I would want to assume this as precedent of the smaller allocations this FY.

Yeah but AU needs skilled workers more. It could impact the work holiday visas or students first. It’s like companies, they cut costs and let go of people, then do massive hiring afterwards.

Hello, has anyone here got a student visa and went to Australia while on going ang application for PR? How does it work po? mag aral at mag part time job muna sa Aussie for a while then if approved na yung PR visa you can leave school and can work for a full time job? any thoughts po.

Hmm I don't have an experience pero if I understand you correctly, mag dodouble application ka? Parang di ata pwede na 2 application mo at the same time, parang red flag yun , but maybe I'm wrong, let's wait for others' response.. If you really want to pursue this path baka mas better unahin mo muna student visa, and when granted at nasa Oz ka na saka ka mag-apply ng PR.. kung marami ka naman pera why not. hehe ang mahal ng total expenses sa SV

Do you mean you've already lodged your 189/190 visa application and you now want to apply for a student visa while waiting for the 189/190 to be granted? Student visa applications require a GTE (genuine temporary entrant) statement which you obviously will not be able to provide if you've already lodged a 189/190 visa application. Case officers can and do check if applicants have a history of AU visa applications so they will pick this up.

@kldo1591 expensive nga po ang SV but kung possible nmn mkapag work dun temporarily while waiting ng invite I thought it could work, hehe ,Yet hindi pala tlga pwedi double application. Anyway, thanks for your response.

Can we lodge PR 2 visas at the same time? Or is it the EOI part that you're saying?

Have you submitted an EOI or lodged a 189/190 visa application? If you've only submitted an EOI then it has no bearing on you student visa application. If you've been invited and lodged a PR visa application then you won't be able to submit a GTE statement.

Having said that, if you're targeting a PR invitation then I think it's better to stay employed wherever you are now if you have a job that's on the skilled occupation list. You will be increasing your years of experience and earning money, both of which will be helpful when you move here permanently. Versus spending a lot of money on a student visa, working part-time on what will likely be a job that has nothing to do with your nominated occupation and will not pay enough to cover your expenses, and having no guarantee that you will ever be invited to apply for PR.

Weight your options well.

@maguero I have only submitted EOI and currently waiting for an invite. And yes I am employed here in PHL. You're right, it is much better to stay here and increase my working experience than spend a lot of money for SV application. It makes more sense. Thank you so much. 😊
