Regarding pdos ----
Nagemail ko sknla at eto ang sagot
Dear Mr. De Vera:
We wish to inform you that the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) only
registers and conducts pre-departure orientation seminar (PDOS) to
Filipino emigrants with permanent resident visa. Australian Visa Subclass
489 is a provisional visa and is not classified as a permanent resident
visa. You may, however, register with the CFO on your next departure to
Australia if you have adjusted your status to permanent residency in
Australia.
You may wish to call the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration
(POEA) at (632) 722-1155 or (632) 722-1144 to check if your Australian
visa is considered under the working visa class.
Best regards.

Pero s school nmn same as permanent tayo minimal fee.

Totoo naman na for most occupations mas kaunti yung job opportunities dito sa SA compared to Sydney or Melbourne. Kaya nga eligible ang SA to sponsor 489 and 491 visas kasi low growth metropolitan area ito. Sa tingin ko importante rin kasi to have realistic expectations pag pumunta dito. Gaya ng nasa article, you cannot expect a visa to automatically lead to a job.
In my case, nagstrategize ako kung paano ko iaapproach yung job hunting kasi yung occupation ko usually sa HQ based. Kaso bihira na may big national or multinational company na may HQ dito, so inalam ko kung anong industries ang malaki dito and pagdating ko inisa-isa ko yung websites nung mga local SA companies. May careers pages sila and minsan dun lang sila nag-aadvertise ng openings. I also monitored job openings in seek.com for 2 months bago ako nag-BM, para realistic ang expectations ko about the job market.
May mga job opportunities naman dito. Kailangan lang masipag mag-apply and you really have to sell yourself sa cover letter pa lang. Syempre importante rin na maayos ang English communication skills kasi English speaking country ito, so it helps to expose yourself to the locals para masanay ka sa accent and matantya mo rin how well they understand you.
Pero none of them ever told me na dahil kailangan ng local experience. Aside from obvious naman sa CV ko na wala akong local experience, sa interview sinasabi ko agad sa Tell Me About Yourself portion ng interview na kakarating ko lang dito. Wala naman negative reactions. In the end nakakuha naman ako ng full time job na aligned sa skills ko and yung iba, ganun din naman. Basta mahaba dapat pasensya and masipag sa job hunting, realistic expectations, and always think positive.

You really have to research, lots of patience at open to any type of work just in case mahirapan talaga makahanap in line sa occupation(pero syempre mas okay kung related sa occupation). Importante ditto yung connections, mas madali makapasok sa isang company kung may connection or may nag recommend sayo but syempre your skills din. Good luck sa newly migrants. kayang kaya nyo yan at lahat naman magiging worth it in the end.

Hi All,
pede po ba magdouble joB sa 489 ? isang part time tas isang full time? or maraming part time basta kaya?
or i'm thinking to get any kinds of work basta sumahod, while waiting for chance na makakuha ng offer na align sa past experience ko?

Sobrang hirap na may kasamang toddlers i have 3 , 5 years old ,3 and 1. And i have 6xl luggages
With bag packs kme ni hubby,
And thats it!
