Question po. Medyo malungkot lang kasi ako ngayon or depressed.

Hey everyone.

Nakabili na din ako ng bahay ko after two years and may 2 years old na ako Australian citizen (and may anak din ako na US citizen haha proud na proud eh noh hahaha).

I guess ppahinga muna ako and chillax and work and family ang iisipin ko muna and magta-travel na kami gamit ang Australian passport namin soon hehehe.

@trixiajhem Ano yung work experience ninyo & kung yan ang magiging nominated occupation mo, nasa MLTSSL or STSOL ba?

Just want to know your comments if feasible ito as an alternative while waiting/ looking for a professional job. I want to know your thoughts regarding this. Thank you.

Hindi ko pa na-try ito but i heard stories. Usually mga farm hand jobs ito wherein you will help the farmers harvest their produce in exchange for money, accomodation and food.

May good and bad stories ito so you have to be careful kasi nasa isolated place ka wherein di ka masyadong makaka navigate basta basta. Probably join some backpackers group at baka mas maraming input from them.

@jaygarreth honestly, for the past 4 years ko dito sa Melbourne, i haven't seen any work for accommodation. The government is planning but haven't finalised it yet.

@jaygarreth usually odd jobs like cleaning, kitchenhand, pick packing. It would be beneficial though to know people so they can refer you. Most of my odd jobs were just referral. But i did got lucky with gum tree, pra makahanap ng part time ko.

btw, ano bang target mo n work?

@jaygarreth usually odd jobs like cleaning, kitchenhand, pick packing. It would be beneficial though to know people so they can refer you. Most of my odd jobs were just referral. But i did got lucky with gum tree, pra makahanap ng part time ko.

btw, ano bang target mo n work?

for the odd jobs i dont know yet. lol. i'm lab scientist by the way. im preparing myself for the possibilities of no work for 3- 6 months so just researching on the steps needed to survive within those months. i read about working in Hostels?

try mo humanap ng work na inline sa ginagawa mo now. para mabilis ka makabalik sa current level mo. try mo same industry sa industry mo now. i am sure, within 2 months, meron na yan. baka lang, 2 to 4 level lower in term of the job title ang makuha mo. pero ok lang yun, basta papunta ka dun sa same work mo as now. pinas ka ba? kasi if makuha mo yung same position dito as yung position mo sa pinas, ok na yun. yun dapat goal mo, dun ka dapat papunta

If lets say, wala talaga, example lang IT ha. if IT ka at di ka talaga maka chamba. if mag decide ka mag retail, try mo computer shop. or kahit cell phone, anything na medyo technical. para at least yung resume mo, kumakarga pa din. yung local experience mo, in line pa din sa skills mo. skills sa resume mo.

@jaygarreth healthcare like nursing? Marami jobs like aged care and child care dito. Kelangan mo nga lng kumuha ng certificate, i think, kung ala or kulang ka s experience.

Lakasan lang ng loob yan mga kabayan.
Must have a plan and right mindset. No need for Plan B. Plan B will just hold you back on your goal.
I moved here 12years ago with only $200 on pocket. Worked in labour jobs the following weekend to have money while applying for engineering job. After 2 months, I got an engineering job and the rest is history.
I met lots of pinoy (like dentist, nurse,IT manager, Bznes manager, Accntant at madami pang iba) na nagwowork sa warehouse. Happy naman sila at kontento sa work so hnd na sila naghanap sa linya nila. Yun ibang pinoy may crab mentality sasabihin sa iyo hindi mo mapapraktis un profession mo dito or hindi ka makakakuha ng work sa linya mo. They pull you down. They put your morale down but it’s up to you if you’ll give up on your goal / dream.
    Goodluck everyone.
