Flesh Eating Bacteria - Not Contagious!

I received a whatsapp message from my wife very bothered about the new ABS-CBN reported regarding the "Mysterious" Flesh eating bacteria. When i did my research i found this link from ABS-CBN

and in their video caption

"May ilang tao na may misteryosong sakit ngayon sa Pangasinan. Isang sakit na tila kumakain umano ng balat at laman ng tao. Babala sa mga manonood, sensitibo ang bidyong inyong makikita. Magba-Bandila si Jasmin Romero. Bandila, Pebrero 24, 2014, Lunes"

All I can say is, I hope ABS-CBN can have some spare sometime researching first or atleast use proper words that will not cause alarm to people. This kind of Caption can cause people to panic or start a hoax.

FYI for all readers, this disease looks like Necrotizing fasciitis according to http://www.sepsisalliance.org/sepsis_and/necrotizing_fasciitis/

It is NOTcontagious. it also is NOT communicable. The only way to get it is to become infected with the bacteria, just as you would get an infection in a cut at any other time.

Infact nakakalito nga ang construction ng sentence kung mabilis mong babasahin ang caption. Pwedeng ang dating eh "May ilang tao na (ang) may misteryosong sakit ngyon sa Pangasinan...." . Unang basa ko, akala ko kumakalat na. Abs ayusin nyo tagalog nyo!
