit tapos pag slow down balik naman sa 5 digit salary.

80-90k is ok, pag single ka. You can rent the whole house for yourself, get a car and may konting leisure. Pero mahirap na bilhin yong luxury items that you enjoy in dubai. mahirap rin mag ipon ng 10000 USD for your holiday plan in Europe. you can still party but not as luxurious as dubai. australia can offer a different kind of fun though. not as luxurious as dubai but it is relaxing. having worked in Singapore for a while and getting used to the life that most dubai expats enjoy, I can say hindi man ganun karami pera namin dito sa australia but we live a quality life (and not quantity). i suggest you go for an occular inspection first. Bakasyon ka dito ang gauge if this is the pace you want in life. Kami ni misis we left promising careers and good salary, but we never regret nag move kami dito.

@Captain_A Yeah, what you have mentioned are all true. In fact I am often the succeeding guy if not the first one gettin chopped off in the project not because of being incompetent but of having a a huge compensation that the client could no longer able to maintain up to the end of the project. As soon as the planning department could determine that my task has been completed they could pull the trigger anytime. I could also determine and know that I have fulfilled my task when I've reach a certain stage within my stay in the project. So chill lang by the time I get called to take the rest, already understood.

Buti na lang I am not the type of person na may peer pressure..i don't have any friends back then when I was in dubai like going out with people to hangout? No I don't have that. I go and live by myself alone, very peaceful, a home buddy type person renting my own studio apartment living alone owning 2 cars at the same time na minsan ko lang naman din nagagamit coz i used to travel for work, paying hefty rents and fines are so ridiculous. I also indulged myself in studying courses that is in light to my field to add more value to my profile, thus enabling me to get attraction in roles that pays 6 digits package and it happened twice already. Normally I only spend 10% from what I get monthly, maximum na siguro if I reach 20% expenses kasali na dyan ang remittances to my mom and my local expenses. So I was able to have a decent savings like in a few months 2 or 3 i am able to save 7 digits though unti unti rin nauubos coz there are times or months that I'm not in work yet still paying my liabilities as if I'm salaried. What makes me strive to reach the top are my motivations and test from people to surpass them. I am also not fascinated in going vacation traveling to different places I just don't know why. Maybe at this time its still not my interest coz I have other interest set as my priority. Though I can go anytime if may nag iinvite. I've traveled a lot for work and I'm loving it. That's the kind of job that I want to settle in with for a long time. I wouldn't mind if ipapadala pa nila ako sa mga war zone projects or assigned in a very extreme weather country. Just to get experience like only few could.. you know.

I only got interested recently in migrating to au upon watching vlogs in youtube seeing these people how peaceful and contented with their lives in au. So i wanted to try and experience. I love meeting and socializing with new people but then again, I'm just too introvert that my socializing patience is too short. My definition of fun in terms of weekends is just simply going out strolling at the park watching people with their families, or go malling, watch a movie, joyride or cruising dubai's downtown and the beach side.. ganun lang. So I guess I'm fit to live a simple lifestyle in au. I'm not a party animal either.

Hi. I would like to ask if what kind of resume will I submit if ever I am applying for some odds jobs not related to my experience and background? If handing over my resume to cafes and other cleaning jobs what could be the format? Will it be looking like a simple bio-data only? Thanks in advance for those who will answer.

@fioning1120 Hi, i suggest don't do that simple bio data resume format as it could be misunderstood by the company that you are applying for especially the HR that you are undermining their business or them look at you as a less valuable applicant. Always craft your resume/cv appealing and interesting to the employers. That's all i can say.
