So sa 75 points, wala pang na-consider na points dun from work experience???

Same tayo, ME ako na may experience sa Power Plant industry. Nominated occupation ko eh ME pero dahil di nila na-feel na akma sa ME 'yung experience ko (which is weird), pinapili ako between Engineering Technologist or Production/Plant Engineer. :)

Anyway, all the best! Good luck!

Nice bro small world. Kung ganon, anong pinili mo? Kung engineering technologist ba eh macoconsider pa din education natin which is bachelor degree? Tapos kung Production/Plant Engineer naman, macoconsider na ba ang work experience natin? Kahit saan na ako bro basta makakataas ng point hehe although sobra weird satin as ME na di marecognize ang power plant exp.πŸ˜…

Just refer to my responses in the message box. Production or Plant Engineer ang pinili ko and na-credit naman ang work experience ko. Good luck sayo! :)

One of the major subject pa naman ang power plant sa ME.

So sa 75 points, wala pang na-consider na points dun from work experience???

hi @katzou99 Na-try mo na ba iexplore yung details ng production or plant engineer? baka kasi mas akma sayo yung description nun. share ko lang yung experience ko, ECE ako pero working in an oil refinery. Based sa skillcode ng Electronics Engineer, hindi ako makakalusot sa requirement nila dahil ang background ko ay Instrumentation and Control (maintenance and engineering). Pero under production/plant engineer, mas madali ko maipapaliwanag yung mga projects at accomplishments ko sa CDR under this skillcode. Check mo maigi yung details ng bawat skillcode na sa tingin mo ay pwede sayo then evaluate mo yung projects mo before kung pasok sa criteria nila. During the assessment, malaking factor ang CDR para makita ni assessor yung competency mo under your chosen skill kaya doon mo kailangan maipakita sa kanila na yung skill na napili mo ay nararapat based on their criteria. Good luck!

mas piliin nyo na production/ plant engineer, non quota occupation, ME at engineering technologits falls on quota occupation ibig sabihin mataas ang points kailangan at pahirapan ma invite pag non quota occupation mas malki chance nyo ma invite.....

Your employment status isn’t an issue as long as you’re claiming the accurate points

Hi! Newbie here. Seeking advice for which occupation to nominate.
I'm a Mechanical Engineering graduate with experience in facilities management. The role included operation and maintenance of building systems such as centralised air-conditioning, fire protection, domestic water, emergency power (generator), lift, etc. Medyo confused lang ako which one to choose between

    233512 MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Plans, designs, organises and oversees the assembly, erection, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical and process plant and installations. Registration or licensing may be required.
    Skill Level: 1

    Specialisations:

    Airconditioning Engineer
    Building Services Engineer
    Heating and Ventilation Engineer

    and

    149913 FACILITIES MANAGER

    Alternative Title:
    Building Manager

Organises, controls and coordinates the strategic and operational management of buildings and facilities in a public and private organisations to ensure the proper and efficient operation of all physical aspects of a facility, to create and sustain safe and productive environments for occupants.
    Skill Level: 2

    Specialisation:

    Shopping Centre Manager

I'm currently more of an FM since I control the operational management of the buildings and facilities that we manage.

I'm looking for any advantage if I choose one over the other aside from the fact that if I want 189, I'd have to go with Mechanical Engineer. Any advice would be appreciated :)

That’s correct. Always stick with facts, meaning base everything on the evidences that you can provide rather the ideal outcome you would hope for. You might find that application for facilities manager is less competitive than mechanical engineer which would be to your advantage.

Thanks for the replies! Is it because ME has an occupation ceiling that FM is deemed less competitive?

All occupations are subject to ceilings. One thing to note, FM won’t be eligible fir 189.

Hello, basta po lahat ng employment na gusto nyong I-claim Ang yrs of experience included man or not in the career episodes, dapat po ay magprovide Ng employment evidences as detailed in MSA. And then for employment na hindi kayo magclaim Ng yrs of experience, then it’s ok to just include it in your CV but no need to provide employment evidences. Once magsusubmit na kayo Sa EA website meron dun under employment history ung box to tick if will claim points or will not claim points. Hope this helps. All the best!

Thank you po sa info. Plan ko kasi ung current experience na lng isama ko total 5yrs nmn.. mhirap kasi mgbalik sa mga dating company pra manghingi ng documents..

sa panahon po ngayon pataasan po ng points para makakuha ng invite. kung sa palagay nyo po ay it wont add to your points even if you include your past employment, then its ok na wag na habulin. pero kung makakatulong ung past employment to increase your total points, then try to ask them. sayang din kasi ung points. you decide nalang po. all the best!

Based upon what you've described you wouldn't get a positive result from Vetassess as a Facilities Manager. This is assuming you're doing the maintenance work. A facilities manager must manage these services, not perform the services. You would need to show that you're NOT reporting to someone who is actually a facilities manager as well (since you're meant to be in that role).

For an engineering outcome the scope would fit Mechanical Engineer provided you're actually doing engineering work - complex problem solving, planning etc. In this particular role I would also expect you to be managing technicians doing the work. If you're doing the hands on work yourself you will face issues with the EA assessment. If you can't show sufficiently complex responsibilities you may end up with an Engineering Technologist outcome instead. Do look into everything carefully.

No, in fact you don't need to get work experience assessed by any skill assessing authority (for visa purposes).

The employment points claims are not determined by the assessing authority, even though it may look that way by the results the authorities issue.

This has been re-enforced by a policy change in 2019 that says you can count work experience based upon the ANZSCO skill level requirements if its more favourable than what the authorities say.

Short summary, you can claim relevant skilled work experience after your relevant degree whether it's on the assessment outcome or not.

There is one exception. Some states/territories want to see the experience on the skill assessment. This is mainly for ACS and mainly NSW and Qld. So just be aware of what the state/territory expects!
