Hi po! I got married last week and will be loding my EOI within the week. I wanted to get NBI clearance while I am still here in Philippines. Should I ask for a clearance indicating my maiden name as my other documents to be submitted still shows my maiden name?

@anastasia.salvador congratulations ! Welcome to married life. Same lang mine i still use maiden name pero married status.

@anastasia.salvador agree with @lucia ganayan ginawa namin ni misis. lahat ng docs nya are still in maiden name para consistent, kasi it will take time to process all the documents and change it with a new name. sa nbi clearance naman, lalabas dun yung maiden name mo at the same time may separate box para sa surname ng husband.

You can apply for 190subclass Visa which isn’t subject to points priority. This means as long as you meet the minimum eligibility requirements, you can apply but definitely help if you have high points.

The higher the score the better po, not sure kung sa occupation nyo po kung tinatanggap ang PTE, not saying na mas madali PTE, it's just that mas generous sa pagbibigay ng points ang PTE kesa IELTS.

@Supersaiyan I tried PTE before but for me mas mhirap ang PTE... Technical factors din dpat iconsider like the pc used and the headset. Sa province kasi ako and Cebu or Manila lg test centers

@sal19515 to confirm, you are still able to acquire 75 points for 189 and 80 for visa even without the language skills points?
for IELTS kasi any one of the communicative skills na 6.5 equates to zero points. 7 is 10 points.

For now we need to know ano ang exact nominated occupation mo (anzsco code) to gauge kung ok ang 75 and 80 points. Depende kasi sa code e, 75 is good enough for an ITA for one occupation, and yet di abot for some highly in demand occupation ( for example sa mga accountant)

I agree with @Supersaiyan - if ma acquire mo even the 7 proficient score for IELTS, anlaking pang boost ng points mo ito making your 189 to 85 points?

Mas highly technical ang IELTS when it comes to speaking and writing and I agree na mahirap sya ma achieve but if you are not open to taking PTE - then we highly suggest na try mo ulit ang ielts to achieve better scores and higher points sa eoi. If yun nalang ang hadlang for you to get a guaranteed ITA, I think it is enough motivation for you to persevere to review and try again. Goodluck! :)

Hi @agentKams , kahit naka 485 pa kami, pwede na kami mag apply for Medicare? Thanks sis!

hi sis, kami din 485 visa pa din namn kami nung nagapply ng medicare. ang ginawa ko, lodge 189 visa, apply medicare then cancel OVHC. pero kami ngcontinue kami ng private health insurance for levy purposes.

Follow-up lang sana regarding this. Just enrolled with Medicare and the lady told me that my current private health insurance (OVHC) with BUPA has to be changed/adjusted kasi with Medicare na daw kami. True enough, a BUPA agent then called me a few days after telling me the same thing. My question is ano ba magandang private health insurance (on top sa Medicare, para iwas MLS or Lifetime loading)?

I'm considering to stay with BUPA kasi tatapatan daw nila yung iba (told them I also have extras cover with HBF kasi). Any inputs would be appreciated. Salamat!

FYI, 75 points these days won’t be good enough for 189 visa. At least 85 would be. Most likely a 190 would be more possible than a 189 for engineers.

That’s the trend nowadays so best to focus for 190/489 visas.

All depends with the AQF equivalence of your degree. If yours is equivalent to an AQF bachelors degree then 2 years will only be deducted, more years if it’s recognised to be lower than a degree.

Nakita ko po ung page for Schools and Sections, ano po ba ibig sabihin pag ung school nag fall sa section 1 or 2 or 3? Thanks po! :)

Hi mga kabayan! I’ve been a silent reader for years and I am amazed how helpful yung mga tao dito and how patient they answer each query. Now, ako naman po ang in the middle of a situation na need ng advice nyo po.

I’m currently on 485 Graduate Visa and expiring na sya this coming January 2020. I lodged my EOI 70 points for 189 (ANZCO 254415 Registered Nurse) last February 12. But as we all know, grabe ang backlog ngayon when it comes to invitation rounds. Now my questions are:

    1. Shall I wait for my 189 invitation although I only got 6 invitation rounds left. I’ll get additional 10 points this November for being single lol I’m not sure if that will make a big difference. Well, hopefully.

    2. Option 2 is Apply 489 Regional Visa sa Far South coast kasi dun lang ako pasok. But my question is,c can i still be invited in 189 even if naka 489 visa na po ako? And can I create another separate EOI (using other email address/account) to make an EOI for the 489 visa? Will this be a conflict sa aking previous 189 EOI?

Maraming maraming salamat po sa sasagot! This will help a lot easing my anxiety 😅

yes limited work rights ka pa din, pag naapprove na visa 189/190 mo dun lang maging full work rights. kasi iyong substantive visa mo which is student visa, iyon pa din ang susundin na conditions and also continue pa din ang school. not unless mag engage ka ng migration agent, they will help you sa process on how to cancel your student visa and activate your bridging visa with work rights.
