    Hello everyone.

Yung napasukan kong work ngayon 60% dun same ng work ko sa Pinas pero yung other 40% eh talagang no first-hand experience pa ko dun.

Tip 3: Recruiters are NOT looking for a perfect candidate

    Additional Tip:

Umaattend ako ng events organized by Engineers Australia.

    Good luck mga kabayan!

Struggle talaga mghanap pero be honest relax lang at sympre make all the necessary preparations. Pati dn pag-attend ng events ng EA even ng local community. Need to do networking talaga malakas ang impact ng referral on most occassions.

Agree sa lakas ng impact ng referral. Nashare nung 1 speaker na umaabot daw thousands narereceive nila na job applications tapos one way daw para ma-trim down yun eh unahin interviewhin yung mga applicants na may nag-vouch inside or outside the company basta same field sila.

Not very recently but in my experience flying with PAL a couple of times, hindi tinitimbang ang personal bags and laptop bag. I've only ever been asked to show it sa check-in counter. Pero I stick lang sa policy nila about how many you can hand-carry.

Note: Never naman ako nag-deliberately over-baggage pero hope that helps hehe.

Kaya un referral nya mejo may weight.

Try to stick within the limits. So far with airlines recently (post covid), it is best to have your check in within limits. For hand carry, if it looks heavy, kikilohin ehehehe.

For pal maluwag naman. For budget airlines, parang may comission sila? Kasi iba drive nila to measure and weigh hehehehehe.

Salamat po! Happy for us, indeed! I actually got laid off the day after I got my visa haha!

Then after a month of job hunting, nakasecure ako ng full time work while here pa sa Pinas. May airbnb na din po ako na pagsstayan for 2 weeks then dun sa 2 weeks na yun, mag aapartment hunting na ako.

Hi @mariusinbrisbane congrats! Just want to ask san ka naghanap ng work? Tips naman on pano ka nakahanap ng work kahit offshore ka pa. Thanks in advance!

Salamat po! Sa LinkedIn ko lang po siya nahanap. Startup IT company sila based mismo sa CBD. Actually hindi sila talaga nagiinterview remotely pero for some reason when they saw my portfolio and resume, they decided to proceed with my application. Nalaman naman nilang PR na ako so mas may assurance sila. Plus, I told them na once I secure a job, magbbook kaagad ako ng flight depending on my start date.

Regarding the tips, I actually consulted an HR based in Brisbane na pinay din na nakilala ko sa LinkedIn. Ang tips niya:

    1. Ilagay sa pinakataas na part ng resume yung work rights/visa mo and indicate na PR ka na kaagad, if PR visa ka.
    2. Sign up your number in Whatsapp and indicate na may Whatsapp na associated sa cellphone number mo. Dun ako mostly tinawagan ng employers. Dun ko nalaman na that method works haha!
    3. Instead of your address in the Philippines, ilagay na kaagad yung city and state sa Australia as your location.
    4. In your cover letter, specify na you're still overseas and you're planning to fly to Australia once you secure a job. Also specify your work rights/visa sa cover letter.

After doing all of these tips, after 2-3 weeks of continuously submitting, nakakuha na ako ng mga calls from employers and dun na ako nagstart with my interviews. Sana po makahelp!

Just to add dun sa tips, I actually got a lot of interviews from good companies. I was even interviewed for ABC Australia haha! As in, when you really take your time and just be patient with things, makukuha mo yung mga quality ones.

Kung hindi naman kayo nagmamadali lumipad kaagad sa Australia, try finding a job while overseas muna. Know your worth and start from there.

Wow what lucky timing - this means you are getting severance pay during this whole time before going to AU right? Ang ganda ng situation haha

Yes po exactly HAHA! I got severance pay + final pay + even the company laptop sa amin na haha!

    Woohooo! Ayan na syaaa~

    Salamat sa tips!

Galingan mo dun, best of luck sa BM! <3

    Hi all,

Granted na po kami sa 189 Visa (me and my husband) last 12 April.

We are planning to stay in Europe for a maximum of 2 years. Lipad po kami this end of May to Europe. For the 1st entry sa Aus, kelangan namin pumasok within a year.

    1. May kelangan pa po ba kami dalin sa airport aside sa letter from Immi? Or may kelangan po ba kmai gawin dun sa Immiaccount?
    2. May kelangan po ba kami na inotify regarding sa pagmove namin to Europe for 2 years? Like change of address and work situations?

    Salamat po! :)

Hello @reinrein2022 .

    • Valid passport (at least 6 mos validity)
    • IMMI grant letter
    • PH departure card
    • Plane ticket and boarding pass

    Additional document na pinakita ko:

    • VEVO visa check details (printed copy)

Hello! Ano po yung PH Departure Card?
