Work and holiday visa

Did anyone else not notice the recent approval of the work-and-holiday visa for filipinos? Or old news na ba ito? Sorry ako lang ba? HAHA Only 200 per year lang daw.

https://pna.gov.ph/articles/1209745

This visa allows people aged 18 to 30 years to have an extended holiday in Australia and work to help fund their trip.

With this visa, the Australian Embassy said you can:

• do short-term work in Australia to help pay for your holiday

• study for up to four months

• travel to and from Australia as many times as you want

One of the requirements is enough funding to support one’s self while in Australia.

The Australian Department of Home Affairs said this could be about 5,000 Australian dollars (about PHP180,900) for the initial stay and additional cash enough to purchase a flight ticket to leave Australia at the end of the stay.

The work and holiday visa itself costs about 635 Australian dollars (around PHP22,974) and will give the holder at least 12 months of stay in Australia.

Tried the NZ silver fern visa back in 2018, 3 mins lang ubos na agad slots. I'm sure sobrang bilis din mauubos ng slots sa Au WHV kasi mababa ang barrier of entry. magloloko pa website nyan dahil sa traffic so people should prepare for the worst

1 yr non-extendable lang to AFAIK, pwede magwork ang holder sa Aus on any field I think. It's something good to have but not really a reliable visa to depend on if people want to migrate to Aus long term, kasi one day a year lang to mag oopen and that's it, next year na uli.

I know there are 2 types...the 462 and the 417 (not sure what the difference is...pero different countries under each type of visa). My partner just got the 462 this year and you can extend that every year up to a 3rd year.

Yun nga eh. Someone asked me regarding that visa kasi. Stand ko kasi, PR or nothing hehe. Based sa understanding ko, for fun siya. If fresh grad ka and you want to enjoy a little, puwede yan. Makaka biyahe ka and try to experience work as well sa ibang bansa. Pero if long term, baka dapat ilagan mo yung visa na yan.

Pang long term din you get lucky. Pwede din PR pathway. Sabi ng friend ko, yung current employer nya dun might extend yung visa nya. 3 months max lang kasi ata per employer pag WHV.

Yung friend ko got a slot in NZ WHV this year. Every year daw sya nagtry, swertehan at pabilisan lang daw talaga ng internet.

Para saan ba yung visa na yan? vacation and experience talaga no? Hindi talaga siya long term? pang good time talaga?

1 yr non-extendable lang to AFAIK, pwede magwork ang holder sa Aus on any field I think. It's something good to have but not really a reliable visa to depend on if people want to migrate to Aus long term, kasi one day a year lang to mag oopen and that's it, next year na uli.

I know there are 2 types...the 462 and the 417 (not sure what the difference is...pero different countries under each type of visa). My partner just got the 462 this year and you can extend that every year up to a 3rd year.

Good on other countries, pero sa pinas 1 yr lang talaga and thats it. Better than nothing of course

Yes, sa NZ nga 100 slots lang per year.

Tried the NZ silver fern visa back in 2018, 3 mins lang ubos na agad slots. I'm sure sobrang bilis din mauubos ng slots sa Au WHV kasi mababa ang barrier of entry. magloloko pa website nyan dahil sa traffic so people should prepare for the worst

I remember this Silverfern visa at binalak ko but that year nag sara siya, so wala na. haha. But as far as I know, job search visa lang to na may mahabang allowed stay sa NZ (9 months) to look for a job. I was not sure if this makes it easier for employers to sponsor you (transition to working visa). Di ko sure kung anong difference sa normal tourist visa if you're also allowed to search for a job with a tourist visa (or baka recently allowed lang to).

Yung sa NZ some got there WHV converted to an actual work visa. Yung iba ginagawang stepping stone siya to get an actual work visa since easier na if you are in the country. Pero not sure kung applicable din ba to sa WHV ni AUS or kung easy ba to convert. I tried getting a slot sa WHV ni NZ but sobrang hirap, cause the website is always crashing lol. So for sure ganon din yung scenario pag nag open na yung WHV for AUS.

I'm not familiar with the terms of the WHV that will be made available to Pinoys, pero yung mga na-meet kong Europeans on this visa were required to complete several months of farm work. Hindi sya yung type ng visa na pagdating dito maghahanap ka ng trabaho na aligned with your real occupation because you have to spend time working in regional areas as part of the visa condition.

if same yan sa NZ silver fern, yes one day a year lang yan, and mag oopen yan on a specific timeslot. Walang pts dyan, basta mafulfill lang age and educ reqts then pabilisan lang as in. May the odds be in your favour ang style hahahha

Sa NZ, unahan lang talaga makatapos. Walang points. Dapat ma-meet mo yung mga requirements. First 100.

WHV, pwede kang mag-aral at mag-work. BACKPACKERS ang tawag sa kanila.

If mag-lodge ka, 5 mins lang, may visa kana. Basta complete requirements ka.

One year validity.

Bago maexpire ang WHV, need mo magwork sa Regional area for 3 months ata if willing ka pa magrenew ng WHV (another 1 year).

And YES, 200 person per year lang yan.

If skilled ka, magPR ka nalang kesa mag-ubos ng oras, pera at lakas bilang WHV.

    Always, THINK LONG TERM.
