What do you guys think of the budget announcement? Di ko alam saang thread ko ipopost kaya dito na lang. Looks like family, regional and global talent will be prioritized (for now).

meron na bang list for the skilled occupations? TIA.

wala naman sinabi about changing the SOL. ang sabi lang e yung migration ceiling na 160,000 is still the same. So malamang same pa rin yung SOL.

This could mean it's good if they will start processing offshore. because 160,000 places will be until June-July 2021, right? so that means more places can be granted in hte following months.
    Am I understanding this correctly?

Based on what I saw from other forums, skilled visa only have 50k places. Inlcuded na jan lahat ng skilled 189,190,491. They put the other places majority to family stream and global talent.

Yes and sa 50k na yan, malaking chunk yung 189NZ stream po. 160k ceiling yes but that doesnt mean they will fill up 160k. FY20 was 160k ceiling din pero parang mostly kada bwan 100, 100, lng ang iniinvite sa 189.

Hello guys!!!! CO contacted us last March for additional requirements (health related). Na-update na siya ng Health Care provider so cleared na kami sa medical and all. However, when I check Attach Documents part, yung "I confirm I have provided information requested", clickable pa din siya? Should we click this? Anyone encountered this?

wala naman sinabi about changing the SOL. ang sabi lang e yung migration ceiling na 160,000 is still the same. So malamang same pa rin yung SOL.

This could mean it's good if they will start processing offshore. because 160,000 places will be until June-July 2021, right? so that means more places can be granted in hte following months.

I was talking to a friend na sa mga waiting for grants, secured naman daw and slots, and problem lang is kung gaano kabilis i-process ng DHA. Hopefully, more updates/news will be released tomorrow that will discuss sa mga naghihintay nalang sa grants. :)

Sabi din yan ng friend ko, the figures set by the immigration ay for the invites. So yung mga nakalodge na hindi na dapat magworry sa slots. Kumbaga we’re secured and wait na lang for the visa grant. It’s just a matter of patience lang talaga.

Hello! matanung lang po kung mandatory na po ba ang "Relevant Skilled Employment Assessment" sa pagprocess ng visa 189?
I didn't avail this "Relevant Skilled Employment Assessment" because I'm pretty sure po na relavant po yung employment at job description ko sa ANZSCO code ko and i already have positive skills asssessment. Nagback read po ako na may nabasa ako na ilan na di na nagprocess nito, di ko lng po sigurado kung mandatory na yun sa application ng skilled visa

That’s correct. This is only applicable to those waiting for invite for financial year 2020-2021. Be mindful that this isn’t a permanent predicament. Every start of the financial year in July, policies/processes are updated to address the economic situation. The best way to address the current situation is to focus on looking at getting more points to claim. There will be better days after this pandemic period for sure.

Good pm everyone. Based on this announcement https://www.business.nsw.gov.au/live-and-work-in-nsw/visas-and-immigration selected professions lang ang maiinvite, and ung dapat nasa au na.

Does this mean that all offshore EOIs will be on-hold until further notice?

Please back read. I’ve made a post recently that this is for FY 2020-2021. The government is being responsive to the current global situation so it makes sense for them to come up with such process. Every start of financial year in July, policies are updated in accordance to the economic needs of Australia. They’re not saying skilled migration is closed but prioritised to onshore applicants. Hence, it is very crucial to get things right for those applying from offshore. Whilst it will definitely be a long wait for those on EOI stage, the best approach for both on EOI and skill assessment stage is to exhaust ways to claim maximum points during this time.

There will always be a great need for skilled migration as it drives the economy. Once pandemic is over/vaccine is available, there will be pressure from various industries to reboost population growth so the government would have to respond to it.

Carry on guys, there will be better days later and when that time comes, make sure you’ve set your case to a good position.

I will be conducting a webinar later in the month. Will announce it soon.

When to apply for a BVB
Consider your circumstances before you apply for the BVB.

You can only apply for and be granted a BVB if you are in Australia.

When we consider your application for a BVB, we will take into account when we are likely to make a decision on your substantive visa application to avoid unduly delaying this process.

We recommend you apply for a BVB no more than 3 months and no less than 2 weeks before you want to travel.

In order to be eligible for a bridging visa, you need to be currently in Australia on valid visa (onshore) when you apply for the next visa (189, 190, 500, etc). You cannot separately apply for a bridging visa as you would for 189, 190, 500; it will automatically be granted/issued once you have lodged your next substantial visa. Typically Bridging Visa A (BVA) will be granted, which allows you to stay in Australia, with the work rights/restrictions from your previous visa carried over while the BVA is valid. You can leave Australia, but you can't get back in unless you apply for and get issued a Bridging Visa B (BVB) before you leave; BVB which allows you to re-enter Australia. The bridging visa only starts once your existing visa lapses/expires, and is valid until your next visa is granted.

If you are currently in the Philippines (so you're offshore) and are waiting for the 189 visa to be granted, you can enter Australia through a tourist visa, but you will not have any work rights. Tourist visas are short-term, so you will be expected to leave the country if you don't get the 189 visa grant before the validity period is up. For example, if you plan to stay for 2-3 months, you'll need to be able to provide evidence that you can financially support your stay without working in Australia (tourists cannot work, even if you are waiting for the 189 visa grant). The length of the tourist visa validity issued depends on the case officer.

P.S.: My knowledge on BVA is based on research and personal experience, because I've been issued one automatically when I applied for a second student visa in Aug 12 this year. The BVA never got activated because the second student visa was granted before my first student visa expired.

In addition to what was said above, bridging visa literally bridges a non- au citizen from one visa to another. It only takes effect once the current visa has expired and you’re still waiting for a decision on a visa application - when you’re in between visas. The purpose of a bridging visa is to keep you a lawful non-citizen of Australia. Once the bridging visa takes effect, the visa conditions of your previous visa will apply.

Can you recommend a good migration agent or lawyer to help me with this? Or can i do this myself? I feel like it's going to be a bit tricky. Thank you in advance

    Hi everyone,

I just renewed my passport. I already had it changed to my married name. Tentative release is on October 12-15. Pero di ko pa po pinacancel yung old passport ko under my maiden name. Hawak ko pa. Icacancel lang nila pagclaim ng new passport.

All my docs are okay naman na po, ready na.

If you were on my feet, maglodge na ba ako ngayon ng visa and inform na lang DHA sa change of circumstance pagdating ng bagong passport. Or, wait ko na lang yung bagong passport? Tho medyo matagal pa naman deadline ko sa November 11 pa po.

    I need your insights po.

    Thank you

I suggest ( just my opinion lang ha) you apply with your old passport. Yan kasi ginamit mo sa EOI na nainvite e. So if you lodge with a different passport and you even changed your name, macoconfuse ang CO. After lodgement, may button sa Immiaccount that you can update you details including passport. I did that with my son, okay naman nag notify naman ng change of details sa email ko.

hi sir pano po kung makukuha ko na next week ung bagong passport is it ok na ung new passport na gamitin ko to lodge? or should i use the old passport and update with new one after lodging?
Also nagkamali po ako ng inenter na assessment date sa EOI what steps should i do to update it for visa lodging step? thank you!
