@bluejinx - Just get the NBI clearance, IDP did not require it during the lodging process but they said that it might/will be needed on your departure. So, Just Get It. LOL

@skittles - lodge it as soon as you can. you'll never know. February is the intake of choice for many. It could be that on those time student VISAs are given priority or it could be that the COs are just in the mood because they are going to get their bonuses or with the number of student visas scheduled for that intake date, DIAC might have a backlog. I have heard of cases where schools had the students lodge on January so they could catch up with the Feb classes. They ended up deferring to the July intake instead.

anyway. I emailed DIAC and heres what they have to say

Dear Mr. KG2
Please note that the medical results of your wife have been referred to the
Health Operation Centre in Australia for review by a Medical officer of the
Commonwealth, last 03 May 2013. Due to current backlogs with the Health
Operations Centre deferred medicals are taking approximately 8 weeks (from
date of referral) for a decision to be made.

Please note that immigration health criteria is a public interest criteria
that applies to this visa application and so this is the reason why this
visa application cannot be finalised until an immigration health assessment
outcome has been received by this office.

ayan...so waiting2 up to July 3, Class commences July 15. Need to be there at least 2 weeks before. As the famous George Takei would say... "OH MYYYYYY."

@KG2 i have my NBI clearance but my husband has a "HIT". so it would take weeks before he can get the clearance.:( July din intake ko.:( i was wondering if we can still lodge even without that.yan na lang talaga ang kulang namin...thanks...

@jinx333 - yes you can lodge your visa even when you don't have your NBI clearance. My NBI clearance was not taken by my education counselor/IDP Cebu when I submitted it. Like I said it might be needed only upon your departure.

@franz25 wala pa. After kasi nung tinext ako ng embassy and they emailed me.. Tumawag din counselor ko from idp na nasa kanila na papers ko and maghanap nadaw ako ng flight na gusto ko. Kulitin mo lang siguro sila, sana magrant kana at yung family mo. :-) pray lang ng pray.

@bluejinx333 ako. 573 din. Wala akong nbi clearance nung naglodge ako. Yung nbi clearance, MINSAN hinahanap upon departure. Just be ready lang. Advise din po sakin yun ng counselor ko. Mas okay na ang handa. Ingat po.

@bbgirl try calling idp para makakuha ka kaagad response instead of emailing them.. Me kakailala ka na ba nagschool before with uni of ballarat..? Bka din kasi sa dami nagenroll kaya dami sila ginagawa.. Dont worry I'm sure they're working on it.

Parang bumilis ang timeline ngayon ah, yung iba 3 weeks lang. d(^.^)b ako mag lodge palang ako student visa next week kasi kakabayad ko pa lang tuition. Hopefully makahabol pa ako ng July. Pray pray lang tayo

Cgro bka igagrant nmn nila by next week kac naextend sked ko from may 6 to june 11 dahil nga sa delay nila.kainis na at ngayon nmn papalapit nmn sked at ieeksakto lng nmn cgro date igrant hapit sa skedule kainis na.

Magisa lng ako pupunta at single ako. Sa last na email nila ang sabi for finalization nlng ng visa grant notice.

@bluejinx333 try to check if pwede kayo dun sa ofw lane.. Kasi the last time kumuha ako sa nbi main sa taft, alam ko na if you already have a ticket pwd yata parang express.. Try to call them about that. May isang booth sa 3rd floor ata, para lng sa ofw.

@jacy go to the australian embassy website.. Tas iclick mo yung link na ireredirect ka sa Philippines. Tas meron sila dun na page for enquiries. Ifill-out mo lang lahat. Yung reply ng email ko before after 2 days ko na natanggap. Pero mas okay kesa tawag kasi ang tagal ng mga tawag ko, naka onhold naman ako for like 20-30 minutes.. Walang sumasagot at maeend nalang yung call.

@chanel07 thanks! we already applied for the clearance kaya lang may hit mister ko. it's being processed.maybe it will come out next week.buti na lang i asked this question to u guys if hindi, hindi pa ako makapaglodge next week kasi akala ko hindi pwede makapaglodge kung walang nbi..

@bluejinx333 when magstart ang classes nyo? Under ba sa streamlined yung school po? Kasi baka matulad kayo sakin nung last semester na it took a while para iprocess lahat kaya ngayong T2 nalang ako nagenroll. If under streamlined, it would take about 14 working days since naacknowledge ng embassy.. Tas sana okay yung medicals para makaabot pa. :-) ilodge mo na agad.. If thru idp, naglolodge ata sila only on tuesdays and fridays kaya if u want na mabilis ang pagprocess ng papers nyo po.

@chanel07 we will lodge next week.may agent kami na kinuha so nandoon na papers namin sa kanila..july 15 yata ang start ng classes but may orientation sa july 8.buti na lang under streamlined visa processing ang school.sana makaabot talaga..

I've been waiting for 25days na since I lodged receipt my Student Visa 573 and til now wla pang result. My medicals have already been finalised. Omg bakit po kaya ganito nakastreamlined daw 14days standard. I emailed my CO-J Amistad last week almost every otherday pero buong week no reply pati yung sa system generated auto reply wla din confirmation.me cut off date po or capping for studentvisa? My class is due 11june and namove kon nga yun last 6may dapat. LORD pls grant napo..

@bluejinx333 ganyan din nangyari sa mister ko. May hit. Nadelay tuloy kmi ng 1 wk sa pglodge. Kasi ayaw ifinalized ng agent ko papers na ipapasa sa embassy ng wla nbi si hubby. Khit na sabi ko to follow na lang sya. Mas maganda dw yung complete para wla reason for delay. Ginawa namin, nghanap tlga ng kakilala sa nbi to expedite process. Ending may kaso pa ung kapangalan ni hubby kaya pinagawan muna sya ng affidavit. Tpos ok na. Kaya minsan maganda din na unique ang name. Hehe.
