question hindi ko alam kung may nagtry na nang ganitong senaryo, may visa kana then nasa either country of residence ka at the moment tapos dun ka naghahanap nang work mahihire kaba at yun ba ang mas praktikal gawin?

kesa pumunta nang AUS agad kahit may visa tapos apply nang work inside.

After 2 months and 7 days!

    Then un na!

I think, kahit gaano ka pa kagaling, luck, faith in God at patience lang tlga ang susi d2.

This time, hnd muna ako mangangarap maging engr d2 sa australia.

dahil it would be unfair sa mga puti na basta basta na lang tau kukuha ng trabaho na para sa kanila lang!!!

we hav to know our place 1st.
like them, work for it too...
and to earn our place in their society.

    :)

    Congrats @lester_lugtu.

Happy for you sir. Although, I kindly disagree with some of your points.

"dahil it would be unfair sa mga puti na basta basta na lang tau kukuha ng trabaho na para sa kanila lang!"

    - I don't think there is anything unfair if we get a job as long as we are qualified, and we can do it right.

"This time, hnd muna ako mangangarap maging engr d2 sa australia."

    - Each man to his own. But in my humble opinion, you should aim for nothing less than your dreams.

Sa experience ko lahat pantay pantay lang dito sa Australia, and thats the beauty of this country.

Again, just my 2 cents lang po.

@wizz seryoso? cleaner mahirap pa sa perty.kung 1-3 mos madali pa din yun. it's discouraging to hear maybe you should not mention it here kasi. very negative sa mga wala pa work. para mo na din kasi sinabi na matakot na kayo. just saying... jobseekers wag mag agam-agam you will find work for sure. at syempre sabi ko nga invest time and money sa pag aapply. just go with the process of job hunting parang pinas din lng. walang swerte swerte dito sa oz.

@thegreatiam15 - take the time to polish your resume mate... and you should be relatively well off when you are here.

and yeah, sadly totoo ang balita na mahirap makakuha ng trabaho dito. don't take it against anyone if they mention this, just stating fact.

i wish you nothing but the best, enjoy your first few days in australia. it is a very beautiful country.

medyo hindi ko lang magets di po ba pag state sponsorship ibig sabihin may work ka dun sa current state na yun?...kung naggrant nang state sponsorship.

nga pala yung mga naghahanap nang work usually sa currency natin PESO magkano ang kelangan mo para maka survive ka for 5-6 months nang tamang laboy lamang at wala munang luho.

I haven't lost everything except my mind...

I think the relative ease of landing a job depends heavily on your field of work. Ako, I came here as an ICT Business Analyst. In demand siya dito if job postings lang ang pagbabasehan ko. araw araw halos may naghahanap ng BA. HOWEVER, hindi ko naanticipate na unlike sa Pinas, na pwede kang mag change career anytime as long as you have the passion, drive, and willingness to learn a new skill, dito sa AU, they will really look at your credentials and certifications. So after sending out around 45-50 resumes, I never once got a formal face to face interview.

So if you want to assess your chances of getting hired here, speak and network with someone in a similar field as yours. If may nadalian maghanap ng work, don't expect that same result for you. Alternatively, just because may 8 months inabot kakahanap ng work, doesn't mean you'll end up like that as well.

Basta ang payo ko is, always be ready, give yourself a timeline, and always have a Plan B on hand. Saludo ako sa mga kababayan natin tulad ni @staycool, who, despite having great credentials and significant experience in their field of work, hindi nila naisip na ikabababa nila ang pagtanggap ng trabaho bilang blue-collar employees. Others would just give up and go home. Yan ang tunay na Pinoy, resilient and persevering. :)

@thegreatiam15 - well, personally, if hindi pa ako nahire by this time, siguro, I would have taken a different job that's easier to get into, given my experience. Then, I'll work on a plan on how to get to the level of credentials required by the Business Analyst roles. Especially when it comes to certifications. There are industry standards and pare pareho lang naman ang hanap nila. Yun nga lang, studying to get those certifications here sa AU can be pretty expensive. I have been toying with the idea of going home sa Pinas after a year and taking around 6 months to get all the certifications I can sa Manila na. I'm sure it's loads cheaper but the credentials are the same. So maybe, may ganitong pathway rin sa occupation niyo as engineers. Basta always have foresight. Optimism is the result of carefully laid out plans. And planning ahead can diminish the feeling of pessimism on your outlook. So as long as may Plan B ka, you can take things as they happen. :)

thanks for sharing your actual experience. what i just said about scarcity of jobs was what i heard from australian newscast. nag-share lang ako ng narining ko parang nagkkwentuhan lang tayo. i got sad nga when i heard it..siempre gusto ko madaming trabaho para ok na ok pagdating ko sa oz at nag job hunting nako hindi ako mahirapan. if it sounds negative, puro positive na lang ippost ko at hindi nako maniniwala sa news nila na considered tsismis lang hehehe..... :D

@TasBurrfoot - agree! my friend keeps telling me about the positives and negatives as well (hindi ko na ieelaborate yung negatives baka may magalit) because he wants me to be prepared and to set the right expectations. and i dont take it against him because i know he's doing that para maging tough ako if ever maka-encounter ako ng setbacks. :)

nakikinig din ako sa ABC Newsradio para masanay na ang tenga ko sa Australian accent. puro cost cutting nga ang gusto mangyari ng bagong govt kasi daw "they are spending more than what they are earning". It now makes sense why: spoiled pala talaga mga Australian. nakakatakot lang kasi parang gloomy ang current situation pero salamat sa mga masters dito na nagbibigay ng positive vibes para sa aming mga padating pa lang.
