Hello!share ko lang yung ibang learnings namin after BM (Melbourne) :)

    1) Learners permit trumps overseas drivers license (ayon kay VicRoads) - meaning kahit valid overseas license mo, kung kumuha ka na ng learners permit considered as "learner" ka, so ideally may kasama kang full license when driving. :| same sa practical exam, dapat may full license na kasama

    2) Try nyo kumuha ng low income health card (concession card) from centrelink - para pwede kayong mag myki concession para half the normal fare. may mga concession rates din sa mga museums, courses, etc - so why not hehe.

    3) If you have kids - try to apply for family tax benefit (FTB) agad para sa allowance :) di naman sya super laki pero it helps

    4) apply for child care subsidy if you plan to put your kids into day care - 1 month kasi usually processing ni centrelink ng mga requests (including FTB)

    Good Day to All.

Our visa was finally approved the other day (Glory to God!). Hoping for anyone to share some information regarding sa mga queries below, I will be base in Sydney. I know my situation is different since I will be on TSS 482 Visa, but any input will be appreciated.

    1. Ano ano po ba need to prepare/arrange before travelling to Sydney? I in Jeddah now but will fly from Pinas.

    2. Likewise, ano ba mga need agad asikasuhin as soon as I land in Sydney. Do I need to request certain days before start of work to workout some necessities like Bank, License, Medicare, etc. or all these can be done even as I start work already

    3. Recommendations for a good suburb to stay in Sydney. Considerations are safe neighborhood, good primary school, affordable accommodation and hopefully good proximity to work area (Haberfield 2045).

    4. Ano po ba mga essential things to bring for a start considering that I think I can only bring about 40kg max. for items that are hard to find, expensive and essential during the first few days/weeks of stay.

    5. Your two cents because we were planning na mauna muna ako for few months (target by 1st week of October) then sunod nalang ang wife and two kids (10 and 7). What could be the advantage and disadvantage of this lalo sa schooling ng mga bata.

Thank you po sa mga sasagot. God Bless us all.

Try to answer your query sir. baka makatulong.

    1. If coming from PH kayo need niyo umattend ng PDOS ata but since mukang nag OFW na kayo sa Jeddah I assume meron na kayo nung sticker?

    2. I'm not sure if sa visa mo is qualified kayo for Medicare and Centrelink pero if yes, yan yung mga una mong asikasuhin at yung TFN mo. Kung may Drivers License ka sa Jeddah I think pde ka mag drive dito pero if not mag DKT ka na aga para magka L license. Kung nde pa kayo qualified for medicare check for private health insurance.

    3. Madami namang suburbs na okay, almost lahat naman ata tahimik and may public school. It will depends nalang siguro sa budget mo. Tingin ko you look for suburbs sa West sydney since banda dun yung work mo para isang train lang. What I meant is yung 400/week na rent mo sa medyo malayo compared sa malapit sa city is mas maganda na makukuha mong bahay compared sa medyo luma or maliit na malapit sa city.

    5. Based on my experience mas okay yung ikaw muna mauna. Question is may work ka na ba pag dating? kasi if wala eh mag hahanap ka pa, then hanap din bahay etc. What I did nauna ako ng 1 month para makahanap ng bahay at work tska ko sila kinuha.

Hi. Pero this is regarding the tax return.

At the moment, naka Temporary Graduate 485 visa ako.
Can someone please enlighten me? Thank you.

@goku_son Pwede mo iamend yung tax return mo thru mygov. Do you have the letter of ML exemption? That will be the supporting document.

Tawag ka sa ATO. Helpful naman (yung iba ) sila and ask them for more info. Saka bago naman ilodge yung tax return, ipapakita muna ng accountant if correct or not. Kasi baka may iba pa palang deductions or disagreement sa calculation nila.

    @Noodles12.

On the case of PDOS/OEC, need ko pa po kumuha because its a different country. Hindi po kami qualified for Medicare so kukuha talaga ng Private Insurance, still checking kung ano ang suitable and cost effective because there is too many options to choose from.

And rental price is a big consideration pero mas ok siguro ung accessible din sa market and groceries para hindi mahirap sila misis. Meron pong car na provided for me and I dont mind driving a bit.

Salamat po sa suggestion, its good to know that somehow you were able to settle and have them with you in a month. Un kasi worry ko, If I am to go by October target namin makasunod sila by December.

    Thanks again.

Hi all! Sharing to you our experience ng husband ko. Kahit anong medicines ideclare nyo po and prepare the prescription from your doctor, pwede nila hanapin yon but for our case hindi naman hinanap. May mga dineclare din ako, ang ginawa lang is scan lahat ng dala namin from box to luggages, wala naman silang pina open na bag.

Makakatulong pa rin maghanap ng work online if you're near your BM. You can tell the recruiter when will you be arriving. Sa case ko din, I'm a dependent of my husband. I applied through seek and last Monday may interview ako receptionist/admin job. I got the offer yesterday and they asked me to start Monday kasi immediate hiring sila hehe For this week alone, I got 2 interviews. Tomorrow will be my 2nd interview for the 2nd company I applied for. My husband will have his interview later and on Monday which he applied when he was still in Singapore.

It helps to specify in your cover letter what you really want to do and the skills that you have. Tailor your resume if possible max 2 pages. It's not necessary to put in the character reference yet but if you really want to, it's also ok.

Maaaaalaaaammiigg ang Sydney. Mahangin din. Nakakapanibago..
Praise the Lord for a smooth transition!
    Thank you!

Paano po ang naging/magiging set up nyo when it comes to accommodation?

We're still waiting for invite pa naman pero naiisip ko na 'to as early as now kasi mukhang magiging matinding challenge sa amin if ever ni hubby na kami muna ang mauuna then saka bibitbitin ang 2 kids namin. First time kasi namin if ever na mahihiwalay sa kanila ng matagal.

Meron akong kilala na nag apply sila as family of 3 when they got here sa au..this june lng..took them almost 2 weeks to get approved. meron nmang naaaprove kahit bagong lipat lng..nka student visa pa nga lg sila. im sure ull be fine :) if dnio kasama ang kids, im sure mkakahanap kayo ng ka share sa haus or room ng mga pinoy na andito. mramig nman nagpaparent. u can do that while u transition to look for a place for ur own :) if dala nio nman ang kids , it cud be challenging to get approved agad ..depende kc sa suburb demand, meron dn nman na away from d city like 45mins train ride wherein wla kay masyado competition na applicants. dpende din sa timing tsaka kind of haus of ur choice. pro wla nman limit sa pag apply :) if PR kau im sure ul be fine. jst dont expect it to be smooth :) Goodluck!

    - base dun sa nag IE kami, no need to report, kita na nila status nyo upon arrival - di nga hiningi yun grant letter.
    Derecho na sa medicare/centrelink/TFN.
Sa medicare/centrelink at bank account opening need ipakita ang passport at grant letter.
