@peach17..Yes, mura na to.. Or else try to look jetstar. Which is Manila-Darwin na kung mnsan merun cla $99 one way ticket. Un nga lg ung Darwin to Melbourne or Sydney ay aabot din ng $300, which mas mura xa.. Paminsan mnsan lg tlga yan ehh..

    thanks @nfronda :)

Also think of the stand by time... Is it 24 hrs or 5 hrs waiting at the airport for connecting flights? If u have kids.. Long terminal wait will be a disaster pero if single..why not? :)

Bad experience with jetstar! I sent a complaint letter but never got a refund! I book online tickets for 100 aud .. Auckland to sydney. It was a sale i have an email to prove that was the price but they charged my credit card 400aud!!! 3 hrs flight lng yan... Never got a refund from them ..

Go to jetstars facebook page.. Daming complaints. Pero u pay for the service u get.. Peanuts for monkeys.

oks @li_i_ren, thanks for sharing your bad experience with jetstar.

If I may... Credit cards are usually available once you have a job na.

In lieu of this, what we are using now is a debit card from NAB. Pwede sya gamitin online. Unfortunately you cannot get your card (even if you open an account with them from offshore) until you arrive in Australia...

For the first few wks I guess if kailangan talaga you can just use your PH credit card. Otherwise just stick to cash...

Of course ! :) as long as may visa or mastercard logo...

you may need to inform your provider though that you will be using it in australia; minsan kasi they will see it as a suspicious transaction (as it is not your home country) and tatawag sila sa iyo, if cannot be reached, they MIGHT block your card.

@peach17 billing statement.. D pwdi ipadala overseas. The banks wont shoulder that cost instead ask if may online statements.

Visa or mastercard can be used anywhere as long as you have enough money or credit limit. A 20,000 pesos credit limit is only 500aud. It would be good if your pinas credit card has about 100,000pesos credit limit if you are travelling overseas.

Also remember where you swiped our card.. My younger sis went to malaysia swiped her card in a hotel there but when she checked her statement someone made a copy of her card and bought tickets from russia worth around 1000usd!!

She reported the incident and the bank gave her money back after a month. Just be vigilant.

In au, usual starting credit limit is only 2k to 7k aud.

PAL fares is 800-1000k aud plus. But the nice thing with pal..it has the shortest lay over and the shortest flight.. Only 12 hrs. 800-1000k plus IS the standard fare for sydney and melbourne areas. So that is cheap may pera ka or wala. Only perth and darwin may below 500 kasi only 5-6 hrs flight yan to manila.

Kami PAL flyers kasi we have a kid.. We need the shortest possible flight with the most convenience.

Also like broome Mas malapit sila sa pinas hence lower prices...i think may nakita akong 500aud 1 way to brisbane (queensland) but sale price yun. Once in a blue moon. Usual price pa din 600- 1000k. With pal, fiesta saver yung cheapest seat nila but always sold out agad.

Depende saan yung punta mu yung plane fares.

Depende din how long yung terminal time. How many stop overs.

Als0 masasanay ka rin sa prices dito:) i live in sydney.. 500 per week rent namin here. If galing pa sa pinas..talagang feeling mahal na yan pero you will get use to it din once u get here. Pasensya if i offended you..difference in perspective lng yan and not about how much money one have:)

But trust me..those are cheap fares you mentioned already:)

@dakz : actually, additional ang 30kgs baggage sa CebuPac kasi parang 10kgs lang ang free nila para sa promo fare. you can choose naman kung ilang kilo ang e add mo. sa 10T na promofare for 3pax, included na ang 30kgs each baggage. good deal na siya.

nag aantay ako seat sale. kung wala no choice but to book PAL or Malaysian Airlines talaga.

But trust me..those are cheap fares you mentioned already:)

    it's okay li_i_ren :) i'll take your advice sis :)

In au, usual starting credit limit is only 2k to 7k aud.

thanks sis. we'll be very cautious in using our cards overseas :) thanks for sharing your sis' experience.

Meron din bang online payment like dito satin thru bpiexpressonline?
sorry kung super ignorant ng tanong ah? first time namin kasi sis..

    Need advise please.
Is it ok not to purchase baggage allowance for check-in if we'll only stay in Aus for 1 week? We are family of four (2 kids).

We only have 2.5 hrs lay over in KL back to Manila that's why i'm thinking of bringing only hand carry bags.

Ang hirap naman ng tanong mo @RuChe - this depends naman eh kung light packer ka or hindi... Personnal preference will always prevail here.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you for the replies. :) We'll be there by late October. According sa forecast, temp is around 29-30 C. Medyo mainit na sha so pede na siguro light jacket na lang. I've been reading on how to pack light. And also considering na magpa-laundry na lang dun. Sana hindi mahal. :)
Natatakot din kase ako maiwan dun sa second flight ko kung meron pa akong baggage na kelangan i-check-out then icheck-in uli.

mostly pag same airline ang connecting flight mo, you dont need to get you checked-in baggage.. sa final destination mo na kukunin yun..
