    Hi,

Can anybody help? I've been looking in this forum for quite some time now. But I haven't done anything really. Mostly because I can see that there are a lot of steps and it causes me some severe anxiety thinking of all the paperworks. Anyways.

I'm a licensed Agricultural (and Biosystems) Engineer. And I'm just wondering if anybody can help me with the process.

So I checked with the post, and I checked and I found these:

    Skill Shortage List:
    Agricultural Engineer
    233912
    Engineers Australia

    Age: 25

    IELTS: No IELTS test exam

When I did the assessment, it gave me 75 points (I inputted that I have 8.0 bands in IELTS, and 3 years of experience (which is correct, almost 4 years actually).

I had my bachelor degree for 5 years add that with 4 years HS and 6 years Elem = 15 years of education. When checking at the MSA (Migration Skills Assessment) Booklet of Engineers Australia, I can qualify for an Engineering Technologist. Can I up this if I take a Technical Vocational Course for a year? Say I enroll in an Automotive NC II TESDA Course? Or being an Engineering Technologist is fine?

What should I do next? Should I take IELTS Exam? Should I submit a Skills Assessment on Engineers Australia? How much will it cost?

Also, after all this I know that you would file for EOI for a Visa, and then after that you can fly directly to AU? or do you need to have a work offer?

I'm sorry if this is long. I searched the forum and I found no "AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERS" lurking around in here or sharing their experiences while applying. Any help from similar or other engineering field might be helpful.

    TIA>

Skills assessment first then English test. Without these two hindi ka makakapag simula ng application. Skills assessment anjan na yung nga documents you need to consolidate from employers schools etc.

    Hi po,

Thanks po sa pagsagot. I just looked po sa MSA booklet for Engineers Australia Assessment, need po nila IELTS exam result. So need ko po pala muna ma-take yun.

After po ng EA Assessment, tyaka po makakapag-apply po for visa ganun po ba?

Your computation for comparable Australian education is incorrect. 15 points if they awarded you bachelor's degree (depends on your submitted requirement and Competency demonstration result) (CDR). IELTS General or PTE Academic are both accepted for EA assessment. So better po while gathering docs and doing CDR review na din for english exam kasi requirememt din yan sa application sa EA. Nasa MSA Booklet po lahat including costs and minimum mark sa english pati mga docs na needed. All the best po.

His degree will be recognised as equivalent to AQF bachelor because he’s a licensed engineer. Just to correct, if you are nominating Agricultural Engineer then you need to be assessed for that occupation and not for Engineering technologist.

Thank you po Ms. Rhea for answering my questions po.

Basically from the information that you have mentioned, you said that the EA Assesment that I should log is for an Agricultural Engineer. Furthermore, you said that me, being a license holder will be given full 15 credits. So I should not worry and just go ahead and consider applying for an EA Assessment for an Agricultural Engineer? Is that right. Thank you very much.

Oh, and I've read somewhere here that you some engineering professions are experiencing some quotas or something. Is the basis for that the ANZSCO Code? I check the DHA log for 233912 (Agricultural Engineers) and found that there are <5 granted visas. Does that mean that there are more slots for 233912 compared to others? If you can't answer this question, it's fine.

Thank you very much for giving some answers!!

I am not saying you should go ahead and nominate agricultural engineer. I don’t know your background at all and we have not done a proper consultation. My comments are only based in the limited information you have provided. Please don’t count this as an official advice. Check anzsco tasks and if it matches yours then you can decide to go ahead. Good luck 😉

Hello po. Pwede ko po ba makuha ang link to check yong mga professions ng spouse na pwede din nila i-assess pagpupunta ng Australia for permanent residency? ....to gain additional points po sana, to be added sa husband's points. Husband ko po kase and main applicant. Spouse po ako and I'd like to know if pwede ma-assess din nila yong credentials ko. Thank you po in advance.

Hello po. Ma question po ako. Hopefully makakuha po ako ng answer that can help me. Bachelor of Secondary Education po ako sa Pinas, with PRC license. No experience ng teaching sa Pinas. Pagdating ko po sa middle east, sa preschool po ako napunta para magturo for more than 2 years. Tapos, napunta po ako sa management, so i took a diploma in Business Managment at ngayon ay nagma-master ng Educational Management. May chance po ba ako na magpa-assess pa ng credentials? Parang hindi po kase related ang degree ko sa current work ko. Any advice po? Need ko po ba kumuha ng at least diploma lang sa Early Childhood Education? Will that be enough? Please advise. Thank you in advance.

In my opinion, ilagay mo pa rin. I guess it's the same logic with Employment History for the last 10 years, kahit hindi deemed relevant yung ibang episodes. It's just being honest with your current situation.

Good luck 😉

I understand you are not committed in giving advice based on these limited information.
    Thank you very much though.

Hi Ms. @RheaMARN1171933 and everyone, may clarification lang po. I'm currently on my residency status (thesis) sa Masters Degree ko sa open university.

In my opinion, ilagay mo pa rin. I guess it's the same logic with Employment History for the last 10 years, kahit hindi deemed relevant yung ibang episodes. It's just being honest with your current situation.

only EA's outcome letter can confirm if 15 points nga makukuha mo, depende yan s documents mo at assessment

EA (and all assessing authorities) makes reference to the Country Education Profile in determining the equivalence of the qualification. Hence, prior to lodging the skills assessment, one should check the CEP. If one finds that his/her qualification would equate to lower than an AQF bachelors degree, no point applying for skills assessment due to failing to meet the minimum qualification requirement for EA.

Now with reference to @AgEn2016 being a licensed Engineer, if one looks at the interpretation on qualification and it’s equivalence to AQF standards set out on CEP by the Department of Education and Training, one will find that if a qualification is from a section 2/3 listed university, it will be recognised as equivalent to an AQF bachelors degree if it’s backed up by an evidence of passing a professional licensure exam which is the case. Hence, it doesn’t matter what section @AgEn2016’s is listed under as he meets the minimum qualification requirement for skills assessment.

Now with reference to clarifying what was said about only EA can confirm the claiming of points, just to avoid confusion...

The actual legislation - Migration Regulations 1994 states that in determining the equivalence of overseas qualification, the law refers to what is set out on CEP.

All assessing authorities (including EA) base their skills assessment criteria for migration purposes around the criteria set out on the Migration Regulation 1994. Hence they refer to the CEP in assessing the qualification.

Therefore it can be concluded that in determining the points claimable for qualification, it is actually set out by CEP. Hence one has an idea of points already prior to the assessment outcome if he/she knows how to use information on CEP.

EA skills assessment outcome only confirms the equivalence of the qualification but not the points one can claim since they do not provide points advice. also one can take into consideration that should the outcome is positive, it goes without saying that the minimum qualification for skills assessment has been met, hence it is safe to assume that minimum 15 points can be claimed.

Thank you very much for this starter list. I haven't read about the skillselect, though I have visited and looked through the ANZSCO 233912 of Agricultural Engineers and I am quite confident that my past employment history and job responsibilities will be able to back up my claims. I do have complete documentations with payslip, offer letter and ITR to back up the claim for my previous job and my current employment.

Right now I haven't read the MSA booklet thoroughly and I would intend to do it ASAP so I can begin preparing my CDR. I don't have any format for that though, so I'll maybe search the forum or google to look for examples.

Regarding my points, I have targets to achieve in order to have 90 points or higher. Like achieving competent on IELTS, or staying one more year in my job to have 5 years experience or even being NAATI certified interprete/translator for Filipino/Tagalog if possible. But for now I am preparing and seriously looking into my chances of being invited or being granted for 189 or 190.

For english test, I have recently attended an IELTS review center, but I've heard that it is easier to score higher on PTE Test so I'll check that out.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Ms. Rhea, yes. Thank you again for your comment on my concern. As of now I intend to study more regarding my chances of securing an ITA or even a Visa. Hehe. Thank you very much for taking a look at my concerns.

Regarding the schools, last I checked my university (Central Luzon State University) is at Level 1 in the schools, and I do have a PRC License, so I think I can nail the points for my educational background. (I can secure a TOR and I do have my Diploma, I also have a valid PRC license and I have my test result certificate).

On my employment, I have worked in the agriculture sector on my jobs so I'm kinda confident that I can fit into the ANZSCO description of an Agricultural Engineer. Thank you for your comment on this.

I'm so glad for your client who was granted a visa for a low points, I'm sure your services did helped him/her. If I ever need any services at least I do know one name to contact

I'm taking this process one step at a time, I don't want to get overwhelmed with everything or rush things through. Thank you for your help.

No worries. All the best. Definitely a lot to take in. This forum is helpful because you can get a lot of information but at the same time too much info can be overwhelming too. Hence you need to make your own judgement as well. Also not everything here can be assumed to be correct in the same way as any info you gather from the internet so best to always double check the guidelines from the authority. A lot of members here who are active are very generous with sharing the info they know and that alone is such a great support already.

All the best to your journey.

Thank you very much for your help.

    all the best to you
