UPDATE!

489 visa holder hindi nyo po kailangan kumuha ng Private Health Insurance dahil
Entitled po tayong mga naka 489visa sa medicare. Kagagaling lang po namin sa centerlink and 2-1/2 weeks mareceive na namin ang medicare card.

Difference of 489 versus 189&190 visa

1. 489 visa - color BLUE
189/190 visa - color GREEN

2. Benefits - thesame

3. 489 Medicare has an expiration. Kung Anong year mag expire ang visa. Ganoon din ang expiration ng Medicare. Once na approve na ang 887 visa balik lang po ulit sa centerlink for "RE-Application of Medicare for Permanent visa"

Check medicare levy exemption from the ATO website..You dont have to pay coz you are not entitled of medicare benefits but you have to get a letter from the proper authority in your state stating that you are not entitled to medicare. This is needed if you are filing your income tax with the help of an accountant or if DIY pwede naman wala.

Hi Guys!

Magtatanong lang po sana and hinge ng advice baka may same case ko lang din. 489 visa holder din ako.
Nung dumating kase kame dito sa Au (Qld) nkitira and bumisita muna ako sa friend ko sa Brisbane for a month kase wala ko kakilala and mahirap makahanp ng mauupahan for couple nung time na nghahanap kame. After 3 weeks or a month ata bago kame nakalipat sa regional area from Brisbane.

Ngayon makakaapekto po ba yun pag dating ng panahon na magaapply nako ng 887?

@YouOne wala naman problema dun. Pag nag apply ka ng 887, ensure mo na may 2 years ka na stay sa state na nag sponsor sa inyo at 1 year full time job. Wala naman pinagkaiba yan sa nag initial entry ka lang sa AU

@malt yup kapag nag apply ka na ng visa 887 pwede ka na agad mag apply for medicare. baka malito lang yung mga kababayan natin na maski hindi pa nakapag apply ng 887 at basta may 489 visa eligible na for medicare. just to be clear lang po.

@malt saang gov. bodies po pwede maginquire about sa medicare? Kase last time na ngpunta ko sa centre link sabi hindi tayo entitled ng any benefits kahit medical kase daw di pa PR. Cheneck nila yung visa ng 489 nung time na ngpunta ko. Salamat!

Kpag nk 887 visa n kmi, renewal lang daw po gagawin, magiging green na color ng medicare card nmin.

Pila po kyo doon para mkkuha ng priority number and form gor medicare.

Ang 489 medicare or "temporary" ay available sa lahat ng state.
489 medicare ay may year of expiration gaya ng visa.

Kaya right after ma approve ang 887 mag renew ng medicare. Machange sya from color Blue "temporary" to color Green "pr & citizen" medicare card

Hi, as far as I know hindi pa available ang Medicare for 489 visa holders (check website https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-regional-provisional-489/invited-pathway#About

We were on a 489 visa before in regional Queensland and we are not allowed to apply for Medicare and Centrelink. You can have a temporary Medicare card (blue one) right after you applied an 887 visa which we did way back 2016.

I am 489 visa holder in NT, i checked with them as well, they dont have such thing here in NT as temporary medicare for 489 visa holders. I wonder what is the cover of the temporary medicare given to @malt.

kkaapply lang po namin medicare this Jan 2019 here sa Victoria. and that time, hindi tinanggap ung visa 489 nmen. hindi daw eligible. so ang hiningi samin ung proof na nag apply na kami ng 887. baka nman po bagong clause ng visa 489 yan. ung mga currently approved.

@macdxb16 nagsubmit ako ng incorrect info RE my siblings. Dapat sa “others” sila kasi yung family member na non-accompanying is yung dependent sayo and mostly it is either your spouse or child.

@irenesky Hi sa tingin ko hindi sya 489 visa maybe another visa kasi wala pa sya sa website. I know malaking tulong yung Medicare for 489 visa holders but then lets hope meron na nga available. Better inquire Medicare office regarding this issue para malinaw.

Previously meron nag post dito na nag paalam sila sa sponsoring state na wala sila makuha job after so many job applications. They were allowed. Pero may state na naka clause sa pinirmahan na di sila nag aallow na lumipat.
