Share ko narin: sobrang na-stress pa ako the day before our flight. May ka-chat kasi akong customer support from Cathay, then he pointed out to me the following:

"Under a temporary travel restriction, with some limited exemptions, Philippine citizens are not permitted to travel to or transit through Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR or Macao SAR."

    This is from:
    https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_AU/prepare-trip/travel-advisories/notice-regarding-travel-restrictions.html#:~:text=Entry restrictions,-Passengers who meet&text=Subject to Hong Kong government's,of quarantine in a hotel.

So nataranta ako, kasi di ko alam kung kukuha ba kami ng exemption or what.

But after doing a bit more research, we were able to conclude that that page is already outdated. :) So, whew! :)

Hi Guys ! Ive been lurking since Dec 2019 :) we have been planning our BM for quite sometime and purchased tickets from PAL last Feb 2020 (MLA -BNE) for October entry . but because of so much uncertainty we are thinking of trying to enter earlier maybe Sept via SG - BNE. Would really appreciate if anyone has any insight if " rebooking" a ticket is affected by this -" If, before midnight on 17 June 2020, you had a confirmed arrival date into Queensland, even if you arrive on or after 1 July 2020, you will not be required to pay the quarantine accommodation fee. Conditions do apply and evidence will need to be supplied. " https://tinyurl.com/yb58ek5y link to QLD site . appreciate any information . salamat !

    Hello,

    • I suggest asking directly from QLD re: quarantine costs, para sure. Mabilis naman sila mag reply through this form: https://www.qld.gov.au/contact-us
    • Ang isang option, sa Sydney mag quarantine (para free) then domestic flight nalang pa Brisbane after quarantine. Cost of flight is around P3,500 to P5,000 per pax from SYD-BNE.

Yung flights po ng PAL from MNL to SYD is July 10 and July 24. Yung SYD to MNL po ang July 11 and July 25.

Nagregister kami sa online form given by Australian Embassy. Tatawagan po ba kami to inform us in advance na may PAL flights in August and succeeding months?

Hi guys, we just arrived here in Oz two days ago and would like to share our experience:

    • We originally booked PAL on July 4, but was cancelled.

    • So we booked Cathay Pacific via the MNL-HKG-SYD route. Our flight from MNL departed around 10:30 last June 27. Ayaw narin kasi naming magbaka-sakali sa PAL, very uncertain ang flights.

    • We prepared our CFO certificates which we registered online, pero hindi naman siya hinanap sa Immigration.

    • The bags were tagged as "pass-through", meaning, derecho na siya sa Sydney. So, hand-carry nalang yung dala namin sa HK airport. And also, kinuha na namin yung boarding passes namin for both legs (MNL->HKG, then HKG->SYD). This is an important requirement sa HK transit. Check here: https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_HK/prepare-trip/travel-advisories/travel-requirements-for-passengers-transiting-through-Hong-Kong.html

    • We landed at HK at around 12:30pm. The HKG-SYD leg is scheduled at 11:30mn, so we have to wait around 11 hours.

    • We prepared for this long layover. Nagbaon kami ng mga malong at kumot at activities for the kids. Napatulog namin yung dalawa naming anak sa airport. The layover was better than we expected. Nakapag pahinga kami and freshen up. Maluwag yung airpot. Walang masyadong tao.

    • So we departed Hong Kong at around 11:30pm, then landed at Sydney at around 10:30am Australian time.

    • Dere-derecho na from the plane to health checks to immigration to bus to hotel room. We were assisted by the police with our baggages, kasi marami kaming dala.

    • We were provided with a unit na may two bedrooms. Everything is provided for.

Looking forward that you guys make it here safe as well. Ciao!

Thank you for sharing :) how much po naging airfare ninyo sa Cathay? Are you also a family of 4?

Hi @wintergreen . While waiting for @doobeedoodoo 's reply, allow me to share ours for MNL to MEL. Total USD 1,768.24 for a family of 4. Total baggage allowance 30kg x 4.

Ang catch - we are just waiting for this flight to be cancelled by CX so we can rebook for free. Closed ang VIC for arrivals up to 14th.

@zirko via Cathay din po kayo like @doobeedoodoo?

Mas recommended niyo po ba to take Cathay than wait for PAL's repatriation flights? Our PAL ticket before it was cancelled was around 74k for family of 4 inclusive of travel tax. Parang I read somewhere here or in FB na mas mahal daw yung repatriation flights.

@wintergreen CX because we could not wait any longer for a MEL repat flight. Besides, pricey ang ticket ng repat flight.

FYI sa mga papuntang Melbourne. Suspended mga flights for 14 days.

A total cap of 50 per incoming flights and 450 cap total per day..

Na cancell flight namin from Dubai to Sydney. :(
and i think it's because of the new mandate from SYD immig na 450 lang ina allow nila a day.

50 persons per flight and 450/per lang allowed... wag muna rebook, contact mo muna airline. Nagreply nko sa pm mo.. chat there!
