Sure pm mo ko. Oo sobrang mahal talaga. Or try to find scholarships kasi baka qualified ka naman.

Hello po! My name is Tin, nasa Sydney po ako ngayon. Is anyone here who can give me any tips? or if you have any recommended school? I am keen to move to a regional area as well.

If I may ask, what are you currently studying in Sydney? Related to Nursing?
I have a friend who studied Nursing at USC. What type of tips/recos are you looking for exactly? I can try to ask my friend about her experiences in studying there (she's not on this forum kasi).

ung pasok sa banga na 2 years + Proj management na focuses on engineering / construction / built environment ay sila UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE, WESTERN SYDNEY, SWINBURNE UNIVERSITY. not sure kung meron pang iba,. ung ibang schools either focuses on the business side or 1.5 years lng duration.
si swinburne may 30% automatic na scholarship - depends on your qualifications
kay wsu naman meron din 7k aud na scholarships - meron pa syang exit route na certificate - if 6 months lng natapos mo, diploma if 12 months tpos masters pag natapos mo na buo.

Hi,
I am currently studying Advanced of Diploma of Leadership and Management.
What I am really after is that, is Sunshine Coast a good location? Given that it is a regional area, I'm a little bit confused if I'll choose to study there. I don't have any background in Nursing but I like to do it because it has been my dream and one of the fastest way of becoming a PR.
Also, is USC a good school? Since nasa Sydney po kase ako, I haven't heard anything from that school. My sister went to SCU but they don't have July intake for international students.

Yung brother in law ko kasi gusto namin help sa pag aaral nya but my wife is not working at the moment. We have huge savings here in Au but accepted ba ang in-law (brother in law nya ko) to be a sponsor? Salamat po sa sasagot
God bless guys

Hi Guys.
I'm planning to study in Australia to increase my points for Visa 189/190. I am currently at 85/90.
I would like to ask if I can claim extra points under the Australian Study Requirement and Study in Regional Australia (Perth) on the basis of the following:
Also, if I was still invited based on my current 85/90 points pero nagrant na ang Student Visa, can I still proceed with the application for 189/190?
Thank you po!

Hello, kumusta kayo dito?
Sana mag-announce yung immigration regarding this issue para malinaw.

Sa ngayon mas importante sakin may full time work ako to sustain my study expenses (more than 1M na so far ang tuition na nabayaran . Another option pag nandun na ko is to do a professional year or gain extra points for 1 year local experience.

Hello, anyone here po who took or will take masteral by research(any course)? para makakuha ng 10points for PR.. any insights po cos i’m planning to take masters by research for IT next year.. thank you!

Very competetive! You have to come up with a research proposal that will get the university’s attention. I tried once and they dismissed it saying it’s not enough. Good luck! If you’re in IT, think of something along the lines of Data Science, Blockchain, or Cryptography!

I am taking PhD at the moment. While I know you can get additional points, 5 points lang ang difference nya from the bachelor's/master's degree. If you're referring to the Australian study as the other 5 points, then yes I guess you will get 10 additional points from studying a MRes/MPhil/PhD.
What kind of insights are you after?

Di po kayo pwede mag LOA sir? Ako rin ganyan yung classes ko 1am. Kaya nag LOA ako at pumayag naman sila. Pero hinighlight ko sa reasons ko na due to Covid saka border closure, di ako makaka-attend ng face-to-face classes at hindi ko kaya mag-online class kasi may work ako (tied to my residency here abroad.)

No one can tell until 2023 arrives. The government can speculate or propose timelines, but in the end it will depend on how well the pandemic is being managed by countries outside Australia.

Hello mga kabayan
I just want to ask. I am Planning to take Student visa with a course of Leadership and Management (2Years)
I want to know more what can you recommend of what can I do when I finish the course. I understand that there is no pathway to PR for this course but my job experiences is related to it, more of Admin Assistant / Customer Service. I am now currently employed here in the Philippines as Branch Operations Specialist.
I am graduate of BS Hospitality Managament major in Tourism and my dilemma is that my Bachelors is not related sa work experience ko.
My concern is since there is no post graduate stay being offered.
What can be my other options after graduation
Is there anyone who are graduates of the course and what did you do after?
or baka you can recommend other options for me. 😬
Thank you very much po!

Can you give some high-level background about requirements, costs, timeline and required study/research hours? Thank you

I'm doing my PhD about Lighting Design (under the Faculty of Engineering).
Requirements for applying for the PhD program varies a bit between universities, but generally you need a PhD proposal, someone willing to supervise you (who has the expertise in what you're researching), completed application form, documentation (academic transcripts, CV/resume), publications/writing sample (your application looks more competitive if you have some published research work, but not always required).
Eligibility for a PhD program is usually a research master's degree (MRes/MPhil), unless you have completed a degree wherein 25% of it was research/thesis (like doing one sem of thesis in a 2-year master of science or one year of thesis in a 4-year bachelor's degree). If you don't immediately qualify, you may be admitted to the MRes or MPhil program, and then request to upgrade to PhD after one year of doing the research master.
The cost of doing the PhD as an international student is around AUD 40k/year (tuition fees). If your prospective university offers scholarships, apply for them. Once you get in contact with a prospective PhD supervisor, ask them if they have faculty-specific scholarships. Based on my observation and research, there's more funding for PhD than master's degree by coursework. If they don't offer a scholarship this year, try applying next year. One of my friends waited for 6 months before she was offered a PhD scholarship---it really depends on the timing and availability of funding.
Timeline for applying really depends on you. The most difficult part is the proposal and finding a supervisor. Some PhDs create their own research, while others just work on what the supervisor wants (I'm in this category, so I didn't have to start from scratch). If you're creating your own research, it could take you 3-6 months before you can churn out a decent research proposal. The application process itself was relatively quick in my case, maybe 3-4 weeks.
Required study/research hours? As a full-time research student, you are expected to do research for at least 40 hours/week---the same amount of time you would spend for a full-time job. You could easily spend hours just scouring the web for journals/articles relevant to your topic, skimming through the abstracts, coding literature (a.k.a. categorizing or taking notes), attending writing workshops (if you're not very confident with your writing skills), attending career seminars, etc. In my case, I don't really count the hours I "study" because my schedule varies day to day. I can be lazy one day and accomplish nothing (just thinking or something) then the following day be motivated enough to write 1000 words. What matters more to me is that I get work done---PhD is output based, so it really depends on the person.
