Just to clarify on the partner points, 5 points for competent English and 10 points for competent English AND positive skills assessment

just to check if my understanding is correct, the partner should be on the same SOL list, right? if one is on the STSOL and the other is MLTSSL (main applicant on the STSOL), we can only claim 5 points, right?

also, would it be worthwhile to claim with DHA work experience that is not included in the assessment by the relevant assessing authority?

    Hello, everyone.

I had a positive outcome for my MSA and RSEA already.
My partner is also of the same skillset as with me, Civil Engineer.
I just want to know, kailangan din ba niya magpaassess ng MSA if di naman siya yung primary applicant for visa 190?
Our plan kasi is ako ang magapply for EOI ng visa 190, then secondary ko siya. Pero to get the full point, dapat may competent Enlish siya and same skill as mine.
Pwede ba na hindi na siya magpaassess sa EA and just prove yung skill niya sa Home Affairs through diploma, certificates, prc license, and certificate of employments?

Hi Bro, enable for you to claim another 5 points, you spouse must have positive skill assessment. Kung hindi po sya naassess ng relevant authority you can’t claim 5 points for skill. Nakasaad kasi doon na kailangan meron positive skill assessment sa relevant authority. If yung spouse nyo ay hnd mag papaassess, only 5 points lang ang makukuha nyo pra sa criteria nya.
Yung RSEA no need na for her, pero kung sayo ikaw main applicant, I recommend na mag avail ka ng RSEA, for your peace of mind narin pero sa huli ay ang DHA parin ang mag dedecide nyan sa years of experience mo kung relevant ba ito.

So need din niya mag apply for MSA or pwede din kahit stage 1 assessment na lang yung kunin niya?

Hello po, I just got my positive outcome from EA today but I'm curious about the difference between Completed/Awarded on the outcome letter. Anyone knows what's the difference between the two? Can I claim the 15pts for Bachelors degree or is it just 10 pts for attaining a qualification or award recognized by the relevant assessing authority? I have "Awarded" in my letter but have Bachelor Degree in AQF Level.

Hi everyone. Ask ko lang if marerecognize ba ni EA ang work experience ko here in Oz. I'm currently working for 1 year now as an Electrical Engineer but yung salary ko is $50,000 lang. Is this enough for the relevant skill assessment? Nabasa ko kasi sa booklet na work experience should be paid at the market or
salaried rate for engineering professionals. Anyone here who can enlighten this or maybe has the same experience?

    Hi, good day!

Would like to check if baka may nakaexperience na po sa inyo ng ganito na scenario:

Employed for 6 yrs dito sa Pinas and since maliit lang si company na contractor, hindi nya binabayaran ang tax and SSS and other supporting docs na magagamit sana for EA Assessment. So mabibigay lang nila is COE for primary document. So I am thinking kung pano kaya yung secondary documents na kailangan ko. How to check po kaya if pwede pa maassess for RSEA?

    Maraming salamat po.

How about Job Offer letter? Mayroon po ba kayo nito?

Good (rainy ) afternoon engineers. I'm making a course for CDR Writing and looking for course testers around the 3rd or 4th week of November. If you plan to submit an MSA application by December, you may send me a message and apply as a course tester/reviewer. At the end of the course, you will have a CDR ready in 14 days or less. Thanksy, community!!!

Why do a course? You just need to follow the guidelines. That’s what all my clients have done and we’ve not had any negative outcomes to date. I don’t think such course is necessary. If one is able to gain an engineering qualification from university then he/she’s capable of producing a CDR.

Have you written a CDR, Ms. Rhea? It's not just about writing skills. My course considers that these engineers have other priorities in their life. The reality is that they have the ability to write reports but not the focus and time to produce them. That is the problem that my course aims to address.

    hello engineer!!

Good day. Question lang po regarding sa career episodes. Required ba na magpakita ng computation or design calculation? Civil engineer po ako na more on site supervision ang experience. Maraming salamat sa sasagot!!! cheers!

Oh, is it your course? I didn’t realise that. Apologies, I didn’t mean to negate your comment. I haven’t written a CDR since I’m not an engineer and I don’t need to write one. So far my clients were able to produce them just by following the guidelines along with guidance/feedback from us and had successful results. We’ve not had an EA skills assessment fail. Hence, something I would not think of recommending. And yes, they are capable to write CDRS and must invest time to produce one. We agents don’t really encourage clients to third party providers as we need to make sure they do these things by themselves. It would be unethical for us otherwise.

All the best on the course you’re running.

Hi Mga Kabayan and Fellow Civil Engineer, I am new in this forum. I got concern a lot of question regarding migration/working to Australia.
I am a licensed Civil Engineer in PH. PH experience: - Four (4) years’ experience as a Site Engineer in Building Projects in PH, Singapore Experience: -1 (one) Year as Project Engineer and Three (3) Years as QS Total of 8 Years Working experience. I am planning to take Visa 189 or 190, currently am drafting my CDR but am doubted what should I Write in my Career Episodes.
    • Am drafting my Career EP 1 regarding my thesis manuscript during my student time. This thesis was about research on how to strengthen the concrete using the steel waste fiber generated from lathes machines. So there’s an involvement of calculation, concrete analysis, etc. and social and environmental contribution.
    • Career Episode 2&3- On progress drafting but It's more in Site operation and completion of Building project.
I got a concern that hoping you could help me as follows:
    1. Is my 3 years’ experience as QS can recognize as related working experience for the nominated skill occupation I wish to apply for?
    2. I read the MSA booklet Clause 2.5.2 stated, “career episode is an account of your engineering education and/or work experience”. That’s why I drafted my career ep 1 during my engineering Educ. Is my Career Episode 1 drafting being strong enough? Or I should focus on 4 years of working experience as a civil Engineer?
    3. If using a point calculator, I could have 75 Pts for 189 while 80 Pts for 190. What type I should select 189 or 190. Or any other visa you can advise?
    4. I’m also exploring maybe select the visa 491 I could have 90Pts. Understand this is not PR. Any concern or disadvantage of this visa?
    5. Gusto ko n kc po I process ng rush para atleast mkpunta nako sa Australia at mkawork. If hindi po ako successfully n ma invite sa 189 OR 190 baka don muna ako sa 491. Any thoughts on this?
Hope you guys can answer all my question. Thanks in advance!

Let me try to answer your questions boss, but best if you either consult an agent, or read through the EA manual several times over just to be sure.
    1. You should be able to include the 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor since some Civil Engineers start out their careers as QS. It all depends how you craft your episodes. Make sure you align your episodes with the ANZSCO description of a Civil Engineer.
    2. It is alright to refer one of your episodes to your studies but in my opinion, best to have your episodes refer to your work experience. if you refer to your studies, you have to ensure you have complete supporting documents to support your claim.
    3. you can apply for both when you lodge your EOI
4 & 5. you won't be a PR and would have to go through the lodgment process in 3 years' time. if you want to risk it, no issues with that. in my opinion, we won't know what will happen in the next 3 years so if you have a chance to get a PR now, that is always the best option.

@TotoyOZresident Hi Sir, appreciate your answers.. another question :- how is the EA will merit your years working experience is this base on your CV stating the years of working experience (with supporting document) or base on your CDR? or they will consolidate all and be basing only on my CV? My understanding is that each career episode shall demonstrate/focuses on my "specific period" of your "engineering activity". so my CDR not necessarily covered all of years experience, the CV will give the overview of your working experience which they will look into how they award your claiming points. any thoughts on this? slamat!

Hi, ECE graduate po ako, hindi po ako licensed ECE. Tatanong ko lang po sana kung may naassess po ba dito from sec 3 school as Professional Engineer na hindi rin po licensed?
    Thank you

San po kayo ng wowork ngayon? if overseas employed kayo need po ng certifications ng governing body dyan na certified kayo to work as Engineer. if sa pinas po need tlga ng PRC license to be assessed by EA.

Hi Sir, sa Smart po ako nagwowork ngayon. With 4 years experience (2 years sa agency 2 as regular employee). PRC license po ba need ko kung sakali?

I am revisiting and rephrased my question, theres still a doubt and confusion been running on my head, such a question regarding how to claim the points from my working experience. As explain to yours previously.
    1. I got a total 8 years of experience (5 years site civil engr + 3 years QS) but the question is how to successfully claim this working experience?
    2. My understanding that Engineer Australia can assess your degree qualification and skill through Standard CDR. (Let say i will write my CDR from my 5 years CE experience with supp doc) However how about other remaining experience?
    3. Is the 5 years experience that I demonstrated in CDR could award 5 years experience by EA?
    3. Do i need to engage additional service such RSEA from EA to assess the remaining work experience? or this addtl service can assess all my work experience?
    4. Is there’s other way to claim all 8 years experience without the additional service.? I hope you guys can help me on above clarification.

Hi fellow engineers, just cross posting here. Basically civil in general ang experience ko, so applying for 233211 - Civil Engineer. But I have different roles like sa project management, execution, proposal/bidding, quantity surveying, warranty stage, etc, all of those are part of my job as CE. Im just confused kasi yung sa ANZSCO may separate na quantity surveyor, construction project manager, civil engineer, etc. Planning to put my experience as bid project manager sa career episode ko. Would that be okay? or that falls under construction project manager? Under kasi dun yung tender and contract bids. Thank you in advance.

    Hi RheaMarn,

Let me rephrase my inquiry, actually am looking for an agent (if there is) to assist to check my drafted CDR. basically I created my CDR just looking for any agent to go thru on it, check as per their experiences to ensure be in order and accordance to EA. is this kind service is existing ?

Hi Bella, i think we have similar case. i am CE with site operation experience and now QS working. If I refer to ANZSCO, QS in within the unit group of CE professional. thus, our QS experience are related to Civil Engineer. Creating CDR with our QS experience is quite complex because you have to ensure that the content shall comply with CE prof competency element (MSA Booklet). so as long u can correlate the QS work in CE competency then could be fine. I saw sample in the internet a QS CDR
