Parang 8 times cost ng PTE-A.
Another, Magagamit pa talaga natin yan sa Australia later on?

Opo, mahal nga talaga. Hindi po siya mgagamit to work as translator or interpreter. Dati po wala pang CCL so ibang exam ang kinukuha for that +5 points. I think 2 years ago lang po to sinimulan.

    Hi Everyone! :)

I had a quick query. Understanding the exams are all online now - how did it go? Your experience? How did the examiners manage Microsoft Teams and are we allowed to have notepad beside us? Any rules they say before taking exam?

Would love to hear about your experience. It would be much appreciated

A little about me Im a German but taking my NAATI exam in Filipino-English as I was raised back in Philippines and literally stayed there all my life despite my parents being from Germany and Im more confident talking in Filipino.

Hello po! Nag-iisip din kung magtetake ng NAATI.

Godbless!

hi @yohji , @Chinky03 . I'll try to answer your questions in this post.

I had my exam scheduled originally on Sept. 1, but I saw a post here saying that slots were opened at an earlier date, so I rescheduled it to July 1. I did this 2 weeks before the actual test date, so I had a 2 week lead time to review and prepare. The review time varies depending on the needs of each individual, but for me, 2 weeks was enough as there are only a few free review materials from NAATI and dialogues in Youtube, so you'll find that you're out of review materials very fast. I have 8 sample Eng-Fil dialogues that I downloaded from NAATI, and once I finished those, I referred to this site for a few more: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSmMakvSSTQNhp_zUGGi7_w/videos
These are all in English though so if you've got someone to help you, let them translate a few segments to Filipino, read those to you, then translate them back to English. If you finish through these too, you can search English dialogues or Tagalog dialogues in YT and there are a lot in there that you can use to practice.

Exactly a week before the actual test date, I received the calendar invite for the exam via e-mail. The exam will be held using MS Teams.

During the exam day, make sure that you are using a device with a camera. The whole session will be recorded by them. Your internet connection should be Broadband; using mobile data is not allowed. Further requirements by NAATI in undertaking the exam can be found on their site. Just make sure to read and understand those before taking it.

During the exam proper, the invigilator will require you to close all applications open in your computer (I was using a laptop). They will require you to turn off your mobile phone (they should see that you turned it off). They will also require that they see the four corners of the room that you are taking the exam in. All electronic devices in your closest vicinity should be removed. Lastly, they will require that you show them an ID for verification. I used my passport for this; I don't think there's another ID that can satisfy this requirement besides the passport. After these, they will read you the repeat and correction policy. They will also mention that the exam will only last for 20 minutes; they will stop the exam at 20 minutes and if you're not done by that time, they will only evaluate the parts of the exam that you finished up to that point. I don't know if you will be penalized for the parts that you will miss, so just make sure that you finish before 20 minutes.

For the actual exam, if you practiced with the NAATI materials, the feel of it will be exactly the same as that. This went by so quick I did not even notice it. The topics assigned to me were:

    1) Fil speaking lady inquiring with her bank on why she received a card in her mail that she did not apply for
    2) Fil speaking lady having her blood taken for a blood test

So there, those are my experiences. Let us know if you have further questions. Good luck!

Salamat @juju06 for the detailed explanation. Sorry po follow-up question.
    1. Need to translate from fil to english or english to fil everytime na maririnig ang bell? And dialog is the whole set of segments?
    2. If natapos na yung dialog, hindi naman need itranslate po lahat from segment 1 to last segment para mabuo yung isang dialogue po noh?
    3. Ano po pala strategy po ninyo pag nagsulat- nisusulat nyo pa po from original language or yung translated na (i.e if English ang segment, ang sinusulat nyo is Filipino na?)

    Maraming salamat po. Godbless! :)

    1. Yes po sa lahat.
    2. Hindi na po kailangan i-translate ang whole dialogue--One segment at a time after you hear the chime/bell.
Depende po sa style nyo kaya po I suggest you find your own technique that works best for you.

Pwede bang same lang rin? No translation.

    1) Description ng scenario (in english)

    2) Person speaking in english.. beep sound

    3) Person replying to #2 in tagalog... beep sound

    4) Then ung english speaker naman ung mag reply back.. repeat steps

Per segment, kung English sya, translate to Filipino (Tagalog), or vice versa.

    Hi GUYS!

If anyone is looking for a complete instructional video for NAATI CCL test, if you are not familiar how it works or ano yung step by step process for self-review at home. I recommend @MumVeng crash course for NAATI test. I took it 2 weeks before my test and it helped me to be confident before the online test. And got my passed results after 4 days. So worth it!

    Here's the link: https://crack-ed.thinkific.com/courses/ccl-10-day-cram-course. Goodluck!

Hello, Sir! Mock tests po is via Zoom meetings, 1-1 sessions, yes. But I cannot grade you like NAATI's scoring system. I can tally the frequency of your errors and advice which ones are affecting your score.

Hi @justred - did you get your results after 4 working days from taking the exam? Or as in 4 days, including weekends? Just wondering if I should be expecting my results soon kasi I took my exam Friday last week. Thanks!

    Hello everyone.

I just received my exam result today. And praised God, Thank you very much, I'm able to make it. I passed the exam.

To all future test takers, I advise na i avail nyo yung course ni @MumVeng . Tinake ko po yung course nya exactly 10 days before the exam. Despite na hindi ako maka pag bayad kagad dahil sa payment option problem, inenroll nya parin ako sa course nya dahil she wants me to focus on review rather than thinking about the payment. Very helpful yung mock test at practice material sa course ni Maam. Magiging handa ka talaga during exam at hindi kana mabibigla.

I tooked the exam on July 3, and ang swerte ko lang during that time dahil sobrang bait nung invigilator sakin. Migrant din sya and told me na madami siya na Filipino friends and colleagues and puro positive feedback and sinabi nya about Filipinos. Before the actual exam is nag kwentuhan muna kame mga less that 5 mins siguro kame nag uusap na parang long time no see na friends haha, para daw ma relax ako at hindi kabahan.

Goodluck po sa mga future test takers.

I just wanted to note also, that it looks like it's not always 4 days after the exam date, you get the results. Yung sa case mo, you took the test on July 3, then you received the results just today.
