Hello, any one here who lodge their SVs this January? Kumusta status ng visa niyo po? I've heard a lot of refusal nong Nov and December as per my agent. Hopefully, mababait ngayon ang mga COs. Goodluck to us. Keep praying :)

For students, sana we can create our own discussion for 2020 intake so we can share sentiments. I'm looking for it pero di ko mahanal san ako maka create ng discussion for.

    Hello everyone! :)

Ask lang po, changed of plan kasi kami. Nursing graduate ako sa pinas but since hindi ako license at walang work experience sa clinical setting, i am not eligible to apply for any program like nursing conversion, graduate entry, bridging course, etc... So we have decided na magstudy nlang ako ng 3 years nursing and we are planning to get married pag on April sa pinas. Question ko lang, ung mga documents ko under maiden name like passport. Wala bang issue yun pag nag apply ako ng visa kung ung CoE maiden name ko nakalagay tska sa passport? And pag nag apply ako ng SV and include him as my dependent, sabay ba kami mabibigyan ng visa? Maaapprove kaya? Pa-help naman po :(

    Hello mga kabayan!
My student visa application was lodged yesterday by my agent (January 14, 2020). Orientation at Macquarie University starts on February 17, 2020. Aabot pa kaya ako sa orientation? Visa processing times shared in my immi account says 32-53 days. Any experience/stories before na pwede nila iprioritize yung malapit na orientation and commencement ng course?

Any fellow prospective MU students this semester 1, 2020?

Have you done your medical already? If not, you'll have to factor that in. In my case I received the request for medical 2 days after lodging visa application, then booked the earliest appointment for medical (which was a week after I received the request for medical). The med result came out probably around a week, then the visa grant a little over a week after. So for me it took about 3-4 weeks from visa lodgement.

Take note though that every student's case is different, some get their visas right away, others' took weeks (especially if there's an issue with the medical). A classmate of mine only got his visa 2 weeks AFTER the start of classes because of issue with his medical; he had to email the program director about his late arrival to Australia due to visa grant delay. He only got his student visa the day before he was flying out (he already booked a ticket at that time). In his case, there were strict about clearing medicals, so there was no special treatment at all even though classes had already started.

@athelene Yes. My medical exam was already done a week before the SV application was lodged. I didn't receive any sms/call re: results if need to repeat or additional test from Nationwide..so I guess the results were good? I'll followup with them if they forwarded the results to the embassy.

I actually don't know if it's possible for you to see the results (I didn't see mine) before they get sent out to DHA, but DHA will tell you if they'll need more info. That's good that your medicals are done; then you'll just have to wait for the visa grant. I hope yours come out soon! =) In the meantime, think positive and start packing up and check for airfares.

    Hi @Pittsky86,

What's the current status of your application? My agent lodged my student visa application last Nov. 29, 2019 and we did biometrics Dec. 9, 2019. Our visa application status changed to further assessment Dec. 19, 2019. There was a 2 weeks holiday Christmas and New year, and around 11:30 pm yesterday we received our grant. So more or less 3 weeks processing time. My orientation at Caberra University will be on Feb 3, 2020 i think if you've done your medical and there are no other requested docs you might be able get your visa on time.

They found a spot or something in his chest x-ray, so he had to do a sputum test (which takes 8 weeks to get the results) and it came out negative naman.

There's really no telling what the medical results will show, but if you're a reasonably healthy person with no history of TB or some serious illness, you don't need to worry too much. If possible, apply for the student visa as early as possible (at least 3 or 4 months) to account for unexpected delays (either with medical or visa processing).
