example po ang scenario is mauuna ang primary applicant na pumunta sa Australia, then after 2 months susunod ang dependent.

Or mas ok papalit dito sa money chabgers or banks. If papalit po dito anong money chabgers ang okay? From Calamba laguna po kami. Thanks

If papapalit ka and you'll bring cash into Australia, just be mindful not to exceed A$10K, otherwise you will need to declare it, possibly show proof na sayo ang pera and matanong ka bakit ka may dalang ganung kalaking cash. I would try not to bring anywhere near A$10K to be safe (ako lang naman lol) and mag-wire transfer na lang.

Not sure if may branches near Calamba.

@wandergorl @jammyness , welcome to Melbourne. if may questions kayo, let me know.

To add from @era222 tips about Job search. Cover letter makes a difference, it's the best way to express your work ethic and passion. You can also put your visa status sa header ng CV sa job hunting nyo, once may AU companies na kayo sa work history, you can remove it na.

And for interviews, I noticed, based on my experience, If australian ang nag interview, more on qualities/behavioral ang flow ng interview, STAR method, and how you will fit into the team, etc. And if ibang lahi, lalo na pag indian, ang highly technical ng mga questions.

Thank you sir @Heprex. Sali kayo sa meet up if you have time :)

Following lang nung original post ko, for all peeps in Melbourne - DM me your whatsapp and I will create a GC for networking and socializing :)

    Sharing our big move experience:

Cebupacific airline namin dahil dun yung pinakamalaking check-in baggage na nakita ko. 64kg each kami with my wife and daughter. Bali 192 kg yun. 8 duffle bags at 2 maleta.

May 3 - Flight to Sydney
At the airport, tinanong kami ng IO kung resident and we said yes (visa 189). Di kami hinanapan ng Pdos at e-travel card. The flight schedule was smooth and on time. Malaki yung plane ng cebupac, yung may middle aisle. Yung ibang passengers nga ay nakahiga pa sakop yung 3 sits during the flight. First time immigrants need to pay travel tax.

May 4~5 - Simcard, bank, tfn, medicare, centrelink, email Bupa
One week before flight nagregister na kame sa Commonwealth Bank, then nagpunta lang kami sa branch to activate the account. I used Wise app tapos si wife ko naman nag bank to bank (Singapore bank to Australia). Nagtry din kami mag withdraw ng cash sa atm dito sa AU using our SG cards. I would say the best rate ay yung sa Wise (not to mention yung speed ng paglipat ng pera) , tapos yung sa bank to bank di naman sobrang laki ng rate difference kaso almost 1 day bago macredit yung pera.

Opal card sa 7-11 kami bumili, pwede na sya for buses and trains. Download the Opal app dahil sobrang useful lalo yung map niya.

    May 6~8 - house hunting
House hunting kami nito, just book as many viewings as you can basta make sure na kaya ng time mo and try to register na rin online kung kelan ang schedule ng open viewing. 15 minutes lang tinatagal ng viewing. Gumawa ako ng list ng mga iinspect ko per day, including the price and number of rooms etc. After the inspection may link on how to apply, just upload as many documents as you can. Bali kung mag-asawa, gawa kayo ng tigisang application using the link na binigay at automatic na mag-link din yung application niyo.

May 9 - House rental application approved
Sabi ko na I just moved in to AU, at nagttransfer palang kami ng pera kasi may daily limit yung transfer. Okay naman daw iupload yung overseas bank statement. Within the day, pinag transfer na kami ng pera para sa deposit para mareserve na yung unit. Bali 1 week rent muna, then 1 month bond na babayaran sa rental bond online (rbo), tapos 1 week rent ulit upon signing ng contract and collection of keys.

May 10 - First day of work
Meron na pala akong employer prior to the grant. Originally mid ng May ang start ng work ko pero sabi ko I can start earlier. Flexible naman sila.

May 11 - House rental signing of contract
It took us less than 10 minutes sa signing. It was quick at nakuha na agad namin yung susi. Bali nagleave muna ako sa work for this.

Slowly, bumibili na kami ng furnitures and appliances and hopefully makumpleto na ang gamit namin soon. Merong Ikea, Fantastic Furnitures, kmart at Amart. Parang centralized yata aircon dito ngayon.

We are very happy and overwhelmed sa bagong journey namin as a family.

It depends, if your employer has a default Super provider, they will create your account for you. If you prefer to put your contributions to a different fund, you'll be the one to open it with that provider.

Kindly consider felix mobile's monthly subscription. 17.50 dollars for the 1st 3 months. 35 dollars on the succeeding months. Unli data na siya with call and text. If wala pa kayo internet connection, i think sulit siya since okay na ang speed niya for the unli data.

Yes because you'll eventually use it when filing your tax return.

I had my jab for influenza. Free naman siya sa mga chemists. https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/Influenza/Pages/default.aspx

With cost talaga pag private clinics, unless you have medicare.

Check with your private insurance, if you can reimburse.

Hi po, new member here and not sure if this is the right place to ask.

We have lodged our EOI for 189 and 190 NSW and wanted to ask what is the situation of rental crisis in Sydney? Sobrang mahal na po ba talaga? IT job po kami ni husband (Soft Eng and Dev Programmer), and mostly na nakikita ko opening is CBD area. Thank you!!

So it depends sa property at location.

Hi @IamTim, good day, congrats on your Big Move.

May Question lang ako as follows:

    1. Ask ko lang if ano yung BUPA 815? Saan kinukuha yun? and also, kapag ba nakarating na sa Australia kinukuha yun?
    2. Saan kayo kumuha ng rental agent?

    Maraming salamat sa pagsagot :)
