Hi everyone, please excuse my ignorance, paano po ba magkarga ng gas dito and can someone explain the pricing (like nakadisplay sa priceboard is 140 etc)? Salamat po!
(1)Park parallel sa servo
(2) Turn off car
(3) Hand brake
(4) Open gas tank
(5) Fill-up tank
(6) Close gas tank
(7) PINAKA-importante, magbayad!

Price in the servo here are in cents; yung sinasabi mo na 140, it simply means $1,40/litre sya.

na amaze din ako last time pumunta ako melb, walang tao sa gasoline station at yung friend ko nagkarga ng gas hhh at ang unang tanung ko, meron bang mga di nagbabayad? sabi daw makikita naman sa cctv pag d nagbayad, di ko na mtandaan exact na sinabi nya parang yung bill nya ipapadala sa house haha

@rguez06 - kung maraming pump, make sure na alam mo ang pump number mo pag magbabayad kana. baka yung bill ng iba ang mbayaran mo..

i remember when i moved to US, merong relocation manager na assign sa akin..
at sasamahan ka nya anywhere for a whole day, to familiarize with the area..
isa ito sa mga tinanong ko.. at hindi lang tanong.. nagpa-demo pa talga ako.. lol...

Share ko lang.. I've been driving sa Pinas for more than 10 years na rin pero never used a right hand drive... when I mentioned this sa dealer kanina.. ni offer nila na pwede ako punta doon kahit na ilang araw to use yung mga demo vehicle nila to practice.. para pag kinuha ko na yung car na binili ko.. medyo sanay na ako... :-)

@kremitz ... may US license kasi ako before.. so when I came here... they just convert it to an Australian license.. we got a automatic lancer ES for around 20k..... you're right.. mas prefer ko sana ang manual.. pero since di ko pa rin kabisado driving a right hard drive car.. i don't want to worry about shifting gears.. it will just complicate things.. pero pag nasanay na siguro ako.. i'll go back to manual on our next car..

If you have lots of money, it would always be nice to just bite the bullet and pay one shot rather than pay interest if you opt via financing...

At the end of the day, your choice!

question po mga kabayan, nakabili ako ng sasakyan , second hand lang sya pero wala pa akong NSW na lisensya, Ngayon nung ililipat na rego since wala ako license number, ayaw ng RTA ilipat sa pangalan ko, pwede ko ba ilagay yung Philippine license number ko sa form sa rego? and sa insurance naman po , ok lang din ba na ako may ari nung sasakyan pero wala pa ako lisensya? salamat po in advance sa makakapag bigay ng liwanag

Not sure in NSW but here n VIC I bought a car with my PH Lic. I think as long as you can still drive with that license it should be good, still best to ask though. Hope it helps. Thanks!

hi @blockquote. ang average interest e nasa 10% per annum. so in 5yrs, thats 50%. pero diminishing naman ang principal. i bought ours last january. the advantage of buying a new vehicle is you can ask for huge discount at various freebies. i was able to get $6k worth of discount and free items. plus worry-free ka pagdating sa maintenance. insurance is better at no hassle sa registration like green slip, etc.

actually, you can ask for your company in case you want to buy a brand new car if you can have it under hire purchase or novated lease. well, depende how big the company you're working for.

@chesian alam ko dapat may NSW license ka... Napilitan ako kumuha agad kahit learner's license. By the way, PR ka ba? alam ko pde magdrive ang PR for 3 mos, but not sure about ung rego. Nung bumili kase kami may L license na ako dito sa NSW..

Hi @stolich18 and @chesian, you need a valid AU licence to have a car registered under your name. Also, a rego cannot be named under two names, like for example if you're a couple and would like to have it as a joint ownership.

Nakita ko sa retailers, nagbebenta din sila ng certified used cars, mas mura. Do you think that would be a better option than second hard from just anyone, but cheaper than a brand new one? Especially for new migrants?

I got our car 2nd hand from a dealer...

There is peace of mind on my side especially that it is a big car dealer. Definitely much more expensive than getting it from a private seller.

After almost a year, my 14 year old car is okey pa naman...

I would just like to share our experience regarding car registration. We arrived here 3 weeks ago and bought a second hand car. We were able to transfer the registration under my husband's name kahit wala pa syang valid AU license. We just needed to provide additional information such as bank statement to verify the address and reference from someone with a valid NSW driver's license.

@filsgoz, are you in NSW? when I bought our car few months ago, that's what the dealer told me. in NSW, nde na raw pwede. that's why our car was registered lang under my name.
