Hello mga kabayan,
Kamusta na kayo dyan sa aussie. I just wanna ask kung ok ba ang healthcare jobs dyan like caregivers. Madami ba opportunities sa caregivers dyan once I get there. Pano ba systema ng caregiver dito is it more on 1 on 1 patient like live in? Share naman kayo ng infos ifpossible. Thanks guys. Gb everyone.

    Caregiving is mostly an aged care or rest home work. It pays minimum wage, rostered shift and usually if ur australian pwdi for drop outs meaning no degree necessary or as part time work for uni students.

    1caregiver sa rest home can have 6-8 oldies to wash or bath, feed and care for.

    1is to1 sa i.c.u lng yan for nurses. Kahit ward nurse 1:5 pts nga eh.

    Pero ewan kung bakit if foreigner nag-aaply they have to take a certificate course to get this job.

    I dont see a demand for this in our hospital ( im a nurse here in i.cu.) We dont have caregivers. We have tech aide yung taga restock ng gamit, taga bigay ng meals and help with bedmaking ( mostly south americans and some pinays do it.. No degree necessary. )

    Live in care is more like babysitting.. Lower than minimum wage coz u are living for free.

    Respite care for those who are disabled.. Hindi yan live in. The govt only pay 4 hrs per week for disabled people on respite. Requirement is u need to have full drivers license and ur own car to do respite care and a certificate in caregiving.

    I dont see a demand for that either. Community nurses usually do that anyway.

    Hope that helps;)

    Thanks ms. Ren for the infos, im a nurse also and planning to apply there. Hubby is the caregiver. Guess hindi sya ganun ka demand like in america. If you say certificate for caregiving usually how many months will it take. How about us nurses well compensated ba? Thanks :)

    @mrluis yup nursing is good in au. Not as stressful compared sa us. I have colleagues na american. Nagtatagal sila dito kasi mas less work daw.

    @mrluis -
    - check nyo rin po mga employment opportunities sa www.seek.com.au
    - im not sure kung i-accept nila ung qualifications nyo diploma/cert for aged care from outside AU.. pero meron silang tinatawag na RPL- recoginition of Prior Learning
    - if you want to take the full course, i think it's a 6-month course,, you can check/google TAFE courses Cert3 in Aged Care
    - kung PR visa holder kyo, cost is approx 500-1000aud, pero kung hindi you will be considered as international student average cost 6000aud..
