Basta naman you tick the important details na nirerequire ng company, magkakaron kayo ng opportunity for first round of interview.

Good luck sa lahat.

i agree with @kramkramkram , nung naghahanap kami ng intern sa dati kong work, mas ok for me na sabihin na hindi nila alam pero willing to learn kasi natuturuan naman yung tao. Mas mahirap turuan yung taong ayaw magpaturo at umintindi.
Production experience na yung pagbabasehan mo after. So kung sinabi mong ala kang alam, yung willingness to learn is dapat may kasabay na fast learner ka. May self-study kumbaga. Look after yourself, kung magkamali man, own up to it. Be responsible and make sure to help with the fix. And also make sure don't do it the second time.
@carlosau hmmm... hindi kami gumagamit ng java eh.=/ PL/SQL hanap namin, yung may Oracle RMS experience.
@carlosau and @imau Pero as for your headhunter, okies lang yan. reliable naman yang mga yan. ala ka rin babayaran sa kanila if ever, hindi tulad sa Pinas. So don't worry much about it. Yung first job ko, add cya sa gumtree. then may tumawag sakin for interview after like 3-4 weeks. After nung interview ko, sabi nung company 'we'll inform your agent if you passed for the second interview'. Update nyo lng yung job search sites like Seek, LinkedIn, Indeed etc pra lam nung headhunters na naghahanap kayo ng work.

Kamusta job hunting ng mga developer diyan? BM kami sa January, medyo na-anxious at gusto ko na mag back out dahil sa mga kwento ng mga nakapag IE na diyan. Hirap daw hanap work. Haaay. Nakakakaba dahil ngayon lang kami mate-tengga sa work

Hi @gdcan, nasa IT space na ako nagwowork.
It took us 1 year to look for an iOS developer and Product Manager after interviewing a mix number of locals and expats.
All the best!

@superluckyclover sana nga wala discrimination talaga. and good to know na last nila chincheck is the visa status. nagttry na kami apply from here pa lang, sabi kasi minsan matagal HR diyan.

@gdcan don't bring in the notion that you have a lot of experience thus you deserve to be in a higher/specific position. Sa dami ng competition dito, syempre gusto ng local business na alam mo na kung pano sila magwork. as i have said in my previous post, iba ang training process nila, so technically, marami rin difference pagdating sa work culture. it is just being respectful na rin sa kanila dahil business nila yung papasukan natin, hindi naman pwedeng sila ang magaadjust satin.
And with all honesty, mas ok for me ang work culture nila dito. Maraming working rights, especially when it comes to family stuff/issues, lenient sila. If you do get stressed, kung hindi man yung company ang maglookout sayo, may mga government agencies na pede kang puntahan. Below is an article for reference:
https://www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au/topic/mental-health
But yes, kung ano naman yung nasa Asia, yun din naman yung nandito sa Australia, you just have to break that shell that they have because once you are inside, once your already in a local company, employers will be the one running after you to work for them if they see that your experience and knowledge is what they are looking for.
Goodluck s job hunt.;)

May isa ring direct, alam nilang nasa Pinas pa lang ako pero they still interviewed me. They'll be transparent with that.
First week namin, inasikaso na namin bank, medicare, cetrelink and TFN namin.

Hi,
Good day po sa lahat ng members.
Bago lang po ako sa group nato.
I just want to know if what will be the first step (really dunno where and how to start) for migrating to Australia. In my case, I am 36 y.o. (as of this writing) currently working in Qatar as Quantity Surveyor with total years of experience as QS in a construction company (but i am a licensed Civil Engr in the Philippines- my degree is Civil Engineering). As far as i know, both Quantity Surveyor and Civil Engineer were in the SOL. In addition my wife is working here as well as a Nurse (31 yrs old).
My question is, do I qualify with the requirements to migrate to Australia? What will be the first thing to do?
Any response will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

@mabaitpoako usually ang first call/interview is HR or yung recruiter. Ang tanong is usually based sa kung ano yung nakalagay na hinahanap nila sa advertisements nila. Bihira yung HR / recruiter na technical pero just give the info they need. You can politely say if they need further details sa sagot mo. If they say yes, then sagot pa.;) dont forget to research on their company, big plus yun sa kanila pag alam mo company nila. And lastly, pag nagtanong ng do you have any questions, magtanong ka. Like would it be an issue kung next month ka p makakarating sa australia etc.

Naalala ko, less than a month after mag start ako, nag bakasyon kaagad yun isang ka opisina ko for a month.

Mag pick up ulit around end ng January.

@imau, Jun-Aug is end/start ng Financial Year so medyo maayos din ang job market.

@imau dagdag lang ako regarding schools, tumatanggap ng students dito sa NSW kahit middle of the school year.
Dumating mag-ina ko ng Aug. Nung nag-apply kami sa school, kami pa tinanong kung kelan namin prefer magstart yung bata

In my experience hindi naman ako naging Junior. Senior/Lead Developer position ako sa PH before mag migrate and I was expecting na mid level position ang makukuha ko. When I got the job I thought na junior/mid level lang but they gave me a Senior role.
I agree din kay frisch24, walang training training dito after a week sabak agad kaya need mo intindihin talaga ung business and maka adapt how they work.

AWS: Modern Application Development

User groups gaya ng
Sydney Linux User Groups https://slug.org.au/
Pag sa Devops kayo, google "devops meetup sydney". Maraming events na sponsored ng companies. Mostly free (at may snacks at drinks). Maybe makakatulong din to pass time and magka idea sa industry dito.

Besides, most stores closes by 7.
Companies would really appreciate it. Pero don't do it always nga lang. Ala kasing point.
And one more thing, wag madismaya sa office spaces. Local businesses kasi usually is small businesses. Bihira yung malaki at international ones. Kaya don't compare yung offices dito at sa Pinas.;) Personally, first job ko is a small local company na sakop yung 2 floors ng building. Pero may 3rd floor yung building at yung nsa taas ay Pole Dancing class ang ginagawa so may oras talaga in a day na maingay dahil sa music, maraming kalabog kasi nga Pole Dancing cya at puro alikabok na nahuhulog galing sa ceiling dahil nga sa kalabog.xP hahaha. But it was no issue for me, for us, working in that company kasi business as usual.

Tama si @kramkramkram kasi marami nga events dito sa Melbourne when it comes to IT. And usually may mga Job Fair every now and then all around Melbourne, sorry can't comment much sa ibang state.
Yung app din na Meetup would really help to get a good network dun sa jobs na related sayo, hindi lang sa IT.
