Hi @Pinoy_Imphotep thanks for your reply. I am a chemical engineer. What would I include in my CV then if I am applying for cafe or cleaning staff? Do I need to exclude my technical skills since it would not apply to the position?

@fioning1120 Just keep every vital info that you would like to share and know by the your prospect employer. By that, they'd would know what kind of applicant you are and for sure they'd be curious on why you are applying for such job way that is way too far from your field or experience. That's up to you on how you're going to deliver and let them know of your situation and concern & interest in joining their company during your face-to-face interview with them. Whats important is you have to catch their attention and once you caught their attention by being called for an interview, you've just done 50% of your objective in job hunting. Achieving the remaining 50% in order to make it 100% and being offered for a job will depends on how you presented yourself during the interview and ofcourse with their assessment on how they could benefit from you you being their employee.

@Megger Hi. Eto naghahanap parin while andito pa sa Pinas. Sa June pa kami pupunta ng husband ko sa Melbourne. May mga nakakausap kaming recruiters/headhunters at ischedule namin na imeet sila pag karating dun. Hopefully makahanap rin agad.

@lilith hindi namn discrimination but they prefer those who have "local" experience in the area, lalo na kung specialize area ang occupation. Iyan ang pagkakaexplain sa husband ko nung recruitment specialist when he was on an interview,kasi he has all the Australian local experience na kailangan dun sa position but then hanggang phone interview lang siya. Lagi din niya sinasabi nung can fly ASAP to the location. pero waley. hehe

Hello po. Anybody here na nagtry magapply online while processing his/her 189 visa? Gusto ko malaman kung possible ba na mahire ka bago ka makarating dun. Kasi nakakatakot pumunta na walang kasiguraduhan. Baka maubos pera mo din. Im an MLT/MLS so kung may mga kaparehas ako na sa field na yan na makakasagot. That would help. Thanks in advance!

@ramzy101 in my opinion hindi ka nila ipriprioritize if wla ka pang visa and mostly sa mga online application may screening question agad sila na are you Australian citizen or permanent residency and any working rights to work in Australia. So if no sagot mo wla ka na agad sa possible short listed applicants. Take note: khit PR na hirap pa rin makahanap ng work khit qualified sa position na inaapplayan based on my experience dagdag mo pa na andito na ko mismo hirap pa rin.

@ramzy101 nag try na dn ako ng mga odd jobs, di ko alam bkit wla pa rn ako tawag khit sa ibang field. Cguro mas prefer nla yung may experience na. Kya if plan mo mag migrate d2 dpat prepared ka at least 6 months na wla kang work.

@ramzy101 tama si @alfonso31 hindi ganun kadali makahanap agad ng same field mo dito maski PR ka na pero meron pa din naman sinuswerte at nakakakuha agad ng work but you have to be prepared financially at emotionally kasi challenging talaga paghahanap ng work. malaking bagay yung network dito kasi mas mabilis ka ma hire kung may backer or kakilala ka.

@alfonso31 sa mga inaapplyan mo bang odd jobs inaalter mo yung cv mo para swak sa hinahanap nila?

@ramzy101 do a research of cost of living. Like rent, food, electricity, transpo, insurance, entertainment etc. Data are available online for each state / location you intend to stay. Depends on your lifestyle, family size if applicable. Each one has different case.

@alfonso31 kung inaapplyan mo nakalagay na need ng experience mukang hindi ka talaga tatawagan kaya much better kung yung aapplyan mo is okay lang maski no experience. at mas Malaki chance mo kung may mga kakilala ka kasi referral dito imporatante at sa experience ko sure na pasok ka. try mo any odd jobs. ako nag start ako sa laborer kasi maski gusto ko yung sa resto na kitchenhand or sa hotels na mga tagal linis hindi ako matanggap dahil wala nga kong exp sa field na yun. ang laborer kasi mostly no need ng exp so tinanggap ko yun para lang may income until nakahanap ako ng work na related na sa field ko.

hello guys, question lang baka may idea kayo.. kakatangap ko kasi ng job offer and currently on going ung background check, ang plan ko kasi sana habang background check, uuwi sana ako sa pinas tapos babalik nlng mga 2 days bago start date ko. ang worry ko, baka kasi magkaaberya pag wala ako dito sa australia, makita nakaoffshore status ako. thanks you
