Mate @Khaosan_Road - I am sure ma mimiss mo iyang Bangkok; ako nga taga Singapore before na miss ko ang Singapore ikaw pa kaya na di hamak mas maganda ang Bangkok versus Singapore in many aspects I can personally think of... :)

May mga Thai food dito (which is my favourite by the way) - pero mapapaisip ka na bumili as it would cost around $10, much expensive than the prices we were used to.

And yeah, if I may suggest to you - if you have not done exploring South East Asia, do so while you are still based in BKK. Siem Reap is nice, Saigon/Hanoi and the middle part of Vietnam are all nice (with good food...) - if you want to rough it out, you can try Laos and yes if you want off the beaten path, merong Myanmar...

I miss Singapore, the food, the convenience of the place, the weekend trip but it was time to move on and start something a new... I am very sure you will feel the same way as well! :)

Make the most out of the remaining days mate!!
I know! ngaun pa lang kapag naiisip ko na I'm leaving Bangkok soon nalulungkot ako. What I like most about staying here, generally, you'll meet many interesting characters. The amazing diversity of individuals is what makes this city appealing.
    * Khoasan Road - I always hangout with mates in this infamous place. Backpacker area sya and you will defo meet (young) travelers there. I feel like I am also on holidays everytime I go there. Walang Khaosan Road sa AU. :(
    * Fellow expats - I have loads of expat friends here (drinking mates, volleyball mates, fitness mates, IT mates). Super active social life ko dito. Not sure kung magagawa ko to sa AU.
    * Locals - majority of Thais are friendly and polite. And often when you smile at them, you will recieve a pleasant smile back. Kaya nga "The Land of Smiles" to eh. I doubt Aussies are like that... :(
    * Food - I love street foods! wala sa AU nito waaaaaaaaaaahhhhh :(
    * Clubs/bars - affordable yung mga fancy/posh clubs here in Bangkok. Every week may mga events and international DJ's playing. For sure expensive to sa AU. :(
    * Easy to travel - since BKK is one of the hubs of South East Asia. Very easy and convenient to travel around. I've been to many SEA countries. I often visit remote areas whenever I visit a new place. I think I can do this in AU. I prolly do more road trips there.
    * Koh Phangan - I am a Full Moon Party addict! I've been there XX times. I was just there last month and I am thinking of going there again over the weekend this month. I've spent 3 NYE (New Year's Eve) there with my mates and it was always mental! I feel gutted to miss this year. :(
    * and the list goes on and on an on...

    All the best @dancingmama...

Do you drive? My suggestion to you is to try getting a license there sa Singapore (if you drove previously in the Philippines) - that way, it will just be as easy as converting your license in VicRoad...

    Cheers!! :)

Ayus, one less thing to worry yung license mo... Most of us, sooner or later, bibili din talaga ng auto.

Pero assuming you have all 3, you are in a better position I should say. Of course, dapat din na may maghire sa iyo to begin with.

Mahigpit kasi competition dito eh - dapat ka talaga magpapansin or mapansin... :)

    hard rule ba yung 40kg?
Pwede mo gawin 80kg kung gusto mo BUT you need to pay the excess baggage fee - and mahal sya, international flight will cost you not less than $25 PER KILO... :)

10 kilos excess mo will be at least $250... :)

OT na pero tanong ko lang rin .. more than 3 yrs na kc expired ung driver's license ko.
Unfortunately, oo... kailangan mo ulit magexam, practical text!!

Same happened to me, 3 yrs din as I was out and away sa country. Up to 2 yrs lang ang pwede na expired license that can be renewed automatically. Anything longer than this, ma dormant na ang license mo...

Naku sis, wag na, masyadong mahal! It's possibly $200-300, depende pa kung ano airline. Minimum amount yun. Bring the money, leave the stuff. :)

Yung taga-airline bibigyan kayo option magbawas or magbayad.

PR Visa Label is done by the Australian Embassy - after they implemented the electronic visa, di na necessary ang visa label - pero kung gusto mo, pwede ka magbayad ng $70. Back in November last year, di na rin sila nagbibigay ng visa label but I asked the embassy in Singapore kung pwede mabigyan kami ni misis, ang excuse ko was I would be travelling around prior to making a move to Australia. Pumayag naman sila at I was not charged anything. Around December ata sila nag-release ng memo na if you really want the visa label, pwede mabigyan as long as magbayad ng fee...

CFO Seminar will have a different label naman, ito ay binibigay once you have completed that rubbish seminar... :P The label looks like the image in the below link:

3 days lang ako jan sa Bangkok for work travel and mukhang interesting nga. Pero one thing jan is pag medyo alam nila na baguhan ka eh tatagain ka sa presyo from tuktuk cab to night bazaar. Dapat kalahati agad ang tawad mo. And yes people are generally nice para syang pinas. May special show daw jan, and hopefully makapanuod minsan haha
