@eronpol .. if I were you... go for it.. ako dati isa lang yung naging interesado.. pero i still take the risk... and worth it naman yung naging result... I started with the same company after two weeks ng pagdating ko.... sayang ang time.. baka pag nagtagal pa.. baka mawala yung opportunity....

@eronpol.. we cannot predict what will happen when you land in AU.. but it's up to you if you are willing to take the risk.. if you take a look at the numbers... you are in a better position compared to others.. people are responding to your application even though you applied offshore.. this is not the case for most of applicants...

I had my final interview kanina via phone. I was referred by someone kaya inaccomodate nila ang application ko kahit offshore pa ko.. The final words coming from the Manager was "please visit us as soon as you arrive so we can tour you around the facility and to meet you personally..." Hindi pa ako ganun kafamiliar with OZ culture so di ko alam current stand ko.. what do you think, guys?

I also asked via email the next steps I gad to take and she just repeated what she said, "as you will be arriving on the 11th, please have a 2-day rest for you to recover from jet lag. Be here by the 14th of May so we could discuss face to face and so we could tour you around the facility." What do you think?

I think hired ka na nyan. Yung word na i tour ka sa facility is very strong and obvious unless otherwise may disaster or last minute problems since wala ka pa contract. But if i were i you, i will considered myself hired. Well maybe 99% cguro haha

@Umbenieyon - same thing happened to me and a friend.. although nandito na kmi sa AU..
pinabalik for a second interview.. tapos pinag tour sa facility, pinakilala sa mga ibang managers.. pero hindi pa agad nag job offer..

i think they are checking how you will fit in, kung gusto mo ba ang work environment..
and of course hindi pa naman talga sila makapag-offer officially until they've completed yung mga background check, medical...etc..

after 1 or 2 days, tumawag na to offer the job..(after ma approve ang mga docs/reference/medical checks)..

but definitely, it is a very positive sign, na meet ka nila personally..

eto ang comparison/explanation:

a) Under a registered business - example eletrician ka, and then nagtayo ka ng own business mo.. pag meron kang contractuals job sa mga ibang company as an on-call electrician.. ang bayad sayo ng company, hindi babawasan ng personal income tax..

so as a registered business owner, mag iisue ka ng invoice at babayaran ka nila.. so lahat ng mga invoices na issue mo at binayaran ka....you are required to pay GST (goods and services tax) sa goverment..

b) just for your labor, as a temp/casual worker, but without your own registered business - so example pumasok ka as a receptionist -contractual job (temp), sa isang company.. dahil wala ka namang registered business or agency, at sariling service mo lang un... from your salary, obligation ng company na bawasan ang bayad sayo ng personal income tax..

in this case, hindi na applicable sayo ang GST..

Just want to share my experience on this topic. It took me 7 interviews before I got a job. 1 Interview is with a recruiter and the other 6 are with direct company. I arrived last March 16 so almost every week may job interview ako. One thing I can say is that kung qualified ka talaga sa position and gusto ka i-hire ng company, they will hire you right there and then. just like what happen to me.

Wag din masyadong mapili or wag masyado taasan ang expected salary, just stay at the minimum to average rate. What is important is meron tayong perang pumapasok at nagkakaroon ng local experience.

Took me almost 2 months (roughly 7 weeks) before actually starting work. Naging mapili rin ako somehow sa mga jobs na inaapplyan ko via seek (ignoring mostly yung mga call center, service desk jobs) kasi umaasa ako sa offer ng previous company ko sa Manila.

But one thing I've noticed, when you apply here in Australia, you really need to be qualified. Especially on paper. Like having the necessary certifications, almost exact same experience, etc.

This, I think, is different to how we conduct job hunting the Pinas. Sa Pinas, unless highly technical yung skill, good personal presentation, confidence, and culture fit lang, you can easily get a job. Kasi sa Pinas, we think, everything is trainable. You don't have to be an expert to come on board. Whatever you do on the job, pwede mo matutunan while doing the job.

Dito, iba. Hindi importante ang willingness to learn, resourcefulness, and critical thinking. Kelangan certified ka by ang institution to prove any of your skills. Kaya mahirap.

So for those having difficulty, study can be an option. Not necessarily University type of studying. But studying for certifications and stuff.

Hi. tanong ko lang po, kasi medyo worried si hubby when it comes to job hunting in au. kasi ako ang main applicant so assessed yung credentials ko. question is di ba siya mahihirapan makakuha ng work kahit hindi assessed yung credentials niya? we are both in engineering industry - CE. Thanks po.
