Guys, just confirmed my wife is 2 months pregnant here in Perth WA. She is expecting to deliver on January end of month. Will the baby be an Australian citizen? Kindly join in the discussion. For those who has experienced the same. Thanks

    I think there is a paid paternity leave for regular employees but unsure how long the duration is.

    @mgfg i think you need to be employed by one employer for atleast 12months, then 1 week paid leave from company and 1 week ata from centrelink..

    you need to lodge this claim s mygov or centrelink acct mo.

    may colleague said, if may annual leave ako, much better daw na yun n lng ang gamitin instead of paid leave from centrelink kasi mas malaki daw makukuha.. so 2 weeks paid leave ( 1 each for paid parental leave and annual leave). di ko pa natry..

    Im planning to take both annual leave and yung sa centrelink para ma-maximise. Nagreresearch din ako kung pwede ba gamitin ang carer’s leave for childbirth. Nakakalito minsan ang mga govt websites :)

    @gmad06 Wala po as the baby’s birth documents are purely all australian. The baby is naturalised Australian citizen given parents are both permanent residents.
