Not that I’m aware of but won’t be surprised if it still is, especially sa mga walang contracts or unclear agreement. My friends had decent pay, with relocation allowance and subsidised housing on top of their sponsorship. Pero malalayo talaga.

Hello Kabayan! Magtanong po sana ako naka received po ako ng invitation for 189. We are currently on COVID visa(408) with my wife, onshore at kakapanganak lang niya kay baby, Do I have to apply my baby for COVID visa initially? O deretso 189 visa na? May I know also the requirements for my baby. Thank you in advance!

The baby needs to have a visa to be in Australia. If the baby is currently in Australia and derechong 189 visa application sya, he won't have a visa until the 189 is granted. Magiging illegal resident sya. So you need to add him to your 408 visa for him to stay in the country.

Thank you so much @Ozdrims does it mean that I need to wait for my baby to be granted with 408 visa prior applying for 189? Since that we are only given 60 days to apply for it. Thank you!

You can add the baby too with 189 ,consider it as an interim as he has to have a visa for the baby to stay in AU legally. You need to inform AU asap.

    Is your visa finalised?
If yes you need to send the info to DoHA by post.

    Excerpt from DoHA:
    By post
If your visa application in ImmiAccount is finalised or you did not apply for your visa via ImmiAccount, post these documents to your nearest Departmental office.
Form 1022 - Notification of changes in circumstances
a certified copy of your baby's Australian birth certificate (issued by the relevant births, deaths and marriages authority in your state/territory)
a certified copy of your baby's passport pages (showing photo, personal details, and passport issue and expiry dates)
We recommend you send them by express or registered post so you can track their delivery.

If you have an access to Philippine Embassy website , you can book an appointment for passport biometrics and passport data page encoding , you will need to have a birth certificate /ROB (registration of birth) if you have not done so and your marriage certificates with you and along a fee for passport processing, you will need to check out in their website and the steps in detail how to obtain an ROB.

Thank you for the response @Ozdrims worst case scenario, would it be possible that my spouse and I will go ahead with our 189 visa? Then add my baby once we completed the requirements? Or is it possible to accomplish everything in 60 days?

I suggest you give DHA a call and ask if you can submit the 408 application without a passport. Some people are able to apply visas for newborns with just the AU birth certificate since matagal ang passports and the child can't be here without a visa. When you send your docs to DHA, send via express post para mabilis.

DHA will also add your baby to your lodged 189 application after you've submitted the baby's requirements to them. So no need to wait for the baby's passport before lodging your application.

WA FY Allocation = 2350 places

WA has issued 4188 preinvites so far this FY.

Last year WA issued 3X the number of preinvites vs. number of actual allocation used (multiple invites per person, 6M contract missing etc.). So a 33% utilisation ratio.

We can assume a higher, closer to 40% utilisation this FY as applicants are more cautious and conservative.

So WA has consumed 0.4 X 4188 ~= 1675 allocation used so far.

    Remaining = 2350 - 1650 = 500

→ WA will likely do one more small round this FY (between 300 to 500 places)

Likely in Jan/Feb/Mar, and then it will go silent till June 2024, in terms of preinvites (unless state allocation is replenshied by DHA).

    Good luck to all

    Tasmania's updated Critical Roles List

Migration Tasmania has updated their Critical Roles List in response to the latest advice from Jobs and Skills Australia regarding Tasmania’s skilled workforce needs.

A skills assessment and directly-related skilled employment of at least three months in one of these areas gives eligible applicants the highest priority for invitation to apply for nomination.

ROIs that have already been submitted and include employment directly related to a skills assessment for an occupation that has been added to the list will be ‘re-scored’ and invited to apply for nomination.

New ROIs that include employment directly related to a skills assessment for an occupation that has been removed from the list will not be automatically invited to apply but will still be high priority for nomination.

NSW has no ROI in their process ,need lang ng EOI.
After EOI you just need to wait for invitation .

Half-Year Review of Australia's 2023-24 Migration Program – Key Takeaways

Based on our analysis of the recent developments and shifts in Australia's immigration policy, with a particular focus on the invitations issued so far this year, it's important to highlight certain trends and observations, specially those observed in high-demand states such as Victoria and NSW. Here's our review synopsis:

    1. EOI POINTS – SPECIFIC CRITERIA PREFERENCES

It appears that the significance of an EOI lies not only in the total points achieved but also in the distribution of those points. A candidate boasting 85 points overall, including 10 points for experience, could potentially hold a competitive edge over another candidate scoring 90 points but with only 5 points for experience. While proficiency in English and work experience may carry more weight than NAATI, it remains advantageous to optimise the overall score.

    1. SHIFTING FOCUS OF PRIORITIES

The likelihood of receiving an invitation for non-priority occupations appears to be low. Even within priority occupations, certain fields hold greater favor. For instance, the Healthcare sector stands out as a significant focal point for 189 invites, whereas individual states prioritise specific occupations, often giving preference to Healthcare and Education over fields like Social Services, ICT, Engineering and others when issuing 190/491 visas.

    1. OCCUPATION'S SIGNIFICANCE WITHIN TARGET SECTORS

There is an indication that specific occupations within a given industry sector might be prioritised over others. For example, a Healthcare Manager scoring 90 points could be passed over in favor of a Registered Nurse with 65 points. Likewise, a Web Developer having 100 points might be surpassed by a ICT Cybersecurity professional with 80 points.

    1. OFFSHORE VS ONSHORE APPLICANTS

Australia is extending more invites to individuals applying from overseas, defying the common perception that being present in the country enhances one's chances of securing skilled migration invites. Contrary to expectations, residing in Australia doesn't guarantee a smoother process. Individuals in the country often face the challenge of securing a job that supports their visa application. Failure to find such employment may lead to the necessity of departure. This dynamic creates a difficult scenario where the ability to stay is contingent on securing sponsorship through employment. Australia's primary focus is on attracting highly skilled individuals, particularly in sectors facing labour shortages like Healthcare and Education, regardless of their current location. Therefore, prospective applicants should prioritise possessing the skills and expertise demanded by Australia, regardless of their geographical location.

    1. COMPARING TO PREVIOUS YEAR IS MISLEADING

Comparing statistics before 2023 can lead to confusion, particularly in relation to pre-COVID times when securing a 189/190 visa was comparatively more straightforward. The immigration process experienced a significant slowdown during the pandemic, but in 2022-23, Australia extended invitations to a diverse pool of applicants with moderate points across various occupations. It's important to note that this trend is not expected to persist, rendering comparisons with previous years obsolete.

Staying well-informed and adjusting to the evolving trends is imperative. It's important to note that these insights are merely observations and should be approached with a discerning perspective.
