I'm new here, as in I just registered few mins ago. hehehe I need each and everyone's expert advise. Pasenxa na kayo sa napaka-habang comment na'to, please bear with me.
I am currently working in Singapore for 5 years now and recently got married but my husband had to go back to the Phils kase rejected na yun renewal ng employment pass nya (pahigpit na ng pahigpit dito).
I am now very interested to migrate in AU, and I've been reading posts here and realized that applying for a student visa is the easiest way in. I am an IT graduate pero I never practiced it as a profession, actually naging "call girl" ako since gumraduate (call center agent) hehehehe... I have very few concerns that I want to raise bago sana ako sumabak sa isang malaking desisyon na gagawin ko..
1. I've learned that there are agencies in the Phils which can help us process our visa application and I've already chosen one - FORTRUST Education Services. Has anyone heard about this agency before? Any candidate here who is now already in AU?
2. I have already booked my IELTS exam and I am scheduled on the 25th of January (**fingers crossed**). Kung maging okay ang lahat and if ever makapili na ako ng school (which I already have), I am planning to bring my husband as my dependent. I'll be taking Bachelor of Business and I understand me and my husband can both work part-time up to 20hrs/week. Is it even feasible to sustain my study for 3years while me and my husband is just working part time? Is there anyone here who's able to do it and kasya ba ang kikitain from part-time job for the next semester's tuition fee? I really hope someone could advise me on this, it'll be a great help.
I've more questions pa pero eto muna sa ngayon, baka hindi nyo ako sagutin pag masyado mahaba.. hehehe.. Salamat sa lahat ng sasagot sa kahit isa lang sa mga tanong ako, will really appreciate all your answers and feedback.. God bless you all! ☺️
Hi, Just want to share with you our experiences here with my wifey...nakakasurvive naman kayo if your lucky enough that both of you will be working part time....we did that during the first part of my wife's course here...ngayin kasi nagmasters na siya so unlimited na ang trabaho ko....may kasama nga kami sa bahay ngayon na buong family nila andito (sila couple then dalawa nila anak na nag aaral pa dito sa isang private school)...ang visa ng hubby ay 572 then sila mag asawa nag work part time ...nakakasurvive naman sila....just be positive sis...good luck

@danyan2001us Hi, thank you so much for your advise. Pinalakas mo ang loob ko.. May I know kung ganu katagal ang course ng wife mo bago sya nag masters? Was it Bachelor's first then nag post-grad sya, or a short course then Post-grad of her course way back in the Phils?
Thank you ulit!

1. Go through the requirements for 573. If you think straightforward naman ang magiging application mo vis-a-vis the requirements, I suggest just doing everything without employing any agency. Helpful naman ang mga tao dito sa forum in answering questions from neebies like you and me. Sayang din kasi yung pambayad sa agency.
2. If you get the visa, you and hubby can work for up to 40 hours per 2weeks. Hindi siya limited for 20hrs/week (e.g. 30hrs on week 1 then 10hrs on week 2). You might want to consider taking up a Masters degree instead so that your hubby can work unlimited hours. More hours, more dough.

@appledeuce Hello and thanks for your reply. Yup, I am targetting 573 nga. With regard to the agency fee, actually they're not asking for any. I have been in constant contact with the agent and so far she has given so much info at wala ako binayaran na kahit ano pa. She asked me to take IELTS first and we'll start from there. I can't afford to process it my own kase my job requires me to be in the office 10hrs/day, 6days/week, so ang hirap talaga.
Regarding sa course of study, I decided to take up Bachelor of Business kase un Masters of IT, kelangan you have practiced/been practicing on the same field for 3 years, which I have not. Tapos hindi ko rin kase gusto yun field na yun, I want Human Resource Management so I'll start from scratch. Unless, anyone here has a better suggestion/idea, I am very open. Saka the agency had suggested that I take up Business kasi para daw hindi mahirap i-prove ang logical path ng career kase I'd been in the business industry for 6 years na (since I graduated eto na ung napuntahan ko). If I take up something else, parang mahirap daw i-justify for visa application.
Thanks everyone. I need more ideas and suggestions pa po. God bless you all!

@cherishgt ah. Baka may commission yung agency from the school pag naofferan ka na ng slot.
Wala ka bang makitang masters degree in business na relevant sa work experience mo? Ako kasi nonIT yung Bachelor ko dito sa Pinas tapos IT work na ako after college. I initially chose Bachelor of IT for my course sa Australian uni na napili ko, pero the admission officer suggested taking a Masters of Bus. in IT instead, given my work experience. 2 years lang din usually yung Masters so mas mabilis ang pathway to PR, kung papalarin

@appledeuce Hi, thank you. That makes alot of sense, yan talaga ang iniisip ko noong una, pero ang hindi ko maintindihan hanggang ngayon is, "Is that even possible?"
I am an IT undergrad, and had never practiced it as a profession. I am now interested to study in AU but is it possible to take up Masters in Business while I am a Bachelor of IT?
That is exactly my concern, and good thing that you pointed it out kase it sounds ridiculous para sakin kaya hindi ko talaga maitanong yan.. HIndi kase ako sigurado kung pwede yon, na iba yung undergrad ko sa post-grad na kukunin ko?

Well, pinayagan ako ng university to enroll in a postgraduate IT course kahit Hindi IT yung undergrad ko. Pagdating naman sa DIBP, I reckon that it's important na may link yung experience mo with your chosen course, though not required. Here's what the GTE guidelines say:
"Value of the course to the applicant’s future 12. Decision makers must have regard to the following factors in considering the value of the course to the applicant’s future: a. Whether the student is seeking to undertake a course that is consistent with their current level of education and whether the course will assist the applicant to obtain employment or improve employment prospects in their home country. Decision makers should allow for reasonable changes to career or study pathways. b. Relevance of the course to the student’s past or proposed future employment either in their home country or a third country. c. Remuneration the applicant could expect to receive in the home country or a third country, compared with Australia, using the qualifications to be gained from the proposed course of study"
Take note of the last sentence in (a).

Hi, nag advanced diploma in accounting muna si wifey dito for 2 years then she proceeded to masters in professional accounting....so hopefully matatapos na siya by next semester (June 2014 ) then we can proceed to our next pathway which is 485 and her professional year. Yes, graduate siya ng accounting sa atin sa pinas though she is not an accountant.

@push your hubby may want to pick a management course since supervisory level naman na siya ngayon para may relevance at continuity sa current work experience niya. Just my two cents.

@push Get an Aged Care course here in Australia. Ang daming nursing homes ang naghahanap ng nurses. Pati din hospitals. Very in-demand ang nursing career especially in NSW. But most of time, competitive so need to study hard to get good grades.

Many thanks in advance for your help.my husband is only my dependent.
1. Most universities only require initial deposit for 1 semester. 2. Check mo po kung kasama ang prospective school mo sa list of educ. providers that participate in SVP para malaki any chance n hindi ka na hingan ng proof of financial capacity. 3. Allow at least 3 months before intake.

Thank you so much @appledeuce.

"Value of the course to the applicant’s future 12. Decision makers must have regard to the following factors in considering the value of the course to the applicant’s future:
