    @LokiJr Thanks!

luckily I was able to borrow some 9niners reviewer from a friend. tapos practice mga 2weeks before the exam date..mostly reading part un. tpos sa listening, ng try ako nung online materials galing sa ielts-blog. sa writing naman, wala na ko kc ko time to do the actual writing practice so binasa ko nalang ung mga sample answers na mkita ko sa net, same goes with speaking....hehehe

tsaka syempre, ngbasa din ako ng tips sa forum, sobrang helpful talaga.

di ko na maalala kung san ko to nabasa pero ang pinakatumatak sa kin na tip is SPEAK AS IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW. pinaka kinakabahan kc ako sa speaking. kaya un, nung actual exam ko na, nagsalita lang ako ng nagsalita, kung anu unang lumabas sa isip ko. mga nakailang ulit din iniistop nung nagpapatest :D

    @gacoquia

ang technicque sa reading is to not read the material... una ka sa question... since yung answers sa question gnawa nmn nla na ascending order.. meaning answer to the first question can be found in the first paragraph... practice skim reading... wag mo basahin lahat.. key words lang tlaga imprtant... ganun gnawa ko.. d ako maxado nagpractice sa reading part kac xa ang pinakamadali.. the answers are right there eh... unlike im listening and writing...

sa listening... be calm during the exam... maririnig mo din ang answer... may advice d2 sa forum na watch and listen to a lot of english shows... kaya araw araw ako naka cnn and bbc... hehehe... ganun kac yung tone ng exam...

sa writing,. i cannot say it enough... learn how to manage your thoughts and time... d2 ako sumabit last time... hope u wont go though it... tapos read ka ng answers to the previews exams... makakakuha ka ng techniques on how to support your ideas.. as much as possible provide details to your ideas... yun ang magpapahaba ng paragraphs mo which will make you reach the desired length of the essay.

cambridge is the answer... yun lang tlaga gnamit ko pag review.. i hope this helps.. :)

For IELTS writing try this format that i created. It doesnt matter what yout stand is, importantly is paano mo sya naexplain:

    Writing Outline Guide (Part 2)

    Introduction
    1. Generally_________________

    2. It is commonly seen, ________________.

    3. It is agreed that__________________.

    4. This essay will prove that ___________________.

    First Supporting Paragraph
    5. For one, __________________. (Making a claim)

    Alternatives: Firstly

    6. For example, __________________. (Show point in action)

    Alternatives: For instance

    7. This makes it clear __________________. (Show how example proves your point)

    Alternatives: Because of this example

    8. As this shows, __________________. (Link paragraph back to thesis)

    Second Supporting Paragraph
    9. In addition to this __________________.

    Alternatives: Secondly

    10. For Instance __________________. (Show another point in action)

    11.Thus __________________. (Support sentence number 10)

    12. It is obvious from this that __________________. (Link paragraph back to thesis)

    Conclusion
    13. In conclusion __________________. (Restatement of thesis)

    14. It has been proven that __________________. (Stating that thesis was proven)

    15. Thus, it is recommended __________________.

Try to put one idiom if possible. LIke, bend over backwards, blessing in disguise, barking on the wrong tree, etc.

    Goodluck

    Eto yung actual sample nyan

    Sample Essay – Part 2
“Living with animals, such as owning a pet dog, cat or bird, is good for people. Do you agree or disagree? Use personal examples to illustrate your response.”

    Introduction
    1. Human beings have shared the world with animals since the dawn of time
    2. Throughout history, animals have provided humanity not only with sustenance and work, but also companionship.
    3. It is agreed that living with animals is beneficial for people.
    4. This argument will be proven by looking at how sharing a home with an animal can both encourage feelings of empathy and teach responsibly

    First Supporting Paragraph
    5. For one, common dwelling between animal and human can help people understand the feelings and needs of others.
    6. For example, when I was young I was required to take care of our family’s two dogs.
    7. Caring for these dogs demanded I be conscious of their needs and I believe this was a very key lesson in my development as an empathetic person.
    8. As my examples shows, living with animals has a positive effect on people.

    Second Supporting Paragraph
    9. In addition to this, people who share homes with animals are taught how to become responsible individuals.
    10. Returning to the prior example from my youth, as a boy I had to follow a rigorous schedule to ensure my dogs were fed on time, given attention and taken outside a few times a day.
    11. This daily practice in being responsible for another living thing had a very strong impact on my sense of duty.
    12. As a result such as this is common among all who own pets, the benefits animals bring to people are clear.

    Conclusion
13.-14. Following this look at how living with animals increases a person’s sense of empathy and understanding of responsibility, it has been proven that sharing a home with other living things has more pros than cons.
    15. Thus, owning a pet is highly recommended.

    @gacoquia

ang technicque sa reading is to not read the material... una ka sa question... since yung answers sa question gnawa nmn nla na ascending order.. meaning answer to the first question can be found in the first paragraph... practice skim reading... wag mo basahin lahat.. key words lang tlaga imprtant... ganun gnawa ko.. d ako maxado nagpractice sa reading part kac xa ang pinakamadali.. the answers are right there eh... unlike im listening and writing...

sa listening... be calm during the exam... maririnig mo din ang answer... may advice d2 sa forum na watch and listen to a lot of english shows... kaya araw araw ako naka cnn and bbc... hehehe... ganun kac yung tone ng exam...

sa writing,. i cannot say it enough... learn how to manage your thoughts and time... d2 ako sumabit last time... hope u wont go though it... tapos read ka ng answers to the previews exams... makakakuha ka ng techniques on how to support your ideas.. as much as possible provide details to your ideas... yun ang magpapahaba ng paragraphs mo which will make you reach the desired length of the essay.

cambridge is the answer... yun lang tlaga gnamit ko pag review.. i hope this helps.. :)
I read here somewhere na nagbigay nang headset during listening exam? ayos kung ganun! Kc dito sa Bangkok wala... madali lang yung section 1 and 2... nagpanic ako sa section 3 kaya nawala na concentration ko hanggang sec 4. Parang gusto ko parewind bwahahaha. Masyado ako naging kampante akala ko madali lang pero tricky rin sya. Kaya focus talga...

swak yung tips ni @cchamyl sa Reading. Talasan ang mata kc ang mga sagot nandun lang din sa mga paragraphs ;)

    15. Thus, owning a pet is highly recommended.
hahaha... i used this same format... i got tips from ielts-simon.com... super like ko yung pag organized ng structure.. at the start of the writing exam... ang pinaka-unang gnawa ko is to read the topics then organized my ideas through this structure... spend 5 mins at the most for this part... tapos... i answered the essay part first... because it gives you more points... napansin ko na mas tumataas ang essay mo if you expound on one detail more... details details details... as much as you can... d mo mapapansin na umabot ka na sa required length... matapos ko yung essay tsaka ko gnawa yung task 1... tapos agad... i had more time to spare pa to review what i had written (grammar, spelling, etc) and count the words... super nagwork saken ang structure na to...

@gacoquia oo nga e, kaya sobra concentrated ako sa Reading.. perhaps i keep doing the same mistakes... hayst...

@aolee pahingi naman ng reviewer mo po, need help badly po [email protected]

    Salamat po ng marami
hello.. i see that you took the exams four times na... how about changing your review habit... i believe there must be something wrong with it since it's not working for you... :)

i see that you got the lowest scores in the reading module... wag ka maxado mag focus sa reading since the answers are right there... in text pa... :) baka kac ma-neglect mo yung ibang parts ng exam... you won't have enough time to read through all the paragraphs... technique lang yan... basahin mo yung questions first... like what i said, ascending yung questions... yung answer sa first question ay makikita mo sa first paragraph and so on... pag ganito gnawa mo...you will have enough time left to review your answers...

next is yung writing... please see my previous comments about creating a structure first...

last is yung listening... mukhang nakuha mo na yung technique... wag ka padala sa emotions.. lalo na pag d mo nkuha yung answer... pakinggan mo lang yung story... later on magiging madali sayo ang i-remember kung ano yung possible answer... :)

i hope this helps... i know your pain.. taking the exam isn't cheap... kaya mo yan... konting tyaga na lang... :)

I had a funny and nerve-wracking experience in taking up IELTS specially the writing part. As I was in the midst of answering number #2 question, I realized that I am writing in the blank paper, not on the test material itself. A facilitator approached me and asked me to transfer my answer on the answer sheet with only 15 minutes left and I still have #2 question to finish. I felt an indescribable adrenaline rush from that moment, I transferred the answer as fast as I can that I can't even decipher what I am writing and my mind was too stressed to even think of a logical justification in my number #2 question. Even I can hear "5mins left" "2mins left" I didn't give up. I closed my paragraph just in the neck of time but at the back of my mind I know I could have done better. Exam was over and I was really upset. I planned to take up and sched IELTS for the second time but I'm still giving it a benefit of the doubt. I've chosen the agony of waiting instead despite announcing to the world that I screwed up.

Lesson learned: Write in the correct paper (lol..so basic I know. :P )
Don't waste your time counting the words. ( Coz I did. :P)
Don't lose composure despite the time constraints.
Organize your thoughts as what they mentioned above in the template.

And oh I got 7.5. Not bad afterall. :)

hi share ko lang preparation ko sa IELTS two years ago.

pag sa British Council ka nag-register for IELTS exam, may free access ka sa library nila. nung time na yun may work ako so every Saturday lang ako pumupunta (closed pag Sunday). Mga 10am-4pm ako dun, kumakain na ko ng heavy lunch. pwede din naman mag-merienda break kasi may mga fastfood sa kalapit na building.

I try to answer as much Listening at Reading mock exams sa books doon.
take note of your mistakes, and try to find out how you can score better.

May mga books din na Common Mistakes, maganda syang reference.

Try to take down notes na galing sa books especially about speaking and writing kasi yun yung mahirap i-self review kasi walang answer key, unless may review school ka kung saan may magchecheck ng answers mo.

Pwede pala magpaxerox ng book, but only 10% of the content (ex. 100 pages ang book, bibigyan ka nila ng 10 papers)

everyday, try to write topic cards (for speaking) ex. about your dream house. sulat ka ng phrases/adjectives para madami kang ideas pagdating ng mismong exam.
para sa writing, nagpapractice ako sumagot ng task 2 mostly at oorasan ko.
for task 1, may book sa British Council (forgot which one), na may technique on how to answer pie chart, bar chart, a process diagram, etc. or sa internet try nyo mag-search.

for speaking, nagpractice ako with a friend (tamang-tama magtetake din sya ng IELTS)

ang importante naman ay mapractice nyo yung Listening, Reading, Speaking at Writing within the alloted time na allowed sa IELTS. kasi it's the pressure of time na kalaban sa IELTS.

Goodluck IELTS takers! God bless sa review.
