    Hi guys.

Since this thread has been bumped already, I have a few things to ask. Here's my situation:

    1. I have an existing 457 Visa (valid, expiring November 2014).
    2. I just filed my ACS assessment yesterday.
    3. No longer based in Australia

I read that VIC has a new ruling that can expedite the processing of applicants for state sponsorship who have been issued with a 457 (valid or expired). The expedited process only takes 14 days compared to the usual 3 months.

What I wanted to ask is, since I've been issued a 457 Visa already, can I just pass my documents (without the ACS assessment) and apply?

I'm just thinking of getting the approval already whilst waiting for the ACS Assessment (which would take 3 months at least).

What's the impact of getting rejected a State Sponsorship? Can I reapply again if I get denied?

    Thanks.

    Hello @jflucena... :)

I am not sure about the speed up processing for Victoria if you have been previously issued a 457 visa... i did not see this in their official website... www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au... if you go through the sponsorship route.. then you still need to have a skills assessment.. language ability... i think ma-speed up lang cguro ang nomination mo since you have australian work experience.. which is additional points for you sa EOI mo... kung yung skill mo naman is in the SOL... kahit d na siguro mag state sponsorship pasok ka na... good luck po on your application.. :)

@cchamyl Hi there! Oo nasa CSOL sya ng Victoria. Gusto talaga naming makapunta sa Australia ng husband ko in any pathway na pwede kami kasi lumalaki na din ang family. As long as legal ang pagpunta, hehe.. Thank you!

However, di naman naalis sa CSOL ang life scientist nec that time and until now nasa list pa din ito. That's why i'm here in this forum to learn from others apart from reading a lot in DIAC website.
    Cheers!

Sabi nga nila, "There is strong competition for Victorian nomination. Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements will not guarantee you an offer of nomination" (http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/visas-and-immigrating/occupation-lists/state-nomination-occupation-list-for-victoria) But then, it's still worth to try applying.

No worries. Even then, at least naging mabilis si Tita Victoria sa pag-notify:
    Dear ×××××××,

Thank you for your application for Victorian Government nomination under the 190 - Skilled Nominated visa scheme.

Following a review of your application, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for visa nomination by the Victorian Government.

Your application for Victorian Government state nomination was reviewed individually and assessed with a focus on your ability to address a number of criteria, including:

    • your ability to meet the minimum eligibility criteria,

    • the demand for your particular skills and expertise, and your ability to find work in Victoria,

    • the suitability and transferability of your qualifications, skills and experience – including any specialist capabilities – to the needs of Victoria’s labour market,

    • your ability and commitment to establishing yourself, and any dependents, in Victoria

    • the number of nomination applications received relative to the number of nomination places available for your occupation.

Victoria receives a high number of very strong applications for state nomination and only the very highest calibre candidates with the strongest skills, experience and opportunity for finding work in Victoria’s labour market are selected for Victorian state nomination.

The Victorian Government uses independent industry panels to provide advice on the suitability of applicants to Victoria’s labour market. These industry representatives also provide advice on the demand for individual applicants’ qualifications, skills and experience, and prospects for employment in Victoria.

While your application demonstrated your ability to meet the minimum eligibility requirements for Victorian state nomination, other applicants were able to more adequately demonstrate their suitability for employment in Victoria.

There are other visa pathways for highly skilled workers who want to live and work in Victoria and we encourage you to investigate other visa options on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website: www.immi.gov.au.

You are entitled to reapply for Victorian Government nomination six months after the date of this email, provided the occupation remains on Victoria’s occupation list, and you meet any other relevant criteria. See our website for further information on nomination requirements: LiveInVictoria.vic.gov.au.

We wish you all the best for your future endeavours.

Please quote Reference Number: ××××××× in all of your communication to us.

I received the following response regarding my Victoria state sponsorship application but I have no idea what this is.

We are undertaking a review of the current Victorian Government State nomination assessment procedures.

In order to streamline and improve our service to applicants we are trialling an online assessment tool called IKM TeckCheck. A number of applicants are being asked to complete this test that will profile their skills, knowledge, attitude and aptitude. After completing the test participants will be provided a copy of their results which can be used to show potential employers.

Your application for State nomination has been successful however prior to finalising the application we request that you complete this assessment. Once you have completed the assessment you will be notified officially of the positive outcome of your Victorian Government nomination application.

    hi all,

question lang regarding Victoria SS. I submitted my SS application just now but naisip ko bigla yung question about sa EOI ID. Or dapat nag apply ako ng EOI for Visa 190 at yung EOI ID nun yung nilagay ko sa application for SS? If mali, how can I correct it? I think there's no way to update my application online. Please advise.

Yup, same lang po yan. You can only have 1 EOI pero you can select both 189 and 190, just like my timeline. Hope this helps. Thanks!

Hi, my name is Mark. I'm a registered nurse here in Sydney. 55 points ako ngayon at makakakuha ako ng additional 5 points from the state itself.

Thank you.

@markinoz Gday Mark. I'm an RN as well in NSW. I did try to apply in Victoria a couple of months ago but it was denied. They will require you, if you're onshore, to have a job offer prior to lodging your subclass 190 visa application. As a 457 visa holder, you can still apply for state sponsorship. Mabilis ang Victoria pero very picky.

i replied to you on a different thread..

in summary: edit your EOI and include/select both visa 189 and 190 ( if you are applying for both)..
no need to create another EOI..
