@icebreaker1928 weird nga eh. Possible na magkaiba kami ng syllabus. As per school category, alam ko may different sections yun. Di ko sure kung magkaiba nga kami. Pero bago kasi ang rules ng ACS. Baka nga affected din ang course vs school vs total computing units taken vs skill (?)

so malamang naapektuhan na sya ng bagong rules... yun na lang maisip ko kaya naging ganon result nya.

@icebreaker yes ACS p lang sya. Nagpa-assess sya last March. 4months bago nya nakuha result. Pati processing time nga nagbago na din. Sa amin nun 1month lang may result na agad. Kaso ang labo ng bagong rule eh

@jengrata makikita ba yung sa assessment results kung meron binawas? nacredit nman yung 8yrs work experience ko. Wla nman nkalagay na may certain period na kino-consider lng.
Apr 4 ko nareceive yung ACS results ko bka di pa effective at that time.
Ayun ba bagong assessment rule ng ACS or ng DIAC?

@solidjeff meron bang ganito sa assessment mo:

“The following employment after December 2010 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 261311 (Analyst Programmer) of the ANZSCO Code.”

So kahit pa inassess ung 2003 mo onwards. Ang puede mo lang iclaim ay ung work mo after December 2010. Kung inabot ka ng changes more or less may ganyan. Bagong rule ng ACS yan.

yes, malabo talaga bagong rule nila... pero I think this move is to protect the locals here...
Kakabasa ko lang sa news kanina, yung mga fresh grad dito hirap makahanap ng work at magwowork na lang daw sila overseas pag hindi sila nagkawork dito....

so napaka drastic ng changes na ginagawa nila to protect their citizens.

@jengrata wla pong ganyan na statement dun sa assessment ko so i guess, nacredit yung 8yrs work exp ko.

@olrac183 wla dpat mging epekto yung new rule ng ACS sa mga naassessed na before pro ngaun pa lng mglodge ng EOI.

Determination of ICT Content in Tertiary Qualifications
For a qualification to be regarded as assessable for its ICT content, the predominant objective of the course should be to educate persons to be professionals in ICT.

As a guide, a major in a Bachelor degree must have a minimum of 33% ICT content. Such ICT content must progress through all years of the program with at least one third of it being at a demonstrably advanced final year level.

The same criteria in relation to ICT content and progression as described for a Bachelor degree, applies to programs which are postgraduate in time but substantially undergraduate in content.

As a guide, to meet the criteria, a Graduate Diploma or Masters degree which is undergraduate in content and taken usually after a qualification other than an ICT degree or equivalent, must:
 Contain a minimum of 3 semesters or at least 1.5 years of full-time study
 Contain at least 2 semesters or 1 year of full-time equivalent ICT content
 Contain a minimum of 12 units, subjects, or modules (overseas degrees may contain less units,
subjects or modules)
Where study is completed at a rate less than full-time, then scaling to the equivalent of full-time is applied.

As a guide, a major in ICT for a Post Graduate Diploma or higher degree qualification which requires as a pre-requisite an undergraduate degree-level qualification in ICT or equivalent must have an ICT content of at least one third, all of which must be at post graduate level.

As a guide for an AQF Diploma, an AQF Advanced Diploma or overseas equivalent, the ICT content must be at least 50%.

As a guide for a minor (sub-major) for a Bachelor degree the ICT content must be at least 20%.

As a guide for a Graduate Diploma or higher degree qualification, a minor (sub-major) must relate to a program with an ICT content of at least 50%.

@jengrata thanks for sharing pro wla nman ako nkikita kung pano yung computation ng yrs of work exp or meron deduction na ginagawa ang ACS. Ang pgkakaintindi ko dun sa column ng required work experience is minimum requirement work exp per qualification ng education.

@solidjeff yes tama ka minimum requirement nga sya. And after the minimum ang start ng counting ng skill emplyment date, please see statement below:

Skilled Employment Date
The date specified for skilled employment for a Bachelor or above, not relevant to the ANZSCO, is UPON completion of 4 years experience. For a relevant degree, it is either 2 years in the past 10 years or 4 years in any time period, whichever is earlier.

For qualifications below a Bachelor, 5 years in the past 10 years and 6 years in any time period.

If the date specified for skilled employment is earlier than the completion of the qualification; the date will be noted as the completion date of the qualification. In this case, the date specified for skilled employment cannot be earlier than the completion date of the qualification.
If the applicant has multiple qualifications, the date will be based on whichever result is the earliest date.

ang instruction kay ACS, dapat yung isang document na maraming pages consolidated to 1 pdf file.. example your Transcript of Records has 5 pages, scan the notarized or CTC copy into 1 pdf file.. so yung pdf file mo ng TOR consists of 5 pages..

this applies to all documents with multiple pages..

Company 4: may 2006 - may 2007
- 0 years 0 mos (lack of evidence)

Company 6: sep 2008 - oct 2011
- 3 years 1 month
Company 7: nov 2011 - feb 2013
- 1 year 3 months

So dapat 8years and 1mo di ba?

- BUT -

Because he was assessed as bachelor degree ICT minor and NOT closely related, need nya ng 6years or 72 months minimum experience. After nun saka magcount ng puedeng iclaim. (This is based from the new rule of ACS)

So kung 72 months, eto ung considered na minimum experience nya
Company 1: feb 2001 - nov 2003 - 33mo
Company 2: jan 2004 - aug 2004 - 0
Company 3: dec 2004 - may 2006 - 0
Company 4: may 2006 - may 2007 - 0
Company 5: sep 2007 - sep 2008 - 12mo
Company 6: sep 2008 - oct 2011 - ito pro-rated
So: Sep 2008 - december 2010 - 27mo

Thus, after December 2010 pa start ng count ng skilled employment nya tlga.

This explains the statement:

So ang puede lang nya iclaim:
Company 6: (pro-rated) jan 2011- oct 2011 - 10mos

Ayan po yung mas detailed na explanation, para na rin makatulong sa mga maaapektuhan ng changes.

@jengrata prang sobrang laki nman ng changes ng ACS. Kung ma-attain mo nman yung 15pts mo sa work exp, sigurado mgsuffer nman yung pts mo sa age. Dun sa educ, bachelor degree with minor in computing, ilang pts pwd i-claim nito? Wla ba difference sa bachelor degree with major in computing ang pts?

@solidjeff i think attainable ung 15pts sa bachelor degree ICT major and closely related (not sure kung anong course pasok dito) na may 10 or more years of experience. Kasi 2years lang ang minimum experience so may 8 years ka pang matitira. 15pts pa rin yun. So kung 10years experience, Apr 2003 pa lang nagwork ka na. Ang gumagraduate ng 2003 ay nasa 20-22yrs old by that time. After 10yrs nasa 30 - 32 ka na. Pasok ka pa sa 30pts.

Ang magsuffer tlga sa bagong rules ng ACS is ung maa-assess ng bachelor ICT minor at diploma. Kasi min of 5years na agad mawawala sayo. And tama ka, magsuffer yung age nila kung magantay pa sila ng additional experience para lng makakuha ng points. Ganun din, dagdag-bawas lang mangyayari.

Sa education, based sa point test as of 2011 (ewan ko kung nagbago) basta bachelor degree ka regardless kung major or minor may 15pts ka pa din
