Hello!
Plan ko na ako muna mauna for a month sa Aus tapos sunod na lang family ko. Wala ako kakilala sa Oz tapos may 5 year old kid ako. Pwede bang share nyo yung ginawa nyo?

Hello, share ko experience namin. We moved from nz to au after almost 4 yrs in nz for me but only mga a year and a half for hubby and my daughter.

When i moved to nz, we didnt know anybody. I had no job waiting for me. Hence, the decision that ma una ako and settle things before they went to nz was actually a good one. When they came, we had a car na, i had a job, had residency sorted and school was booked for her.

Now when we moved to oz together, i still had a job na. Had an apartment and things sorted care of my ate here. Pero nag ka problem kami with daycare 6months to 1year waiting list. Inuwi namin yung 4 yr old sa pinas kasi i worked full time, my hubby went to school in melbourne full time din and my ate can only accommodate her on weekends.

I know mahirap iwanan ang family pero what is 3-6 months max in the grand scheme of things?

Get a job, sort out a house, paperworks, schools. Get a car if needed before you get the whole family.

So when they get here you will be able to show them around.. By then you will have friends the kids can play with.. Your partner may instant friends na din who can help find. Jobs or show them around.

Honestly, believe ako sa mga pumunta here with no jobs waiting and walang kilala. I mean ok lng mag struggle tayo as adults but i dont think it is fair for the kids to experience that kasi while job hunting for sure may mga frustrating moments specially when the baon is going down and the expenses/ rejection letters piling up. Mahirap makitira and there will be issues kahit maliit lng that on some days will feel really sad.

My daughter nakuha namin from pinas after 3-4 months when nag ka vacant ang daycare. She is 4 but very understanding naman and my family back home made an extra effort for her like taking her to disney, school and other activities so she wont miss us.

So when we got her back.. Everything was sorted na for her and it just felt like she never left.

This happened to us..hehe..Although meron kaming relatives sa sydney, dito sa adelaide, first time kong na-meet sa airport..hehe. Dun kami sa kanila tumira while looking for our own place. Mga 2wks din kami sa kanila.

Malakas ang loob ko kasi may nakuha akong separation pay sa company which i think is enough for a couple of months. And totoo very frustrating, when rejection letters are filling up. Umiiyak ako dati araw-araw, halos di n nga ako makatulog kasi I am really worried kung hanggang kelan aabot pa ung natira naming pera. Tapos weekly lumalakad etong renta ng bhay which is $280 per week. Good thing after 2months, nakakuha ng work na part-time husband ko, then after ilang weeks nakalipat na cya sa factory which is a regular work. Then ung centrelink dumating na din, ni-rebate simula nung dumating kami nung feb so in a way na-reflenish ung savings namin tapos ayun nga may monthly savings din kami from my husbands earnings, so eto ako ngaun.. fulltime housewife....hehe

Ako nmn, I went here first. At first wala akong matutuluyan dito sa Adelaide. By God's blessing a friend of mine has a former officemate dito sa Adelaide. Ayun pinakilala kmi sa isa't isa sa FB. So naguusap na kmi ng new found friend ko. She is very kind and nice same with her husband. At first hinanapan nya ko ng matitirahan which is yung pinoy officemate nya, then a month before I go here at Adelaide. Tinanong ko sya how much usually ang weekly cost of living sa Adelaide and How much ba need kong dalin na allowance to survive for few months and How long would it take to find a job. She offered na sa kanila muna ako magstay while I am looking for a job kse nga malaki ang gastos pag nagrerent khit room lang. i asked her how much would I pay her sabi nya saka na pag andito kna..hehehe...I am so blessed kse very helpful sya and her hubby. Nung wala pa kong job, ayaw nila kong pagbayarin. Sabi nila they are just paying back, kse nung sila nmn daw bago dito madami din tumulong sknla. Even her relatives here, madami kse syang relatives dito na mga matatagal na dito sa Adelaide very helpful and supportive. Lahat sila very generous. I got a casual part time job sa isang jewelry company after a month by the help of my new found friends. Nirefer ako dun, dun din sya nagwowork.

Very true sinabi ni sis marlyn, nakakalungkot, umiiyak din ako halos araw araw nung wala akong work. I even think to go back in the Phils and Ask my self tama ba naging mga plans and decisions ko? Buti nlang this head hunter from Hays, pinansin CV ko and she became my friend also. She found a job for me which in line tlga sa skill set ko. After working for almost a month dun sa jewelry company, I started working sa isang Industrial Automation Company na nahanap ng head hunter ko. I was planning to move out to my friend's house pero sabi nung nya ok lang sknla na mag stay muna ako para makaipon ako ng pang bond sa unit at pangbili ng mga gamit. After working for two months, I decided to move na. Kaya eto this Aug30 dadating mag-ama ko. Even a car, old model pero pde pang gamitin :)

Very high ang cost of living dito lalo pag wala ka pang work puro palabas ang pera wala pumapasok. Mahirap mahiwalay sa family pero kailangan and sila naging inspiration and motivation ko sa mga days na very low and weak ako. For sure makakahanap at makakahanap ng work, it may take time but it will come on the right time. Once nakahanap na ng work, everything will be fine. It will take one at a time ika nga. Konting tiis pero in time this will make you even better and stronger. :) and of course! Prayers.... honestly mas naging deep yung faith ko when I migrated.

@cheesy yep totoo yan. Mahirap humanap ng bahay dito especially for new migrants like us. Most of them require 100 points of identification. Yang 100 points compose of payslips, drivers license, etc. Dun pa lang sa payslip bagsak na tayo since wala naman tayong work dito. Personal experience namin with agents, walang pumapansin samin. Madami din kaming natignan na bahay at most of them di na sumasagot after the inspection date. Kaya lang namin nakuha itong bahay namin ngaun is because ung tinuluyan naming uncle ko, kilala nya etong real estate agent so pinakiusapan nya tsaka sinabi nyang guarantor cya. Same with nakilala naming family dito, they include a friend as co-signee since di rin sila ma-approve dahil wala ring work nung nanguha ng bahay .

If makikituloy kayo or mag-hohotel kayo, allot 2weeks for house hunting (mabilis na yan). Kasi dito di gaya satin na pagmay nakita kang bhay ngaun, check mo mamaya or bukas, pag nagustuhan mo deal kayo, tapos lipat k na. Dito iba. Meron silang inspection date, aatend ka nun. Tapos magpapasa ka ng requirements nila. Wait for ilang days if ikaw ung mapipili then magse-set sila ng date for contract signing date tsaka kayo lilipat.

You can't blame real estate agents or landlord naman for that process dahil cyempre negosyo/investment nila ito. They want to get tenants na sure na makakabayad fortnightly.

What I would suggest sa mga kbabayan natin about to migrate in Au e, paunahin muna yung main applicant kung wala pa siguradong work. Ganito yung plano namin ni wife about 3 years ago but suddenly changed nang may mag hire sa akin while we are still overseas. Kaya sabay sabay na kami including my 2 kids. Pero kung hindi ako nakahanap agad ng work, I would stick to our original plan na mauuna muna ako.

Main applicant or whoever is flexible , have more chances of getting a job or whoever can endure the hardship .

Sa amin I went first but I was a dependant ... wifey stayed for 2 reason .. 1 needed two months to turn over the jobs 2. was she was more capable of handling our 2 year old kid that time

ang plano nga namin nun kung magkaroon ng worst scenario is i'll be using credit card for all my transaction and wifey would pay them in PH

@cheesy: Natural lang yang kaba. Kaya yan! Baon lang ng napakaraming lakas ng loob. Kung kami nakaraos, kaya mo din un. :) Basta be prepared lang, if talagang walang makuhang work sa line mo, try menial/odd jobs, pera pa rin naman un. Tignan mo ung husband ko, no choice naman kami eh, wala cyang makitang work sa line tapos ako naman di rin makakuha ng work so ung kita nya sa factory ang bumubuhay samin ngaun.

Kaya yan!

    http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/centrelink/rent-assistance/claiming

    Claiming Rent Assistance

You do not need to lodge a separate claim for Rent Assistance. We will assess your eligibility when you make a claim for another payment or when you contact to tell us that your accommodation details have changed.

You will need to give us proof that you pay rent, and you will need to complete a Rent Certificate. You can obtain the form using Online Services or at your nearest DHS Service Centre.

If you have a formal written tenancy agreement, you will need to show it to us. If you do not have one, or are not named on the tenancy agreement, the person you pay rent to will have to sign your Rent Certificate.
