    What is your husband's current visa while he's onshore?

    As far as I know, bridging visas are only granted when you have a valid visa already in effect (you are onshore) and you apply for another substantive visa. You generally can't apply for bridging visa separately like any other kinds of visa; they are granted automatically once you submit a visa application but they won't take effect or be valid until your current visa expires.

    For example, if a current student visa expires on August 1, and another substantive visa is lodged (like a 485 graduate visa), the bridging visa is automatically applied for when you submit the 485 visa application. The bridging visa will be in effect only from the time the student visa expires (August 1 or 2), and will be valid until Home Affairs can make a decision on the 485 visa. But bridging visas can only carry over the work rights and conditions as the previous visa. If the previous visa does not allow you to work (like the tourist visa), the bridging visa will also carry the same restrictions.

    In your case, if hindi pa granted yung 190 visa mo, I think that doesn't count as a valid visa yet, only your tourist visa. So if you enter Australia on a tourist visa, that becomes the visa in effect, and to get a bridging visa, you'd have to apply for another substantive visa. But because your 190 visa is already pending (as it was submitted before the tourist visa), I'm not quite sure if that situation will allow you to apply for a separate bridging visa. Maybe try consulting with a migration agent to confirm if your situation will allow you to lodge a bridging visa without having to lodge another substantive visa application?

Sa eligibiliy, I read that you can apply if you held or hold subtaintive visa. In our case, I also held 485. It says naman po na pwede mag-apply separately if hindi automatically granted.

    I read further and looks like we are eligible to apply. But hopefully before kami bumalik sa Australia ay lumabas na rin ang PR visa namin na 2020 pa naapply.

    I see. So nagka-BVA yung husband mo kasi onshore sya when the 190 visa was lodged. DIY ba kayo with your 190 application? If may agent kayo, maybe just confirm if eligible nga kayo for BVA, and if you have to apply for it before traveling or pag onshore na kayo.

    The potential problem nga lang is baka work restrictions ng tourist visa ang mag-apply sa BVA mo, instead of the 485 (no restrictions) kasi yun tourist visa ang in effect pagdating nyo dito :neutral:

    Good day po! It's me again! Hoping to find some answers sa kapwa nag-aantay.

    Finally nagalaw na po ang baso sa application namin. It was lodged on October 2020, onshore.

    Ngayon po may request for new medical examination samin. Ang dilemma ko po ay meron kaming existing valid medical examination result na ginawa for our Visitor visa application last March 2022. I would like to know kung posible po bang magamit ang result na to para sa 190 application? At magpatest na lang kami ng other required tests na hindi kasama sa medical result sa Visitor visa application?

    No use nga po yung agent namin. Di responsive. I don't mind not having working rights naman po on BVA basta makapagstay na lang muna kami sa Australia dahil ang tagal na namin nalayo sa asawa ko.

    However, ngayon po may CO na yung 190 application namin. Just last Saturday. Nagwowork sila even on weekends. We were asked to supply more information. Hopefully lumabas na yung PR namin para di ko na problemahin yung BVA.

    as far as I know pwede to. Kasi nagamit ko yung existing medical ko from 485 to 190.

    Pwede ko po ba malaman ano po ginawa nyo para ma-"credit" yung existing at valid medical exam sa 190 application nyo? Our agent is not very much helpful at gusto na lang mag undergo ulit kami ng whole process para di na sya magtanong sa immigration.

    Ni-link ng agent ko yung existing HAPID namin tapos nag pa medical kami doon sa isang test na rinerequire pa (since hindi namin to nagawa doon sa existing medical namin). Hindi ko na masyado maalala, pero hiningi lang nila yung dati naming HAPID tapos nagcreate sya ng bago. Pilitin mo yung agent mo na ireuse yung old medical nyo since additional cost nanaman kung uulitin nyo.

    Ganto yung itsura nung bagong HAPID namin.

    as far as I know pwede to. Kasi nagamit ko yung existing medical ko from 485 to 190.

    Pwede ko po ba malaman ano po ginawa nyo para ma-"credit" yung existing at valid medical exam sa 190 application nyo? Our agent is not very much helpful at gusto na lang mag undergo ulit kami ng whole process para di na sya magtanong sa immigration.

    Ni-link ng agent ko yung existing HAPID namin tapos nag pa medical kami doon sa isang test na rinerequire pa (since hindi namin to nagawa doon sa existing medical namin). Hindi ko na masyado maalala, pero hiningi lang nila yung dati naming HAPID tapos nagcreate sya ng bago. Pilitin mo yung agent mo na ireuse yung old medical nyo since additional cost nanaman kung uulitin nyo.

    Ganto yung itsura nung bagong HAPID namin.

    Ask ko lang po if my PTE will expire this October and I will lodge my visa for 491 this August. Do I need to retake my PTE exam while waiting for the grant (considering matagal ang processing time ng visas right now)? Thank you po

    No. I don't think so. The points you gained the moment you are invited is locked in. Whether your PTE expires before grant doesn't matter as long as it is not before invitation.

    Asking for advice again po!

    Yung asawa ko nag-renew ng passport just last July 29. At July 30, we received s56 request for medical. Ngayon, hindi po sya makapagproceed sa medical exam dahil wala syang passport. Nag-email na sya sa email address na binigay ng immigration para tanungin anong alternative ID ang pwede nyang gamitin, pero until now wala pa ring response.

    Anyone po na nakakaalam how to contact authorities regarding this matter?

    Di na sinasama ang lumang passport na inuupload sa immi kasi nakaindicate na yan sa Form 80 and Form 1221.

    Pero yung police clearance sa ibang countries na hindi expired kailangan isama. Lalo na if you stayed in other countries for at least 1 year. Kung wala ka police clearance, makacase officer contact ka niyan for sure.

    Sa mga tatawag sa DHA, wag kayo sa DHA Sydney kumontact, sayang lang ang long distance call. Sa sobrang haba ang waiting period, oras ang aabutin. Try niyo tumawag DHA Canberra. Matagal rin, mga 30-45 minutes ang waiting period.

    Yung magssponsor sakin nag lodge na sila ng SBS. gaano po ba katagal yun? and if approve pede bang pagsabayin ang nomination at visa lodgment? thanks po sa sasagot.

    hi to all! i have pending visa lodge application for 491 already (1 month ago). and since open na yung 22-23 program for 190 offshore, i am planning to submit another eoi. if i received state 190 nomination, while my 491 visa lodge is still pending in immiaccount, what is the best option --- withdraw my 491 application and submit visa lodge application for 190? hoping for answer and suggestions.

    @datch29 pre pareho kayo ng concern :)

    Ang 491 visa po kasi ay hindi PR visa, need po mag-comply under certain conditions for 3 years, then magiging eligible to apply for a 191 PR visa later on.

    Ang 190 visa po ay PR visa na, so if straight-forward comparison with 491, mas better ang 190.

    Ang factor to consider po for me is 'yung waiting time for visa grant. We'll never know gaano po talaga katagal or ano ang mas mabilis na maga-grant between 491 and 190, nasa kamay na po ito ng DHA.

    At the end of day, it's your decision pa rin po talaga, patience-wise and money-wise. Good luck po!

    And just to add po pala, 491 visa ang na-grant sakin last June. Happy naman po ako :)

    Hi. Tanong ko lang po kun sino yung may experience lately na magfeedback o magkontak sa DHA regarding visa application? Nasa further assessment po kasi status ng application namin after namin magsubmit ng S56 additional doc a month ago (NBI clearance). Thanks.
