Hello guys, we are also in the midst of collectiong our documents for assessment..Si hubby ang primary applicant.
He is an engineer also based here in Sg, medyo confused lang kami kasi hindi namen maconfirm kung ano bang assessing body ang para sa kanya.
Hubby has 5 years work experience, pero hati hati yun sabi ni MS Gigi he has 2.8 yrs as s site engineer and 1.7 as QS, we are thiniking of applying through VET and project builder ang nominated na skill.
Tanong ko lang po anu bang advantage at disadvantage paag sa VET siya magpapaasses instead of EA?..ibig bang sabihin non hindi siya pwedeng magwork as engineer or QS sa OZ? or pwede pa din kaso puro project builder (SITE Engr) lang?

as far as i know (based sa mga feedback na CE friends), mahirap pumasa as QS.. dahil hindi recognized ang Phil degree, at iba ang standards ng AU.. hindi sya pwede magwork as agad agad QS sa AU, dahil kailangan ng license to practice, unless of course may certifications sya from recognized QS body ng AU..

if you will nominate "project builder", make sure na marami pang slots na open sa occupation limit sa DIAC, it will be useless kung wala ng slot.. or you can wait until mag open ulit every July 1st...

im assuming CE grad si mister, so i think pwede din naman sya sa EA, medyo mas matrabaho dahil kailangan ng CDR/Career episodes at kailangan ng IELTS agad..

between Project Builder and CE, mas madali mag pa-assess sa Proj Builder..
im not sure lang kung macredit lahat ng work exp nya sa Proj builder..
pero kung CE (under EA), mukhang macredit lahat ng work exp nya (as PB and QS), and then you can claim for EOI pts..

may agent po kayo, maybe she has some other good points..

thank u @lock_code2004..yup CE graduate siya kaso ang experience niya kasi is more on as site engineer..sabi po kasi ng agent namen iba din yung assessing body kapag qs so hindi maccredit yung experience niya as qs..kaya po mas pinili namen ang vet..

may isa pa po akong tanong..sorry ha..kapag vet pa siya nagpaassess wala bang restriction yun sa kung anung gusto mong maging work pagdating jan?..for example since project builder ang nominated skill nya what if pag dating dyan guato muna niya maging draftsperson or sa design,pwede pa din kaya siya magapply sa mga ganong line of work?.. thanks ulit..

pwede sya mag work ng kahit ano pagdating dito..

last na lang po..you mentioned na kapag project buidler ang pinili namen make sure na madami pang slot na open sa occupation limit,may link po ba kayo para doon?..i checked po sa diac kaso wala po yung project builder e..pasensiya na talaga..thank u so much again..

www.immi.gov.au , click "SkillSelect", then select tab "Report", expand "Occupation Limit"

you will need to search by ANZSCO code group.. yung first 4 digits ng code ng occupation...

Naexplain na din ni Ms. Gigi yung agony namen. She explains that there is no connection between the assessment we will go through to the possible employment jan. Employers won't even ask. Even daw sa Government.

@k_mavs Sir gusto ko lang kunin opinion nyo since nasa telecommuncation kayo. Nung namimili aku ng skills na ipapa-assess ko, dalawa ang pinka-suitable na nakita ko, ung sa ACS (Australian Computer Society) Network Administrator at Telecommunications Engineer sa EA. Experience ko is with Cisco devices, I have worked for Telcos that deploy cisco routers and other cisco equipment to customer as well as konting experience narin sa core network, do you think it could have been better if I chose Telco Engineer rather Network Admin? Kc nung binabasa ko ung description ng dalawa eh cguro 98% parehas sila. Kung sana Telco Engr ang kinuha ko pwde sana aku mag-settle sa Sydney since open sya don, ung Network Admin nmn open sya sa Adelaide kaya don aku napunta ngaun. BTW, graduate aku ng Electronics Engineering.

wala syang expiration sa EA, pero DIAC requires the assessment to be within 5 years before the application date..

so based sa EA, you can renew the assessment by returning the old result and paying an admin processing fee..

Hi All!

I just need some advice po what options are available for me so I could live my Australian Dream.

I am a Licensed Electronics Engineer. Graduated with Electronics & Communications Engineering. I have worked with the top telco provider here in the Philippines for almost 2 years now. Is it sufficient to apply for Skillselect or more years of experience required?

I have an uncle in Melbourne, a permanent resident already. I don't know if he can help but I'm planning to take up Masters so I would rather avail student visa and study there just to get "IN" in Australia asap.

What should I do? Should I go for skillselect or should I go for student visa instead?

@ambot777, na-try mo na ba yung points mo sa visa 189 (skilled independent) kung aabot ka sa minimum 60 points?

Hi @emonsato! I actually saw something interesting on the point system and from my personal assesment, I scored 70 if I perfect IELTS. But if not, the closest score I'll have is 60. I don't include in the points my work experience since I only have 2 years close. And one good thing here is that If my uncle (dad's cousin, 1st degree) will sponsor me, I'll get an additional 10 points if I apply for the 489 (Skilled - Regional Sponsored Provisional Visa).

The question here is, is it better than the 189 visa and do I still have to pass something to the assessing body (Engineers Australia) for my profession?

Mga kabayan... Dumating ho ako dito sa Perth last January 19, 2014. Mechanical/Piping Engineer ho ako... Ask ko lang ho sana kung may alam kayong pwedeng aplayan kahit temporary or casual... Medyo wala kasi akong mahanap... madami namang vacancy sa labouring industry kaso daming ticket ang hinahanap... saka naghahanap ng local experience... Nakakuha na nga ako ng white card.. Kaso di naman nakatulong.. Thank you..

@lock_code2004 - thanks for the insights bro. Yes Telco Tech Officer is in SOL1 and buti nalng may budget pa. Isipin ko n lang investment.. hehe.. As per EA, within 2 weeks lang (hopefully). Yun nga e, kaya ngmamadali din.. Thanks again bro
did you enquire with EA about your case at sinabi nila na 2wks lang? kailangan mo ba magsubmit ng mga new documents ulit or can they use your old docs?
My agent did all the coordination w/ EA and they said the assessment can be done w/n 2 weeks. No need to submit any other documents but the filled out application form. I guess they did not require additional documents since the new occupation for assessment is very similar with my previous one, and can be assessed using my old docs.

Yup mabilis lang tlga bro, basta similar dun sa previous nominated occupation. Same docs ang ginamit ng EA. Actually within a week nga lang dumating na result. Yun nga lang additional 600. Awts!

newbie here in the forum, i am an electrical engr. working in the elv/security systems field in the mid east for 8 years.

i'm planning of applying a student visa,subclass 173, masters in engineering technology.

My question is that is there a demand or enough job opportunities in the elv field in melbourne while studying and after graduation? and will this course help me in my future goal to have an rp?

I am a mechanical engineer here in the philippines. and in 1 week time lilipad nako jan papuntang melbourne. i got secondary 457 visa sponsorship. in short, additional. building maintenance ang linya ko dito sa pinas for almost 5 years handling ac system and refrigeration system both centralised. ask ko lang kung may chance na makakita ako ng same line ng trabaho ko dito, jan sa melbourne? kht mga small supermarkets kaya.

QS Civil ... around $100 to 150 thousand... dami QS Civil dito.. mga bigatin... hehehehe... I met a few kababayans (QS Civil) here in Sydney and they are very helpfull in sending me job ads that they encounter...
