    Hello mates!

I just want to share.. I called IOM (International Organization for Migration) to inquire about the discounted fare. Here's an excerpt from the email they've sent.

For new migrants going to Australia with skilled migration visa or any permanent visa, IOM offers discounted fares and concessional baggage allowance via Qantas.

Please note that you can avail of IOM concessional fares and baggage allowance for the travel booked through IOM. Please also note that IOM MANILA assists with one-way travel to the immigration country. This means that we cannot assist with any return trip.

Airfare for Adults USD415 + PHP9,500 taxes, for Children USD295 + PHP9,500 taxes, and for Infants USD37 + PHP9,500. Taxes are inclusive of all Airline taxes and Philippine travel tax.

Payment of tickets, in peso cash only, is to be deposited at any China Bank branch account of IOM.

Baggage allowance: 40 kgs. per Adult and Child (in 2 bags of 20 kgs. each bag or 30kgs-10kgs variation as long as it does not exceed the maximum weight per luggage 32kgs). Infants are only allotted 10kgs baggage allowance.

    Not bad?

Then from SG, I will fly via Scoot direct to Sydney. Any problems na na experience or tips? Thanks. By the way, yung ticket ko all in all is less than 15k.

I lived in Singapore for 4 years previously - I don't see any problems to this EXCEPT if there will be delays in your flight to SG, you may miss your Scoot Flight...

If you have not bought your tickets going to Singapore yet, give it a lot of allowance - definitely more than 4 hours kung pwede... As far as I know late night ata ang flight ng Scoot to Syndey so pwede ka kumuha ng flight early in the morning and spend half day in the city. Enjoy Sambal Stingray or Chicken Rice im Maxwell Road. Pa-picture sa Merlion, go up the Singapore FLyer and drink free coffee inside the Marina Bay Sands Casino... :)

Ahahhah, sorry I got carried away... I may have missed SG lang cguro a bit! ;)

15K ticket is not too bad! Kelan lipad?

not true @olan - although between now and your desired flight date in June, there may be a cheaper rate as a result of a promo during these dates.

"For new migrants going to Australia with skilled migration visa or any permanent visa, IOM offers discounted fares and concessional baggage allowance via Qantas."...

Thank you very much for your inquiry.

Also, please note voluntary stop-over is not permitted for the IOM migrants' fare.

To request for flight booking/reservation, please specify:

    - Number of passengers (please provide full names and dates of birth if your family includes children under 12 years old)

    - the city of arrival in Australia (e.g. Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide) We do not have concessional fares for Perth as the city of arrival.

    - Preferred departure date (Qantas flight schedule is every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only).

    - Please also provide scanned copies of your passport bio page and visa page/visa grant notice.

Airfare varies (depending on seat availability on preferred date) between USD416 and USD452 + PHP9,500 taxes for adult, USD296 and USD320 + PHP9,500 taxes for children, and USD37 and USD41 + PHP9,500 for infants. Taxes are inclusive of all airline taxes and Philippine travel tax.

Fare quoted above includes IOM service fee. Please note that the costing may change due to airfare increases or currency exchange rate fluctuations. Therefore, IOM will advise you of the exact cost after the actual airline booking has been made.

Payment of tickets, in peso cash only, is to be deposited at any China Bank branch account of IOM.

For adult and child fare, the baggage allowance is 2 bags, maximum of 23kgs per piece. For infant fare, the baggage allowance is 1 bag, maximum of 10kgs.

For passengers with onward domestic flight, once you arrive in Sydney, you will have to claim your luggage then clear customs. Then transfer to the domestic terminal for your onward flight. QF-QF tickets are eligible to shuttle bus transfer operated by Qantas.

IOM cannot make travel arrangements until all Australian Immigration requirements have been met and visas and passports issued for each person traveling. Please ensure that you have all the necessary visas before your departure.

Please note that it is a condition of travel that once payment has been received and the tickets issued no refund will be made for cancellations. After the tickets have been issued any fees or changes in fares due to date changes, the incorrect name of passengers or destination changes must be borne by you.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries regarding IOM-assisted travel.

    Best regards,

So far, pinaka mura natingnan ko Cebu to Sg, Sg to Brisbane.

P.S. Ang Scoot pala from Sg is Gold Coast and Sydney lang. Shucks sayang, mura sana. :-S

What is the best and cheapest airline?

May bad experience ako sa Jetstar. Nasira luggage ko.

    Hello!

About PAL, ilan luggages po ba allowed as check-in baggage? Too informative. :-S ).

Ang alam ko, 23 kg for economy; 32 kg for mabuhay class. Ang iniisip ko ngayon yung maximum number of luggage. Thanks sa mga sasagot!

To be honest, I don't want to discredit IOM but it seems like mejo mas mahal ang sa kanila...

The only advantage daw is may added luggage - but then again, there are really some airlines that would extend first time immigrants with additional luggage allowance. I myself, yung sa aming ticket, we were only allowed 20kg per pax but I told SQ that I am a first time migrant and they gave me an additional 10kg per pax.

Just my 2 cents; what IOM can say they can arrange to give, you can also ask that yourself even if you bought your tickets straight from the airline company itself.
