IELTS for General Skilled Migration visa (Sub class 189)

@hailey, visa 189 and 190 are both for working visas. May I know your applied occupation and assessing body? Usually namn kasi tinatanggap either academic or general training. However, you need to reach a required band score for additional points or to pass assessing body and visa requirements. Kung kinapos, hmm.. re-take tlga. Goodluck.

@zowdyak thank you! nagtake ako academic para sa assessing body. pero kung pwd nmn ung sa general pra s visa 189 or 190... retake nlng ako general (bitin ksi grades ko s academic pra s visa, pang assessing body lng kinaya). thank youuu ulit

@hailey cpaa or caanz. meron ako band 7 s lahat now, ielts academic. tapos s visa para sana superior score, band 8 sna... kya ask ko if pwd retake ako pero general, bka mas madali

Last October nitry ko kumuha ng IELTS General(ang mahal mahal nito),
di ako nagreview so ang score ko:
Listening: 9, Reading: 8.5, Writing: 7, Speaking: 6.5
so madali sya actually medyo tumagalid lang ako sa interview kasi halos 5 years nako di nagpapractice mainterview.
Walang kwenta ang score kasi ang points required ay 7 sa lahat ng category para magkaroon ng 10points sa skillselect.
PTE Academic daw mas madali sa speaking kasi hindi face to face ang interview tama ba?

I wouldn’t say na mas madali yung PTE-A, pero mas mataas ang chance to get a Band 8 (Superior) on all language skills. Naexperience ko both IELTS and PTE-A, I’d say na mas tricky ang IELTS for me.

For other’s reference - main difference is - IELTS is evaluated and scored by a human rater, and PTE naman is by a computer program.

Let me give you one perspective for now. On Speaking…

Go for IELTS if tingin mong..
• Mas comfortable ka makipagusap sa tao
• Kasi if okay ung speaking skills mo, even you stutter sometimes, mas forgiving ang tao on this situation. And computer does not.
• Especially if you are a conversationalist - na madali sayo pagusapan yung buhay mo, general knowledge, or anything under the sun

On the otherhand, gofor PTE-A if tingin mong..
• You have a clear diction/ speak clearly (not necessarily with accent)
• You know what words to stress when reading or delivering a lecture
• Kung tingin mo, na kapag nagkkwento ka - minsan napagbabaliktad mo ung order of events or you’re trouble delivering your thoughts with coherence, then better ung PTE-A sayo. Unlike humans, I think mas forgiving naman ang computer kapag napagbali-baligtad mo ung sentences mo. Sentences ha, not particularly the words.

Husband ko 2x na pte failed kc di po sya comfortable sa speaking anhg ingay2 daw po plage natyempo na katabi nya indiano, while ielts lage naman po sya 6.5 overall band score 3x take nya sa ielts speaking lage nya nakukuha 7 so mas comfortable po sya magpa interview face to face other component baba na anu po kaya mkakatulong para makakuha ng 7 overall minsan nkaka loose hope pero kinakaya pa po.

Good day! I already took my ielts exam few months ago, both idp and BC. Unfortunately, these are the results of my exam:
British council:
Speaking: 6.5
Reading : 6.5
Listening:.7
Writing : 5.5
IDP:
Speaking 5.5
Reading 7
Listening 7
Writing 6.5
My question is can i combine these scores? Because i need at least 6 in each subtest, im currently applying for skilled indelendent visa subclass 189/190 for australia Thank you very much in advance.

hi po. If my IELTS result is more than 2 yrs but less than 3 yrs, is it still valid until receipt of ITA? Or do i need to retake the IELTS? me nabasa po ako n 3 yrs validity ng IELTS. thanks po sa sasagot.

Hi everyone! Can anyone give some pieces of advice? Weakness ko kasi talaga ang writing. I took IELTS Academic last year and these are my scores:

Reading : 8
Listening: 8
Speaking: 7
Writing : 5.5
Overall 7.5

It was really frustrating cause I needed 7 for each band to be used for my Migration Assessment sa CPAA. Thank you.

I have taken mine last year November 2018 and got these scores. I did only was to self review.

L 8
R 8
W 6.5
S 7.5

I had asked BC for a remark and no change. Now I planning to enrol for a IELTS writing prep course and will retake mine at March 2019. Putting my hope in God that he will favor me.
